How to unlock the Spring Cleaning achievement in The Bureau: XCOM Declassified - Definitive Guide

It eventually took me three playthroughs to unlock this achievement - it is very missable.

There are seven investigations you need to complete throughout a single campaign. An investigation can be distinguished by the square box above an NPC's head with an exclamation mark through it. Each will task the player with completing various objectives within the XCOM base. Some of these investigations will reward you with dispatch missions, which will help your progress towards the "Can't be Everywhere at Once" achievement.

The Bureau: XCOM DeclassifiedCan't be Everywhere at OnceThe Can't be Everywhere at Once achievement in The Bureau: XCOM Declassified worth 68 pointsComplete 6 Dispatch Missions within a single campaign

These are available between the main missions of the campaign. This achievement should pop before Mission 5, "Crack in the World." If it hasn't, you'll have to reload the campaign and start again! If you have missed one in particular (for me, it was the "Vendetta" mission) you are able to load a game to that point and it will retain your previously completed investigations to that point.

The investigations are:

Radio Interference
After "Mission 1: Invasion!"
This can be done before your first talk with Director Faulke. When you talk to Agent DaSilva, ask about your radio. You will need to use the radio, and then the note next to it, to get the sequence; 250 N 892.

Go across the corridor, and talk to Information Officer Chulski. Use the conversation prompt "I heard a strange signal..." and then give her the required information.
Range: 250
Direction: North
Frequency: 892MHz

Find the Missing Silacoids
After "Mission 2: The Doctor" and whichever Minor Operation you chose.
Go to the laboratory. Doctors (Heinrich) Dresner and Weir will be talking. After Weir gives you the tour of the lab, go upstairs to find Heinrich.

In order to find the Silacoids, you need to use your Battle Focus ability (B Button) to track their glowing trails. However, they're always in the same place. The first will be in the airlock when you leave the lab; the second is in the offices downstairs, in the male toilets, and the last group of them are upstairs, near Weaver's office. Destroy them all and return to Heinrich.

Reward: "Nanotechnology" Dispatch Mission.

Sleepwalkers
After "Mission 3: Signal from Beyond"
You will find Heinrich in a corridor with a soldier in a wheelchair. He'll task you with finding a number of agents in the base who may be infected with the Sleepwalker virus. Use the conversation prompt "What sort of help do you need?"

You are then required to scan the Ready Room, Operations, Engineering and the Lab, again using your Battle Focus ability. There's one infected agent in the Ready Room, and one in the Laboratory. Scanning them allows you to talk to them, and send them to the Infirmary.

Go upstairs in the Laboratory to talk to Heinrich to complete the investigation.

Reward: "Sleepwalkers" Dispatch Mission.

Keeping Things Secure
After "Mission 3: Signal from Beyond"
In Engineering, talk to Barnes. You may find he tries to talk to you if you scan Engineering for the "Sleepwalkers" Mission. You can go back at any time to talk to him, or you can do this mission whilst doing "Sleepwalkers". Barnes will inform you of an uninvited guest.

Go into the next room and interrogate the visitor. I used the "Work with Me" dialogue. Afterwards, return to the first room and talk to Barnes.

Reward: "The Russian" Dispatch Mission.

Vendetta
After "Mission 3: Signal from Beyond" - only available after Weaver goes AWOL
As part of the preparation for "Not of this Earth", you have to talk to Chulski and Weir. When you go back to talk to Faulke, Weaver leaves the base. At this point, the "Vendetta" mission becomes available.

Go downstairs and talk to Chulski. She sends you to talk to Agent Percy, who is in the Ready Room. After learning some information from him, you have to go to Weaver's office.

Use the painting to reveal a safe. The combination is on the other side of the room, taped to a filing cabinet. Use it to open the safe and read the file inside. This will conclude the investigation.

Test Flight
After "Mission 4: Not of this Earth"
Go to Engineering and talk to Barnes. He asks you to use Battle Focus to scan the Avenger and locate fuel leaks. Go down into the bay, and scan the three leaks. You may have to move closer to get them. Afterwards, you have to seal a number of valves to secure the ship.

These three valves are always the same - inside the Avenger, it's the top-left valve. Outside on the dock, it's the one on the left, and the one on the right.

Return to Barnes to complete the investigation.

The Cure
After "Mission 4: Not of this Earth"
Go to the Laboratory and walk up to Heinrich. He will then ask to talk to you, and send you to Doctor Hara. He's upstairs in the laboratory, where a number of these investigations have taken you. Hara will ask you to talk to a soldier infected with the Sleepwalker virus.

Use the conversation options: "Time to Wake Up", "We're about to win the war" and "Come on, it's me, Carter." This will wake the agent up.

Return to Heinrich to conclude the investigation.

Reward: "Cure" dispatch mission.

Just wanted to thank you for an awesome guide and a potential glitch in the achievement.

I have been following this guide and everything worked great up until The Sleepwalkers and Keeping Things Secure Investigations.

When I activated The Sleepwalkers Investigation, I proceeded as normal and found all of the Sleepwalkers, but instead of going to finish the investigation I went through to engineering and talked to Barnes to activate The Russian Mission. This is where I believe the achievement has glitched for me. I did the mission and by the time I came out of the dialog, it did not give me a mission update to complete it, although it did reward me with the dispatch mission oddly enough. Instead, Barnes just had the Investigation Icon above his head but every time I tried to talk to him, it was unrelated to the mission, just game dialog about the Avenger. When I went to Heinrich in front of the Sleepwalkers in the lab, it didn't even give me the option to speak to him.

I thought the game might need to "update" itself so I sent out dispatch missions and did a minor operation to get out of the base, hoping the loading would fix it. Unfortunately, it did not. I tried clearing my cache as well to no avail.

I just thought it might be a case of the game being a bit silly, so I did Vendetta and proceeded with the game. I came back to mop up the last two investigations, hoping the achievement would pop but it didn't.

I know it isn't my fault because I followed the guide closely, except in the instance described above.

I just thought I'd post my observations here so that future players can avoid my mistake.

Time for a third playthrough now :/

Thanks for posting though and thumbs up from me!

You might add that you cann miss "Test Flight". If you enter the ship too far, you will get inside it and you can only start the next mission but not get to Barnes or outside anymore. Happened to me: I had to reload from an older save (it's not too dramatic, but a bit annoying).

Great guide, though! clap

I'm sorry to hear that's been the case for you. I'm not immediately sure what to suggest, beyond trying a second playthrough (or loading an earlier save) to see if you can get it to pop. As I said, it took me three attempts to get it!

Good luck, and let us know how you get on!

The investigations take place between your major operations when you are free to roam the Bureau Base. Every person who has an investigation ready for you has an orange exclamation mark over their head. Make sure to finish all available investigations before starting a major operation otherwise you will miss this Trophy. You can load a previous savegame but you might have to replay quite a bit of the game depending on which investigation you missed.

Here the list of all investigations and what you have to do:

First visit in the base after Mission 1 "Invasion"

Investigation: Radio Interference
Start: Agent DaSilva in your office
What to do: When you talk to Nico ask him about your radio. Inspect the radio and the appearing note. It reads 250 N 892. With these coordinates you have to go to Officer Chulski. She is in the room right across from your office. When talking to her use "I heard a strange signal..." and then give her the coordinates.

Second visit in the base after Mission 2 "The Doctor" and one minor operation

Investigation: Find the missing Silacoids
Start: Dr. Dresner in the Lab (after the small tour)
What to do: After you have talked to Dr. Dresner you have to track the Silacoids using Battle Focus. You will find the tracks on the ceiling. They use the air vents to move around. The first one will attack you in the airlock when you try to leave the Lab. The next is in the small recreational area in the men's toilets. The remaining are upstairs left of Agent Weaver's office. Report back to Dr. Dresner when you killed all of them.
Unlocks: Dispatch Mission "Nanotechnology"

Third visit in the base after Mission 3 "Signal from Beyond"

Investigation: Sleepwalkers
Start: Dr. Dresner in a corridor next to a soldier in a wheelchair
What to do: When talking to Dr. Dresner pick "What sort of help do you need?". He will then send you to scan the Ready Room, Operations, Engineering and the Lab using your Battle Focus. You will find one infected soldier in the Lab and one in the Ready Room. After scanning you can talk to them and send them to the infirmary. When you have found both head to the Lab and report back to Dr. Dresner.
Unlocks: Dispatch Mission "Sleepwalkers"

Investigation: Keeping Things Secure
Start: Barnes in Engineering
What to do: After talking to Barnes he will send you to talk to a captive in the next room. When talking to the captive select "Work with me." and after the chat report back to Barnes.
Unlocks: Dispatch Mission "The Russian"

Investigation: Vendetta
Start: Weaver and Faulke in Faulke's office
What to do: When you enter Faulke's office Weaver will leave. Follow her to her office and talk to her. She'll send you off to talk to Officer Chulski and Dr. Weir. Now go back to Faulke and Weaver will leave the base (this is where Vendetta actually starts). Return to Officer Chulski and talk to her. She'll point you towards Agent Percy. After chatting up Percy head to Weaver's office and check the safe behind the painting. The lock code is behind you on a photo pinned on a file cabinet. Open the safe and read the document to finish the investigation.

Fourth visit in the base after Mission 4 "Not of this Earth"

Investigation: Test Flight
Start: Barnes in Engineering
What to do: Head down to the bay and scan the Avenger. You will find three leaks. Scan them too. Now you have to use three valves to close these leaks. The first valve panel is to the right of the Avenger. Close the left and the right valve. The middle one stays open. Now head into the Avenger. The valve panel is to your left. Close the valve on the left while the middle and right one stay open. Return to Barnes to complete the investigation.

Investigation: The Cure
Start: Dr. Dresner in the Lab
What to do: Dr. Dresner will send you to Dr. Hara who is also in the Lab. He wants you to talk to an agent who turned into one of the sleepwalkers. Go into the room and talk to the agent. Select "Time to wake up", "We're about to win the war" and "Come on, it's me, Carter". This will free the agent. Report back to Dr. Dresner.
Unlocks: Dispatch Mission "Cure"

Missable!

Each investigation is conducted between Operations while roaming the facility. Ensure you take care of investigations prior to initiating Major Operations or progressing the story. Objectives are indicated by an exclamation mark over the person. The investigations and locations are as follows;

Radio Interference (After Mission 1: Invasion!)
Find the Missing Silacoids (After Mission 2: The Doctor and one Minor Operation)
Sleepwalkers (After Mission 3: Signal from Beyond)
Keeping Things Secure (After Mission 3: Signal from Beyond)
Vendetta (After Mission 3: Signal from Beyond)
Test Flight (After Mission 4: Not of the Earth)
The Cure (After Mission 4: Not of this Earth)

Investigations are short side quests that take place at the XCOM home base between major operations. NPCs that are related to Investigations will have a orange speech bubble with an exclamation point floating above their head. Successfully completing these will often unlock dispatch missions. Pressing will bring up a list of current objectives and completed quests for the current base session.
All Investigations must be completed for before the next major operation is started, or they will be missed/cancelled.

Investigations List:
After Mission 1:
Radio Interference - (Starts Automatically). Unlocks Dispatch Mission: Gearing Up
[Note: Heindrich mentions something about testing a device at the shooting range. He's lying to you, there's no quest.]
After Mission 2 and One Minor Operation:
Find the Missing Silacoids - Heindrich, Located in the Lab. Unlocks Dispatch Mission: Nanotechnology.
After Mission 3:
Sleepwalkers - Heindrich, Located outside the Breakroom. Unlocks Dispatch Mission: Sleepwalkers.
Keeping Things Secure - Barnes, Located in Engineering. Unlocks Dispatch Mission: The Russian.
Once Mission 4 is Available:
Vendetta - Officer Chulski, Located in the Comms Room. Unlocks Dispatch Mission: Vendetta.
After Mission 4:
Cure - Heindrich, Located in the Lab. Unlocks Dispatch Mission: Cure.
Test Flight - Barnes, Located in Engineering. Unlocks Dispatch Mission: Test Flight.

1. As soon as we find ourselves in the office, we talk to Da Silva about the radio, listen to the radio, go to the office opposite, talk to the radio operator in the dialogue, select 1 250 2 north 3 892

2. After the mission to rescue the doctor and any side mission (before it is completed, you will not be released from the command center), we go to the laboratory - we talk to Dr. Drezner, he gives the task to kill the glots. 1 we will find as soon as we leave the laboratory, 2 in the push under Faulk’s office, then they will run to the 2nd floor, kill and turn in the quest

3. After the quest with Da Silva, Dr. Drezner will give a quest to search for lunatics, it’s almost impossible to miss - he will meet you in the corridor, just go to the indicated places and scan and return to him

4. Then talk to the pilot, he will give you a quest to interrogate the red spy. He's in the next room. Talk and turn in the quest to the pilot

5. Before leaving for the Fuhrer (after Weaver leaves), talk to the radio operator, then to the guy along the arrow and into Weaver’s office and open the safe (code on the cabinet)

6. After the quest with the Fuhrer, go to the pilot - you need to repair the ship. Scan 3 places and open the valves outside xox and inside xoo (x-use)

7. Go to Dr. Drezner, he will ask you to cure Da Silva, enter the room and talk to him (if you make a mistake, they will let you choose again), return and get the achievement
