How to unlock the Neon achievement in Slay The Spire - Definitive Guide

This can only be done with the Defect.

There are a few ways to generate Plasma Orbs and therefore multiple ways to get this achievement. I think the easiest way is to cast Meteor Strike three times, ideally with Holograms and likely with Snecko Oil (or against Snecko) so you get confused, reducing the costs and allowing you to have enough energy.

A few notes:

1) Casting Meteor Strike three times deals 72 damage. If the third cast kills the last enemy, you will not generate the last three orbs and therefore you will not get the achievement. Don't upgrade Meteor Strike since all it does is increase the damage.

2) You ideally want 2 Holograms. If they are upgraded, they lose Exhaust.

I got the achievement in a run where I was trying to get it, but sooner than I expected due to luck:
I intended to record the battle when I got the achievement but I didn't have a Meteor Strike at this point. Since I wasn't recording, I had to use the Xbox record function which is why you don't see the achievement pop, but it did after the three orbs from the third Meteor Strike were generated.

Echo Form can make this much easier. In fact if you only have 3 orb slots the first cast will net you 6 orbs, 3 will be evoked, giving you a nice energy boost. Then simply use Hologram to recast for the last 3 plasma orbs.

PS. I did it on the giant head in ACT 3. If you can put up the defense you got 100s of HP to trial and error on.

Its even easier if you combine echo form with metamorphosis, it will give you 10 cards that cost 0 mana and meteor stroke is pretty common.

I did that with a meteor strike, echo form, hologram and the potion that gives you a card from your discard pile which costs 0.

Two meteor strikes and an ice cream. This was a fun run laugh

Actually managed to pull off 13 orbs in one round, haha.

Specifically going for it this run I snagged an early relic that channeled 1 plasma at the start of the fight. Grabbed holograms whenever I noticed them, and finally found a Meteor Strike in a shop. No Echo Form, but did grab a Snecko Potion.

First turn against a boss I drew Meteor Strike and 1x Hologram. Figured I'd cast Snecko, it zero cost my Meteor Strike and drew the other 2x Holograms. Allowed me to cast Meteor Strike 4 times without killing the boss. Had oodled of energy leftover, ha!

Thanks for the tips, guys.

Wow, just got super lucky and acquired 2 potions (Liquid Memories) that let me pull a card out of discard pile to play at zero cost. Gained the Meteor Strike card on 1st boss, then was able to summon 9 plasma on a regular fight using Charge Battery (Had relic that gave me 4 energy to start). 2nd turn had 5 energy (+1 from Charge Battery) and drew Meteor Strike. Simply cast once, used potion to cast 2nd time, and then drank final potion to pull and cast a 3rd. Mob almost died, but didnt and pop goes the chievo! This one I was afraid was going to be the worst, and without luck it would be

Got a super lucky run where I got a Meteor Strike as my starting reward for exchanging a few Max HP. I got the slime boss for Act I. (which I considered being perfect for this situation) I also got a Charge Battery so that I could potentially get up to the 5 energy needed to cast Meteor Strike. After that, I managed to pick up a Hologram to which I upgraded as soon as I could. Then as if nothing else could have lined up any better; on the slime boss fight, I used a power potion which gave me a free Echo Form. After that, I used Charge Battery which procced twice to give me the 5 energy. I cast the Meteor Strike which procced twice for 6 plasma and then used the hologram for the last cast! (All my luck for the next 10 years is gone now so please don't rely on me for lottery numbers lol ;) )

It's worth noting that vSully's guide is very good for understanding how to do this within a run, using Meteor Strike and some combination of Snecko / potions / Holograms to cast it multiple times in one turn. If you're looking for how to physically channel nine plasma in one turn, go there. Otherwise, I'll try and help to maximise the conditions you need.

If, like me, this is the final achievement you are going for, it can be tedious to fight the RNG. My recommendation is not to go into every Defect run only taking cards / relics / potions that help the combo; you need a functioning deck outside of these things.

Focus on reliably building a Defect deck that can take you through Act 1 and 2. But take the below whenever you can:

Cards:
Meteor Strike
Hologram (and upgrade)
Echo Form

Potions:
Snecko Oil
Liquid Memories

Relics:
Snecko Eye (boss relic)
Necronomicon (from event)

Once a suitable combination of these show up, perform the combo against an enemy that can take all the Meteor Strikes to the face (Act 2 boss can be good for this).

If the cards don't fall properly by the end of Act 2, consider abandoning and using the boost from Neow at the start of the next run to assist in getting Meteor Strike.

In my run, I had
Meteor Strike
Snecko Oil
Upgraded Hologram
Necronimicon

and used them against the Bronze Automaton.

This achievement is a bit tricky, as there are only two cards in Defect's deck that channel Plasma, and it's complicated to channel 9 Plasma in a single turn with Fusion.
The most efficient way is to get Meteor Strike that channel 3 Plasma, but the downside is that it costs 5 Energy to use. Cards like TURBO, Double Energy or Aggregate can you help you get enough Energy to be able to use Meteor Strike.
The next problem is how to use Meteor Strike three times in a single turn.
Hologram lets you return a card from your discard pile, so it is a good choice.
Echo Form is a great choice, because the first card you play each turn will be played twice.

So, that is how I was able to unlock this achievement:
1) Choose an enemy (or enemies) with plenty of HP (Meteor Strike hits for 24 damage, and we don't want our opponents to perish before we channel enough Plasma).
2) Play Echo Form.
3) Get enough Energy to play Meteor Strike once (it will channel 3 Plasma allowing you to play Meteor Strike in the beginning of your turn).
4) Wait until you have both Meteor Strike and Hologram in your hand.
5) Play Meteor Strike the first during your turn (it will be played twice).
6) Play Hologram, and return Meteor Strike to your hand.
7) Play Meteor Strike again.

Congratulations! The achievement notification should pop up.

I will describe my experience.
The trophy is made on an elite enemy or on a boss using cards:
1. meteorite strike (main card, nothing without it - cost 5 energy)
2. Echo Shape (plays the first played card of the turn twice)
3. hologram (take a blow from the discard and use it a third time)
Perhaps along the way, in shops or after battles, you will find a potion of liquid memories , do not waste it - you may need it. If you have two of these potions and a meteor/strike, then you're done.
I received a meteorite strike during the transition from the second act to the third + there were artifacts for additional energy points (5 starting ones).
Echo Form , either you have this card, or use creative AI (which adds a random talent to your hand) and wait for the echo to drop. Along the way, the creative AI will spam a couple more of the talents you need.
In addition to everything, you must build your defense in such a way that the enemy cannot kill you ahead of time and at the same time not cause damage to him, because the met/hit takes away enough HP, and then it may not be enough.
The question about the cells is open (whether you need to have 9 of them or not), because when I did it, I already had 9+ of them. The cells themselves will help you spam the required amount of energy for the final combo.
The combo required 11 energy points, 5 for the first hit + 1 for the hologram + 5 for the second hit.
When you are in good defense, you can scroll through your cards until you are blue in the face) until the desired combination comes and there is enough energy.
Good luck hunter.

You definitely don’t need to have 9 slots for spheres; it’s enough just to cast 9 or more plasma spheres in one turn. I’ll also describe my experience, maybe it will be useful to someone - I used a potion that gives an attack card to choose from three for 0 energy this turn (a meteorite strike fell), two improved cards for random spheres and a potion of liquid memories. At the same time, there were only 3 cells for spheres

The Eye of Zmekko relic is a simple way to solve the energy problem. Plus two additional cards every turn - also very useful if you use the Hologram card to replay Meteor Strike.

I used 1 memory potion, 1 doubling potion (the next card is played twice), and had 1 energy potion in stock. But additional energy to play the “meteor strike” card can also be given by other cards (for example, a card that doubles energy)

In my opinion, the simplest way. It requires two potions of Liquid Memories (easy to buy from a merchant), one potion of energy and the Meteor Strike card. We drink an energy potion, use the Meteor Strike card, then drink Liquid Memories and draw Meteor Strike from the discard pile for zero, use it and again drink Liquid Memories and use Meteor Strike again. It's simple.
