How to unlock the Survivor achievement in Remnant: From the Ashes - Definitive Guide
First off, I'm going to be honest. Even on normal, survival is pretty tough so I recommend starting out on Normal first. It's possible it may be easier on co-op but I will have to try later on with a buddy or two to confirm it. EDIT: After trying it out with some co-op buddies, the game is more fun but in the long run, you do end up losing more time because you have to discuss and decide who gets what loot such as armor and weapons. There's quite a few Youtube videos of solo survival strategies but none for co-op so it's up to you to decide how you want to approach this. So far, by myself, I've got to wave 6. With two other players, we got to wave 7.
In order to start the DLC, go to the checkpoint (giant red crystal) in Ward 13, interact with it and you should see Survival Mode as an option at the bottom. You'll be taken to the Labyrinth to purchase your starting gear that is completely randomized. There are pillars that categorize the types of purchases you can make such as:
Green pillar = consumables
Purple ring pillar = rings and amulets
Purple swords pillar = melee/ranged weapons
Purple shield pillar = armor
Red pillar = extra dragon heart/trait tomes
On the top left-hand side of the screen, you'll see a long vertical bar which indicates the number of bosses you've slain. The first horizontal bar (red bar) is the timer. After 6 minutes, the enemies will increase in level. The bar below that (blue bar) is your level. It'll fill as you earn experience and finally, the bottom bar is the number of scraps you've accumulated. BIG TIP: Not only is survival about RNG but also managing your time wisely in each world. Ideally, you can "track" your progress by comparing the blue and red bars. You want to do your best to have the blue bar to always be a higher number than the red bar to make it easier for yourself. I died on boss 6 and both my bars were level 14 which meant that I was sort of running out of time; if I didn't speed it up, the remaining worlds and bosses were going to be that much harder. It is possible though that by bosses 6-10, the red bar will be a higher number than the blue bar.
**Important** - once you beat boss 5, the boss scaling is tremendously increased; however, since this is a solution to beat 5 bosses and I recommend going with a defensive build to familiarize yourself with the survival mode, it's likely you'll need to switch/learn an offensive build in order to beat 10 bosses consecutively due to how ridiculous the scaling gets. Since I've yet to earn that achievement, I can't recommend a strategy for it just yet hence my lack of posting a guide for it.
I personally recommend anything that can increase your survivability. Keep in mind though, everything gear-wise is entirely based on RNG so you'll have to adapt based on what you get.
I always try to go for the Twisted (health regeneration) and Cultist (increase mod power generation) armor sets. For weapons, the starting repeater pistol will be sufficient for the first world but with this DLC, they changed quite a bit of stuff in the game with several buffs and nerfs all around. Still, my main set up in the base game was SMG/Chicago Typewriter so I tried to emulate that as well. For mods, Explosive Shot works wonder on many bosses and secondary mod, try to aim for any summon mods like Iron Sentinel (turrets). These allow you to kite while putting down sustaining damage on bosses and mobs.
For consumables, you shouldn't have to buy any resistance items unless you know you have trouble with that boss. For example, The Ent will try to infect you with rot and if you know you're not good at dodging his moves, buy and equip them to your hot bar. I always bought the Golden Plum which gives you a one-hour health regeneration buff and if I had extra money, I'd buy Mudtooth's Tonic as well for extra hp.
Every time you defeat a boss, you get teleported back to the Labyrinth to restock on supplies, buy new gear, etc and repeat the cycle. Once you've defeated your 5th boss and teleport back to the Labyrinth, your achievement should pop.
My run for this achievement took me 1 hour 20 minutes so doubling that for the 10 bosses in a row achievement seems reasonable.

2 players seems to be ideal for this, running turrets and life steal from summons, still undecided on a primary but iskal pistol is amazing for life steal when combined with cultist sets its much better than dragin heart for healing, safer too.
Just dont do what i did and go into this blind, we just died to the 10th boss because we had never seen it before, probably 3 hits from death lol

Which boss was it? The DLC added three new bosses to Corsus: Dream Eater, Barbed Terror, and Iskal Queen with the Queen being the hardest of the three.
