How to unlock the Duality achievement in Remnant II - Definitive Guide
After you aquire ten skill points (through exploration or beating bosses), your inventory screen will suddenly have a new slot for an archetype engram.
You get archetype engrams by getting Wallace to craft them using some conspicuous item you have picked up.
For example, you can buy a Medic Pin from Dr Nora; you can take the Medic Pin to Wallace and convert it into a Caduceus Idol; and then you can equip the Caduceus Idol in the new slot in you inventory to dual-class with your starting class and the "medic" class.
More info about engrams below. Beware spoilers for non-starter classes.

EDIT: There may have been an update that lowers the skill point requirement, but I am unable to confirm this.

@BStringbean. Thanks for letting us know! Be aware that leveling two archetypes at once is slower because the XP gets divided between them.

When you reach level 10 in your first selected Archetype (see Top Performer ), you’ll be able to unlock and equip a second Archetype. In order to equip a second Archetype, however, you’ll need to get your hands on one of the game’s many Engrams.
Engrams can be crafted by visiting Wallace with a special item (below), 10 Lumenite Crystals and 1,000 Scrap. While some items that are used to craft Engrams can be purchased from traders from the off, the more useful ones will take a little bit of knowhow. The items and the classes you unlock, as well as where you get them, are as follows:

- Medic Pin - Healer - Dr. Norah in Ward 13 sells this for 1,500 Scrap.
- Old Whistle - Handler - Mudtooth in Ward 13 sells this for 1,500 Scrap.
- Rusty Medal - Hunter - Brabus in Ward 13 sells this for 1,500 Scrap.
- Old Metal Tool - Challenger - Reggie (next to Mudtooth) in Ward 13 sells this for 1,500 Scrap.
- Broken Compass - Explorer - Obtained by defeating the last boss of the campaign.
- Worn Cylinder - Gunslinger - After speaking to Mudtooth (and earning Tall Tales ), he’ll reward you with this.
- Mysterious Stone - Alchemist - Defeat the Manticora (the werewolf-like beast) in Losomn (either in Ironborough or Morrow Parish). The beast itself will pull you through a sewer grate in a dead end in the open-world if you get too close, just keep a look out for the locals to be making a fuss around it to know where to stand. This will take you to The Segments area, and after you beat the beast, you’ll be rewarded with the Mysterious Stone.
- Faded Grimoire - Summoner - Can be bought from the Blood Moon Altar in The Far Woods in Yaesha, after defeating the Mother Mind in The Nameless Nest. The Grimoire needs Blood Moon Essence to purchase it, so keep an eye out for the flying purple orbs during a Blood Moon.
- Alien Device - Engineer - You’ll find this item near the Titan’s Reach world stone checkpoint in N’Erud, in the toxic area nearby (this can either be The Eon Vault or Timeless Horizon). You’ll see it on the map as a blue icon when you get close enough. Use Purified Salve to make your way into the toxic area to grab it.
- Wooden Shiv - Invader - Trickiest of the lot, this one. Once on Root Earth, near the Corrupted Harbor, there is a small arena (through a door where you previously had to do this area’s survival event). Use the Dreamcatcher on the large corpse in the middle of the arena (which you get by getting the Nightweaver Stone Doll from the basement prison in Morrow Sanatorium in Morrow Parish in Yaesha, and putting it into the Nightweaever’s Web in The Tormented Asylum) and you’ll receive Walker's Dream. Then, use Walker’s Dream and you’ll be teleported to a fight against Bane, an aberration of a Root Walker. Defeat it to get the Wooden Shiv. Once you have the necessary item above, along with the Lumenite Crystals and Scrap, head back to Wallace and you’ll be able to craft that Engram.

When you collect ten skill points (books are lying around the world or falling from bosses), you will be able to choose a second class. From the vendor you buy a special recipe for the item (the Dirty Tooth has it and the one who sits with him, the medic, the guy at the shooting range and other secret ones), craft it from the NPC who sits on the tower and equip it.
