How to unlock the Two Minds, Fighting As One achievement in STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN - Definitive Guide

In order to make the rounds as efficient as possible, we will be customising our gems for certain characters; in previous versions of the game it was very possible to grind these Achievements without the use of any gems, but as of the most recent update, this is no longer the case. The main things we want to focus on here is increasing Player 1's Cross Gauge, and Player 2's defence stats; for the majority of these Achievements we will be using Yoshimitsu vs Hugo.

Head into the Gem Unit Customisation and pick Yoshimitsu; each character has three different sets that they can customize with gems to give them three different options while in battle, for convenience sake we are going to edit the first set. Remove any gems that are already equipped and use RB/ LB to navigate to the 'Boost Gem' category; from here scroll down until you find the following gem:

#207
Onslaught Lv. 1
1 Slot
Gauge Acquisition +20%
Connect with 3 Special Moves

This is all you will need with this character so we will now back out to the character select and this time pick Hugo. We want Hugo so that we can leave him with as little health as possible, so remove every Gem already equipped and find the following:

#051
Iron Wall Lv. 2
1 Slot
Defence +20%
Attack -10%
Get hit by 3 Special Moves

That's it for Gem Customisation, so we can now back out to the main menu and go into Versus. Set the Rounds to Best of 7 and the Time to Infinite. Move your first controller to the left side and your second controller to the right and pick Yoshimitsu + Ryu and Hugo + Poison respectively.

Cross Arts are similar to Cross Assaults in the way that they require a full Cross Gauge and use both Characters in your team. Instead of having your partner come onto the screen and fight alongside you, you'll both perform your respective Super Arts together dealing a fair amount of damage. Pick Yoshimitsu and Ryu as your team; against Hugo and Poison with your handicap as 75% and your Opponents at 100%. The reason why we are picking Ryu as our partner is because he has a very quick Cross Art animation that deals damage with every hit, whilst Yoshimitsu's Super Art has one hit that deals damage then proceeds to act like a grab (Where damage is only dealt once the move is complete, although in this case the damage will only register once the first hit of the second Super Art hits) meaning that if the first hit does not defeat the Opponent you will have to wait for the Ryu's side of the Cross Art to play, causing a lot of time to be wasted.

You'll need a full Cross Gauge, so start using your Sword Poke Windmill's (Half Circle Back + Light Punch (X)) until it is full. At this point Hugo's health will be extremely low and you can proceed to Tag out Yoshimitsu and switch with Ryu to use your Cross Art (Quarter Circle Forward + Medium Kick (Y+B)). After a very brief animation Ryu will do his Super Art and the first hit should connect and defeat the Opponent. Assuming you have already completed the 300 Cross Art Finishes, another 200 should unlock you this Achievement.

If you are in need of perfects, you can have your Handicap at 100%, but otherwise keep it at 75% as Perfects will override any other type of Victory.

Sadly, these are a bit more annoying than super arts and Pandora activation. It will require you to equip whatever gem units you can to boost your cross meter, ideally by landing special moves if you can. Either way, the character you'll be using is Yoshimitsu. The move you'll be using is half-circle backwards + punch. This is the best meter bolstering move in the game and you'll need to do it for both Cross Assaults and Cross Arts.

Cross Arts are executed using a quarter circle forward + Medium kick and punch. It should grab the opponent and combine the two super arts of the characters, doing some major damage to your foe. When you're doing this, you'll want to lower your foes to a sliver of health so the initial impact K.O's them rather than having to watch the full animation. This saves off quite a few seconds, saving you some serious time in the long run.

You can swap the characters out to work towards the 500 total after you've earned your 300 finishes in order to cut down on loading screens. Every little bit counts, right?

To perform a Cross Art you must use up 3 blocks of your Cross Gauge, a Cross Art is performed by inputting (+) for every character and team in the cast. The Cross Art can be compared to Street Fighter IV's Ultra Combo's where at the cost of all your meter, you will perform a very damaging super which utilizes both of your characters. The start of the Cross Art usually begins with the beginning of your point characters Super Art and ends with your partners ending part to theirs.

Utilization:
When using Cross Arts, if you have a common team you use online be sure to test out the Cross Arts with both characters in each others positions. Lets say you are using Xiaoyu and Chun-Li, test it out with Xiaoyu in front and Chun-Li in back when you use the Cross Assault and vice versa to see which one deals more damage. Character placement is important and you should be considering it in just about every mechanic in the game.

Also keep in mind that, when you use a Cross Art, the opposing character getting hit will not retain any sub health they had during the match. This will leave them in a horrible position even after they get tagged out as they won't have any health they can recover.

You can keep track of your progress towards this trophy under "Player Data" in the main menu, select Player Records and it will display your overall progress.
