How to unlock the Sentinel achievement in Tainted Grail: Conquest - Definitive Guide

The Sentinel class is part of the Watchers of Tuathan faction, so fight using low cost Arrow (Red) cards to deal damage, Quiver (Orange) cards to draw more arrows in exchange for Ultimate charges and Maneuver (Blue) defensive and buff cards. Blue cards will also have one or more extra states that they will switch between every time the card is used (e.g. Feints side 1 gives 10 Armour this turn and 100% of Armour as Barrier, Feints side 2 (called Unbreakable Feints) gives 150% Armour as Barrier). Note that while you can generate a lot of Barrier each turn, any leftover will vanish at the begininng of your next turn. Cards stay flipped between battles, so you can save powerful uses for when you need them, or can avoid bad effects by using them before ending a fight. The Sentinel unique ability is that for every hit that they deal, the Phantom will deal an extra hit for 50% damage of the first. The Sentinel Ultimate summons a storm of hits from the Phantom, which will target random enemies. Depending on how many charges you have, you will get a different amount of hits, as well as higher damage. Ultimate Charges are gained by using Arrow cards, one per card.

Combat as a Sentinel is slightly more technical than most other classes, but is the simplest of any of the Watchers. Use as many Feints/Unbreakable Feints as you need to avoid damage, then pelt the enemy with arrows. Don't use your Ultimate to deal damage, as you will be consuming the charges to instead draw more arrows through Quiver cards. Your deck should consist primarily of Arrow cards, with several additional Quivers and perhaps one or two Stances that are not Feints, if you fid yourself taking too much damage. In terms of Passive Skills, choose anything that boosts damage output, or provides you with extra Armour or Barrier. There are not really any must haves, as the Sentinel cannot really hit massively high single damage numbers, it is more about the volume of fire you put out.

Fight every battle you see, you should reach level 20 in the third area, just before you fight the 3rd guardian.

I found using your Ultimate to be the best strategy.

Playing as small a deck as possible is key for consistency, and quivers typically only draw from the remaining cards in your deck. If you don't have any arrows left, you waste your Ultimate charges and your energy. There are lots of Passives that increase the damage of your Ultimate ability quite a lot, with the best ones being the Masteries to double your shots and to have your Phantom shoot also. I'd win most of my rounds within 3 turns at difficulty 1 doing that.

Thank you for all these guides. Makes the learning curve for the mechanics of each class less of an issue. For the Sentinel, I tried Eurydace's strategy due to the first couple passive traits I earned and beat the run on my first try. Thanks to you both.

I support the above comment. Make use of your Ult. I only had one passive and I could delete screens easily.
