How to unlock the Please Use Other Door achievement in Superliminal - Definitive Guide
The nook is found in Chapter 2 (Optical).
In the room where you have to form the giant light green chess piece, you'll notice that there's a door half way up the wall on the left of the room (from where you form the chess piece). Use the chess piece and the checkerboard cube to form stairs up to that room, and go to the end. Don't forget to use the fire alarm next to the door and the fire extinguisher in the nook.

Level 2: Optical
Towards the end of the level, you'll come to a room where you need to first align a painting of a cube up near the ceiling, then use that cube to climb onto a ledge and catwalk where you then need to align a painting of a giant green chess piece. It is a very obvious room because of the huge painting of the chess piece. In this room, while on the catwalk facing the chess piece painting, look on the wall to your left, near the top of the wall and near the center, and you'll see a pretty obvious doorway. You'll need to use both the cube and the chess piece to make two steps to jump up to get into the doorway. Once in, walk down the short hall to the little room at the end and unlock this achievement.

The game contains a nice amount of references as you progress through the story. One set of easter eggs (and no, I am not talking about the actually easter eggs you can find throughout the game - there are no trophies for finding those...yet)) are the four totems from the Christopher Nolan movie "Inception". The only totem that is tied to a trophy is the character Arthur's Red Die.
As you progress through Optical (Level 2), you will come to a room with a giant king chess piece painted on the wall. To move on to the next part of the level, you need to pull a black and white checkerd box from the ceiling, then use it to move up to the higher platform and on to a yellow railing so you can line up the king piece image and remove it from the wall, opening a path to move further through the level. Before you leave, use both the block and the king piece to enter the high doorway on the left side of the room.
On your way, make sure to hit the fire alarm and the extinguisher and contine up the hallway and turn left. In the trashcan in the alcove there will be the red die. Seeing the trashcan should be enough for the trophy but feel free to grab the die and use it to progress if you like.
Unrelated to this trophy, please note there is also a secret chess piece (a small blue knight piece) high up on the ductwork you can access using both the box and chess piece or your new object

At Level 2.
A room with a huge painted chess piece. We take out the cube, then use it to climb onto the ledge above and take the chess piece. If you look directly at the figure, to the left of it there will be the passage we need. You need to use a cube and a figure to get there.
