How to unlock the Granary achievement in Reus - Definitive Guide
This project is built during the Second Era of the tutorial
You will be prompted to build a forest and plant blueberries, at which point a village will settle. The forest section can be as large as 13 sections when it is first built. Each section can hold one plant, animal, mineral, or project. The village will take up four sections with two sections on either side to place resources. The boundaries are marked by pylons on either side, and only resources within this boundary are collected or used by the village. Blueberries produce five food for the village. Pressing on the blueberry section tells you, you will get an additional ten food, if certain plants are beside the blueberries. Resource symbiosis is an important factor in generating more resources later on.
The granary project will start when enough food has been collected by the village, and it requires that a total of twenty food is collected (in use) to complete it. Below the village are two numbers separated by a slash. The first is how much food is in use, and the second is the maximum that can be used. The project will complete once twenty food is in use.
The Ocean giant will then be able to place animals, in this case chickens to help produce food.
Press where a chicken is placed will show you that they produce one food, and have a range of two (purple arrow with a two beside it). This means they produce one food on their section as well as the two sections on either side for a total of five food. The symbiosis section shows that food will be increased by three if next to blueberries. This means each chicken section will now produce four food for a total of twenty, if placed beside a blueberry.
In addition the blueberry now produces nine food with the added four from the chicken.
This blueberry-chicken combo should generate enough food to finish the granary easily.

This game has an utterly terrible tutorial. Basically just follow it, most of it won't make any sense as it insists on giving you page after page of text without you actually doing any of it. Follow it and wait for about 5 minutes. Achievement will pop.
