How to unlock the The Golden Campaign achievement in SSX - Definitive Guide

To gain this achievement you need to collect all 30 Gold World Tour Badges.
Below is a guide / checklist to help you with getting this acheivement.

Badges 1, 2 and 3 are all unlocked by unlocking Team SSX Characters and are part of the natural progression of the story.

Badges 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21
These badges are earned for beating Griff with 1, 3 and 6 unique members of Team SSX in each area of the World Tour.
Griff and Eddie do not count as a member of Team SSX.
Below is a list that you can tick off that includes all the members of SSX you can choose from to beat Griff with.

Africa - Mawenzi - Hush: RACE IT!
TIP: You can beat him without boosting and just leaning fowards the whole event so keep it steady and boost through easy sections.
Mac is not included as you HAVE to use him the first time in this event.

Antarctica - Vinson Massif - Off the Grid: RACE IT!
TIP: Would recommend using the Wingsuit as it allows to cut a couple of corners at the beginning of the race on the right hand side.

Himalayas - Makalu - Serenity: TRICK IT!

Patagonia - Cerro Pollone - Salient: RACE IT!
TIP: Would recommend equipping the Wingsuit and cutting some corners as there is 1 big 1 that normally puts me 10 seconds ahead just by cutting across it.
Elise is not included as you HAVE to use her the first time in this event.

Alps - Grand Golliat - Hard Currency: RACE IT!
TIP: Just stick to Armour and take your time as he is quite slow down the hill.
Psymon is not included as you HAVE to use him the first time in this event.

Badges 22, 23 and 24 are earned by finishing 3, 6 and all 9 Deadly Descents which you will earn from natural progression of the story.

Badges 25, 26 and 27 are earned by finishing 3, 6 and 9 Deadly Descents using no rewinds.
You have to complete each of the 9 Dead Descents using no rewinds.
Africa - Darkness
Antarctica - Cold
Himalayas - Thin Air
Rockies - Trees
Patagonia - Gravity
Alps - Rock
Siberia - Ice
Alaska - Avalanche
New Zealand - Whiteout (You have beat Griff to the bottom of the mountain)


Badges 28, 29 and 30
These badges are earned by knocking down 1, 10 and 25 riders. (Most will get this naturally by progressing through the story as i did)
If you do not knockdown 25 riders by the end of the story simply start up a race event and knock some people off their boards.

Just as an afterthought, since I found Whiteout to be the harder of the two: Despite what it says at the beginning, Death Zone does NOT count as a Deadly Descent, so you can't use it for finishing a Deadly Descent with no rewinds.

I'm having trouble unlocking the badge for 9 deadly descent using no rewinds, I did them all with no rewind but it won't unlock. Do you have to win against Griff in the New Zealand deadly descent for it to unlock?

Re-write my last comment so i don't confuse people.
The final descent in the game called "Death Zone" does not count towards the achievement, it is only the 9 Deadly Descents listed above.

After doing all 9 deadly descents three times each without using rewinds I think I can safely say that there is a bug, The gold badge still won't unlock for me, I'm stuck at 88%. I could be wrong but I don't think that you need to win on New Zealand because I got the no rewind drop bonus even if I didn't win the race. Anyway I'm done trying to get this.

I got the achievement earlier when going through each to find the 1 that i was missing, could be a bug or might just be that you have missed 1.

Originally done this as a list for myself to tick off and realised nobody had made a guide yet so i thought i would modify my list and add in some useful tips.

Important clarification: you need to win (i.e. beat Griff) in Whiteout to get credit for badge 57.

This griff race in New Zealand is starting to ruin the game. Did it twice in a row but didnt beat Griff. Not even making it half way now... grrrr

I finished the World Tour with only a few knockdowns and was having a hard time trying to get more. Finally realized your best bet is right at the start, so I'd start a race, swerve into everybody, then jump off a cliff and die. Rinse and repeat. Much easier than doing whole race courses.

The Africa Deadly Descent is easier to do with pulse goggles in my opinion than with a headlamp if you are going for the all descents with no rewinds. Great Guide. You have a lot of good guides for SSX. So thanks for helping me!

I had trouble in completing the rider knockdowns as well. I discovered that right off drop in Root Down: Trick It (Antarctica) I was almost always able to get a knock. Then I'd just immediately restart the drop, occassionally quitting altogether to check my progress. EZ

It's so mean that Lhotse - Death Race does not count. White Out is so hard even with 3 rewinds. And including to beat Griff it's a desaster compared to the other descents. Thanks EA great job like the unfair AI in NFS...

Nice guide Zavistic.

Beating Griff in new zealand is difficult, but nowhere near as difficult as getting 10M on that last tricky in Siberia (which I needed for the "gold medal every drop in one range in explore" badge). I used my level 11 eddie, level 11 pulse goggles and my lvl 9 wingsuit. Its like playing the impossible game or super meat boy. You will eventually get it, after much frustration.

Get all 30 badges under the WORLD TOUR category:

Unlock Zoe, Elise and Alex/Tane, Moby and Kaori/ Psymon, Mac, and Ty comics.
Comics are little stories about each member of Team SSX, they can be unlocked by playing through World Tour, after you unlock each character by racing the person to be unlocked with Zoe, their respective comic will be unlocked.
Finish 3/6/9 Deadly Descents.
Simply finish Deadly Descents, using any gear, rewinds or character. You must complete each range's Descent in World Tour before you may advance to the next range.
Finish 3/6/9 Deadly Descents using no rewinds.
A little bit more challenging as you must complete all nine descents with any character, as long as you do not use rewinds. You are allowed to use equipment to earn this badge.
Knockdown 1/10/25 riders.
Knocking down other riders is only possible in World Tour mode, in order to knockdown a rider, you simply snowboard through them and your character should push them over. Knocking over the same rider multiple times using rewind DOES work but note that rewind will not affect other riders, limiting the usefulness. Note that you cannot knockdown ghosts, as they are immaterial.

Format for following badges is: (Character you've already beat him with)Range - Peak - Event - Average time/score.
If a badge has multiple runs listed then any combination of the runs may be completed in order to earn the badge.
Beat Griff in Africa with 1/3/6 unique members of Team SSX.
(Mac)Africa – Mawenzi – Hush (Race It!) - 2:55:80
Beat Griff in Antarctica with 1/3/6 unique members of Team SSX.
(Moby)Antarctica – Vinson Massif – Off the Grid (Race It!) 3:05:62
Beat Griff in the Himalayas with 1/3/6 unique members of Team SSX.

Beat Griff's ghost in the Rockies with 1/3/6 unique members of Team SSX.

2-7. Beat Griff's record with 6 different characters in Africa, Antarctica, Himalayas, Rockies, Patagonia and the Alps. It’s very simple, perform these Badjis with more or less pumped up Persians.

8. Complete 9 death runs. Story badge

9. Complete 9 death runs without rewinding time. There is nothing complicated.

10. Push 25 opponents. Just don't be afraid to crash into enemies

In New Zealand, on the Whiteout Highway, to achieve this you need not just

drive the track without returning time. but also to overtake Griff, which is moving pretty well there.

And if you get there second, without returning time, you still need to drive to follow

roll up.
