How to unlock the Miracle hoarder achievement in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl - Definitive Guide

There are 70 standard Artifacts to collect in all, and they're all very random on how they appear and how they spawn. That's what we've created a really in-depth guide to ensure you ge them all, which you can find below. Good luck out there!

Check out our Stalker 2 - All Artifacts & Arch-Artifacts Locations guide.

From the looks of it there are up to 69 different artifacts (not including the 6 arch-artifacts and one that is story related) which is definitely a lot more than were in the previous games. I'm hoping this list is accurate since I haven't found everything yet and every other list I found seemed incomplete.

More often than not you'll find them in anomaly fields but sometimes you can find them near dead bodies in certain areas. And after an emission or two artifacts will usually respawn in artifact fields. The Echo detector tends to be rather annoying to use for artifact hunting so it's best to upgrade to something better if you can. It's possible to get a Bear detector as a quest reward for completing "A Sign of Hope" which is at the Noontide base on Wild Island.

Regularly I would do a run around Zalissya in the Lesser Zone since there are 5 anomaly fields somewhat near the town. And I would then move north into Garbage since there are 6 more anomaly fields that are easy enough to check out. Can make for a decent way to make some cash in about half an hour if you're quick about it. And doesn't hurt to see if you come across any new artifacts while you're out it.

One particular thing of note is that artifacts are spawned randomly, but based by distance. So if you make a quick save before reaching an anomaly field (100-150m or so) you can check to see what's there and if you want to reroll it you can do so by loading your save. If you don't mind spending the time trying for it you can attempt to reroll artifacts until you get something new or worth a lot of money.

You can also find legendary artifacts like the Compass, Thunderberry, and Liquid Rock early in the game. I managed to get a Compass in the Deaf Meadow gravitational field northeast of Zalissya. And also got a Thunderberry from the Pol Depot electrical field northwest of Zalissya. So it's definitely worth checking anomaly fields in the starting areas since the game doesn't prevent high tier artifacts from spawning in them.

Yes, 69 artifacts are confirmed and I do not believe the "Heart of Chernobyl" is needed. Also, most people will end up getting the rare and legendary artifacts before all of the common and uncommon ones, and it is advised to reload a very early save to farm these once you make a list of what you have on your main save, preferable near the end of the story. What I did was stash all artifacts (I sold duplicates), and then went through the above list and marked off all that I had. I only had 7 common/uncommon ones remaining and reloaded an earlier save and was immediately finding them with the reload trick. Down to just needing fireball now along with Chocolate bar (which can be bought from a vendor so I am saving this for last to test out if purchasing them works - I sure hope so...)

If you don't mind spending the time trying for it you can attempt to reroll artifacts until you get something new or worth a lot of money. It can also be useful if somehow an artifact gets stuck in a ground where you can't grab it.

People have been mentioning the Crystal Thorn and I think that may be tripping some people up. It's possible to get one from a story related quest and I'm suspecting that one doesn't count for the achievement. You'll know you have the quest related one since it has a unique description that references where you found it. If you only have this one chances are you probably need a regular one for the collection which can be found in acid anomalies. I had both when I found my final artifact so the achievement popped without issue.

There is another unique quest artifact that can be obtained through the "All That Is Left" quest in the Chemical Plant area. This quest is missable if you take too long to do it or depending on how late it is in the story when you visit the Chemical Plant for the first time. It's a Soul that has a unique description and it sounds like it doesn't count for the achievement which means needing to find a regular Soul in electrical anomaly fields.

Is there a side mission related to getting the Weird Bolt in the tornado 🌪️ to spawn? Must’ve tried 20 times running up that thing and it never spawns for me. One video I watched showed a guy laying on the ground dead with a tablet and when he read it it mentioned something about the artifact I believe. Can’t remember exactly. All I know is that the bugs in this game are aggravating

@MrWhite2U The only way I was able to get the Weird Bolt to spawn was to search the corpse that the tornado threw out for the PDA, the you have to do the parkour container climbing run/jump puzzle all while being inside the eye of the tornado, it spawned for me at the end at the top of the conveyor belt after turning around it floated towards me on my left side.

To my knowledge I only have Fireball, Rat King, Snowflake & Thorn left to find (which can all be found in various anomalies around the map). I'm currently saving at approximately 100m from said anomalies & reloading the save in hopes of flipping the artifact spawns. I've been at this for hours now with no luck (even after the latest patch) does anyone here have any other ideas??

@knobzilla, you can buy thorn from barkeep at rostok sometimes, for rat king go to electric field (middle west garbage) and do the escort quest. Make sure you get rat king as the reward. Other than that I have the same issue as you. It seems like I can’t get common artifacts to spawn.

I got Soul during a mission (was supposed to turn it in but giving a PDA allowed me to keep it) It's kinda glitchy though and I don't think it counted.

The description wouldn't show up without pressing RS, and when I found another soul in an electric anomaly I got the popup you get when you pick up a specific Artifact for the first time.

So if anyone is having trouble getting this to pop and you got your soul anomaly from a mission, try looking for another.

I don't remember the name of the artifact but I got one through the story when it came out of a hopper someone was using to make vodka. Is that the only story one? I'm finding a lot of them randomly. I'm keeping at least one copy of each in my storage and then I'll go from there.

Also, does anyone know if you can start a new save file on an existing Save Slot? Like if I start a new game, can I save those files under 1? I only have a save file from Mission #14 and don't think I can backtrack to the zone proper. Just curious. :) Thanks!

@Mr Peanutbubber The artifact you found was a Crystal Thorn which can appear in acid anomalies. But it does have a unique description mentioning where it was found (in the vodka distillery). The story artifact is the Heart of Chornobyl which you get late in the story.

The Crystal Thorn is the last artifact I need and I’ve been grinding acid anomalies for hours. Is there a way to increase the drop chance for this “common” artifact?

Finally managed to get the achievement. I had multiple saves about 150m from anomalies that spawn artifacts and just kept picking them up and reloading. While doing this I was ticking them off a list(list mentioned in link within solution) for tracking purposes. I sadly only had saves at the end of the story so it took me a week of artifact farming to get common and uncommon artifacts. When I started I needed about 10 artifacts. It is completely random, some days I found 3, other days none. I highly recommend using the mapgenie interactive map( https://mapgenie.io/stalker-2-heart-of-chornobyl/maps/the-zo... ) to see where the artifact spawns are. Good luck!

@Aperture101 I need 5 more, so if I reload different saves and even delete them I will get achievement if I collect them all on same save file?

By Yo Mommafoo8132 on 20 Dec 2024 23:09
Yes all on the same save slot. Can delete / reload saves as much as you want. Just dont start a new game on that save slot as that will wipe all your saves and collectable progress. I tested this.

Just a quick one I may be reading this wrong but do you have to only collect these and keep them or can you sell them as long as you collected these the achievement pop?
0
0
By BULKI J4CK M I on 23 Dec 2024 18:13
You can sell them. A way many people farm this is load a save and even if they get a new one, reload the save and keep farming. The save slot keeps track of many things that happen without needing to be saved to a single file. Blueprints, artifacts, deaths, etc.

Okay. So I thought I got everything and the achievement did not pop. I’m assuming I found another double artifact. The Soul. I have a theory that it also has 2 versions. During a side quest you can get one with a different description. Will be testing the theory and provide feedback.

Update: I can now confirm that the Soul you get in the side mission does not count towards the achievement. Just got another one from a random spawn and the achievement unlocked.

@MysterioBadass can confirm about The Soul being a "double artifact". I've got it from quest, then collected everything - no achievement. After that I farmed a bit for it specifically - as soon as I grabbed it, achievement popped up. So yeah, despite getting some artifacts from quests - it's mandatory to take them yourself. What's good though - it's the fact that artifacts you buy from vendors counts towards achievement too.

The message to examine the artifact needs to pop up, for them to count towards the achievment, right ? I mean, if I'm not receiving it upon finding an aftifact - it means I already "found it" ?

Yes I’ve noticed that as well so I would assume so also regarding the 100/150miter method this has helped but I do think at each anomaly there is a set amount of anomaly’s that can spawn from that particular spot as I need 2 more lyre-fire and sapphire in witch I’ve spend hours now not getting I’ve also tried the complete random one with the psi effect and from the spots I’ve tried farming I’m noticing a pattern from them all that they will spit out the same artifact of a select bunch now I’ve only got my experience from this and can’t confirm this through game file but when loading the same game over and over to get the same artifact does make me believe it’s selected bunch with in that anomaly and you just have to luck out in finding the right on you need when doing the 100/150meter reload

Hopefully they fix the rates. In a survival game it's pretty bad to make legendary artifacts more common than common ones, regardless of how far along in the story you are.

Well I did get The Crystal Thorne but my achievement didn’t pop until I saved my game.

Yes all on the same save slot. Can delete / reload saves as much as you want. Just dont start a new game on that save slot as that will wipe all your saves and collectable progress. I tested this.

Hopefully they fix the rates. In a survival game it's pretty bad to make legendary artifacts more common than common ones, regardless of how far along in the story you are.

Just a quick one I may be reading this wrong but do you have to only collect these and keep them or can you sell them as long as you collected these the achievement pop?

You can sell them. A way many people farm this is load a save and even if they get a new one, reload the save and keep farming. The save slot keeps track of many things that happen without needing to be saved to a single file. Blueprints, artifacts, deaths, etc.

@Yomommafoo8132 thank you I will look for the trader in Rostok. I failed the escort mission really early on in the game and haven't been able to get the Rat King since unfortunately.

280 hours game play, at least 16 hours of just pure artifact hunting and reloading quicksaves, yet i'm still 9 short! Really soured the game experience.

Im in the same grind, 2 left Bubble and Snowflake. I have a feeling I already had snowflake from a dead soldier and probably sold it because had bad stats.

I found a dozen of legendary Hypercubes before I was able to finally find my last artifact - the common Droplets. I've been reloading 3 of my saves made at different points of the game in a circle for a few hours before I finally found it.

The message to examine the artifact needs to pop up, for them to count towards the achievment, right ? I mean, if I'm not receiving it upon finding an aftifact - it means I already "found it" ?

After an additional 25+ hours of searching ( on a previous 280 hour game slot) I finally collected the last 9 artifacts I was missing!

Nothing was bugged for me thankfully and I had already collected duplicates of the few artifacts that seem to be giving other problems. I was using the quick save/load technique at every spawning artifact location I came across and frequently rotated through several different saves from various points of my playthrough.

No matter what I tried by the end I could simply never find more than 2-3 of the 20 odd missing artifacts at a time/per day. Normally these would be found within the first 10-30 minutes even though I continued to search for several hours each time.

While it is completely anecdotal my experience leads me to believe that there is something in the randomness algorithm being used to spawn artifacts that ends up limiting the number of 'new' artifacts (when down to just a handful) you can discover to say every 24 hours. Thus it gets to a point where you are most likely better off limiting your search time to say 30 mins a day, every day rather than spending 6 hrs every few days.

FYI- My last Artifact was a Rat King, and I was worried it might never spawn since you get it from side-mission, but the NPC for that mission was bugged during my play through. Thankfully though it seems like all artifacts have a chance of spawning regardless.

After more than 144 hours, I'm now tired of it and have downloaded the UE tool. Now I fly the artifacts using Mapgenie and the following command: UETools_BindToggle # "XSetNoClipGSC true 2000" "UETools_Walk.
With the # key I always land just before the ground. No more problems with buggy artifacts and hours of walking around.
17 Artefacts and 11 Achievements (most of them storytrophies) left....

Do you have to have all of them in your stash/belt? What if you sell some of them or turn them in for a side mission? Does it still count towards collecting all of them? It better.

MrWhite2U you can sell them and give for the side mission, it's just better to have at least one of each in your stash for tracking purpose.

Maybe it's my pen, but try collecting in the same place during the day or at night. And remove all artifacts from your belt.
