Stop that Droid
Restrain R2-D2
How to unlock the Stop that Droid achievement in STAR WARS Battlefront - Definitive Guide
You can get this achievement during the "Rescue" section (2nd of the 3 phases) of a Battle Station match in the Death Star DLC - where the two teams are fighting either to get R2-D2 to the extraction point (Rebels) or to stop him from doing so (Empire).
If you are on the Empire side, and R2-D2 is on the move, shoot him. He will pause and get a bit frazzled. Hold X when prompted to restrain him, and the achievement should pop!

I'd advise using Personal Shield as well since there'll most likely be lots of enemies around. You don't HAVE to hit him yourself as long as you're the one that does the X button prompt. I got lucky and respawned right next to him after someone shot him.

Very easy achievement to get. Much easier if playing with friend(s). Was able to help my cousin and friend get in the same game. Bacta bombs help a ton as you can throw one on whoever is restraining and pretty much guarantees they will be able to get the job done.

So I thought I would expand on this a little bit because the other solutions are frankly a bit bare bones and do not adequately prepare you for the clusterfuck this inevitably turns into.
You need a minimum of 16 to get this game mode going and the lobby holds up to 40, which means disaster is unavoidable during the course of artfully dodging a pile of randoms.
To begin with. this game is split into 3 rounds. The first round requires blowing up a random Star Destroyer, because I guess he deserves it more than the other ones that are about. There are several points where the rebels must destroy TIE Fighters, and it is also how this entire game type begins. The easiest way to progress is for the Imperial players to suicide by crashing. Once that is accomplished, magical invisible Y Wings do... something, and the vulnerable parts of the Star Destroyer are highlighted. All three must be destroyed by the rebels, and then the command bridge becomes a target. Blow that up and this round ends.
Now you land inside the Death Star and the Imperial players get a chance at this achievement. Even if you started with no or few randoms, your lobby is inevitably completely full by now and the randoms do as randoms do and fuck up what you are working on.
R2D2 is the objective and is always highlighted on everybody's screen. The nuance of this part seems to be lost on most, so the long and short of it is that your team should be murdering everybody and interacting with the objective when you are told to attack it, and should be doing nothing and/or hiding when you are told to defend it. For example, when the Imperials are told to defend it means that nobody can get the achievement, so the boosters on the Imperial side should be hiding and not much else while the rebels re-enable the objective.
Actually receiving the achievement is the easiest part in theory, since all you have to do is shoot R2D2 a few times then run up and hold X for a moment. The rebel who gets R2 moving again actually becomes R2D2, so ideally you want one of your boosters to do that and take R2 to a reasonably quiet location while everyone else is inevitably engaged in the enormous firefight.
While it seems counterintuitive, you usually have a better chance when there is a large firefight around R2. Everybody picks their target and isn't paying much attention to anything else, which gives you good opportunity to pull what C3P0 and R2 did in the beginning of New Hope.

heres how i did. i used a personal shield as well as grenade and bacta bomb. got it on my second game. hope that helps.
This achievement can be unlocked in the 2nd phase of Battlestation in the Death Star DLC. (Rescue phase, the only phase where you are NOT controlling a fighter). You will have to be playing as the imperials!
Your objective is to defend R2-D2. Whenever an opponent holds X on R2D2 for a few seconds, he will become R2D2 and he can move towards the extraction. To restrain him, shoot R2D2 while an opponent is controlling him, and then move over to him and hold for a bit. My advice for this is to use personal shield. Shoot R2D2, then activate the personal shield and make a run for it. I personally didn't even shoot him and I could still restrain him.
This is pretty tough to boost as you need 12 or 16 players to start a battlestation match.
