How to unlock the Recidivist achievement in The Callisto Protocol - Definitive Guide

This should be your 3rd playthrough after your first blind one and NG+ on MaxSec. If you even remotely struggled with the later, don't even bother with Hardcore.

ALWAYS manual-save before quitting the game, or if you want to set checkpoints to reset progress in case you fuck up. The save-system in this game is fundamentally broken so don't just rely on those.
If the cheevo doesn't unlock, reload a save from the maingame (NG or + doesn't matter) and then reload the manual-save before the final run-sequence. Should unlock then. Emphasis on should, HC NG+ didn't unlock right away either, so maybe restarting/reinstalling the game is also necessary.

Hardcore is essentially just MaxSec, BUT
- stomped corpses only have a ~10-20% chance of dropping something ( Stealth-kills are about 90-95% )
-those drops are usually 1/3 of the usual droprate
-all sale-values are halved, so Health-Injectors are really just fancy Energy-converters. I've used about 3-4 total and only at max inventory when I could pick up something immediately to replace it.
- Blue crates are always guaranteed drops
-Enemy health is insanely bloated, so don't even bother upgrading the pistol. I've got the first 2 upgrades for the shotty for Ferris, but that's optional since he's a pushover and the game also constantly spawns ammo during the fight around the well in the middle of the arena.
Make sure to save all shotty ammo from the moment Dani hands it to you though. You're gonna need at least 5-6 shots for the 3rd Twohead and the more you got for the final boss, the better.

The very first upgrades should be GRP level at least at 2 and the recharge rate at least 1. Yeeting enemies out of bound (OoB) or into spikes/gears etc will be your greatest weapon.
1v1s with the baton are still easy, but will take considerably longer and pretty much require perfection as you can't afford to waste health on a single enemy. I usually smacked them with the heavy attack, started swinging with light attacks and continued comboing after the enemy got back up.
Also, the way the recharge-rate works is, that each time you stop using it a timer starts running down and once (at lv2) 2 minutes have passed you're back at full charge. Haven't tested Lv1or3 yet. This can be abused by simply not going forward to avoid triggering further spawns at multiple occasions.

Throwing enemies off the map is one thing, but you can occasionally also put them on top of things to "kill" them since the game considers them OoB for some reason. This comes in handy during the final Asylum-Gauntlet ( aka the 2nd hardest part after THAT Habitat-part) where you can simply put enemies on top of the beds.

As for difficulty spikes, if you made it through "Releasing gate valves" and the following corridor of doom unharmed you pretty much made it. Below and Colony are piss-easy while also providing a lot of dosh.

Two heads can ALL be cheesed btw. Either watch the video or read the quick summary.
#1 can be simply pushed off the train, by dodging and quickly running into him; rinse repeat. Takes about 30 seconds.
#2 has a little slope in one of the buildings. If he steps back or is pushed on top of that, he immediately dies along with any lackeys present. This time you can also pick up the Decoder.
#3 takes about 8-9 minutes and some rhtym, but it certainly beats fighting him "fair". You can push him out of the gate you enter the room in. Make sure to stand directly in front of the gate once he's out. Now wait for him to do one of his attacks, hit light attack ONCE and wait again. Don't touch the left stick and only swing after he attacked you. Otherwise you will get killed.Once he drops on his knees, you have to let him back in, drop him again by using the shotty and then push him out again.

^Scratch parts of this. The secret to not getting one-shot is standing in either of the corners of the gate. Simply spam RT and use RS to stay in the corner.
#4 fan goes brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Damn achievement didn’t unlock for me even after following the steps. Honestly the only thing more difficult than playing through this a million times is unlocking achievements

You got lucky. Last patch was over half a year ago and I just re-installed and did the same, old tiring podrun for the 50th time and got jackshit.
Good reminder to never support this dogshit company in any way ever again.
Glenn quitting like a bitch from his own studio was the cherry on top of this pile of dogshit.

After doing most of the game on Xbox One.
This achievement and several final transmission achievements wouldn't pop.

Finally upgraded to a series x, and tried again; still no luck.

I'm not even going to try final transmission again.
Very disappointing for an otherwise (imo) phenomenal game.

Just like in last office, you can enable all help modes in the game settings. The contrast will help you see enemies better, especially those eggs that grab the player. Help with dodging, aiming and qte help. If you killed, then during the killing animation you can press pause and reload the CT so as not to watch these animations. You can die in extreme sports. Progress is saved only on CT.

And there are a couple of places you can skip. Just running through enemies and climbing into the ventilation. Also, if you run away and see a CT save, you can reload it and the enemies will disappear. And remember that bosses can be killed by the environment too. Let's say, fan blades. Spin around him and try to lure him into spinning and provoke an attack in that direction. But the drop from the boss will not fall this way.

PS Or push the boss into a trap. If the boss falls in front of you, you can collect the drop from him.

P.S. All two-headed ones can be destroyed very simply without using shooting. Hyde

If you start right away, go through in extreme mode, so as not to bother going through the “Maximum security level” mode. Trophies for the “Maximum level” do not drop out, so you will have to go through the game 3 times.

I saw almost nothing difficult at this difficulty since auto dodging helps a lot. The main point on this difficulty is to spend money on improvements as thoughtfully as possible.
1. The baton is the very first thing that needs to be improved (only the left and right branches).
2. Do not create a machine gun and a combat pistol (quick-fire) (firstly, they are not needed any more than shotguns, and secondly, it is better to invest this money in other improvements).
3. I bought basic improvements from the original pistol and two shotguns (capacity, damage, stability), do not buy alternative modes (1-they are expensive, 2-everything goes smoothly without them, 3-these modes consume a lot of ammo).
4. I left improving the glove for ni+.
5. It is better to ransack all the secondary premises, even if only a little at a time, but money accumulates due to them.
6. For the final large mutant, 2 first aid kits and a full inventory of cartridges for three guns are enough (half of the cartridges are still left after the battle). The tactic with him is first you need to shoot off the shield on his head, then in this room launch about 5 explosive cylinders into the open head and simultaneously throw kamikazes at him and if there is no energy on the glove, then you need to spin around the arena so that the boss is next to the kamikaze and shoot (and so how the boss doesn’t have a health scale, it’s unclear whether his health is wasted or not from shooting at other parts of the body).

All these side helpers will not save you when you need currency to upgrade at least the basic functions of the baton. Please note that on this difficulty all items have become TWICE cheaper for sale, but the price for purchase is standard! Those. By the end of the first playthrough, you won’t even have enough currency to upgrade your baton. Mobs drop almost nothing. 3-4 credits may fall, just as there are now 5-6 credits on the shelves. The spitters, which used to give under a hundred, now, God willing, they’ll throw off 23, otherwise it’s completely empty. The essence of your successful passage: pumping up the two extreme branches of the baton, glove and T4 shotgun. Simply use the pistol as you progress to inflict Crit on enemies. There are printers before the fights with the two-headed ones. Craft ammo. One or two full boxes (24 rounds) is enough. Just before the platform and the first meeting with him, have 4 batteries in stock, because... they will help you quickly and painlessly survive the attack of 16 monsters coming from all sides. Just throw them off the platform. Go only to those nooks and crannies where there are blue boxes, do not waste time looking for 5 extra credits. This is just a mocking feature from the developers, as is the very fact of the mandatory double playthrough for the sake of 100% of the trophies. For the final boss fight, keep plenty of shotgun ammo in stock. Well, don’t forget about the red balloons that you throw at him first. Throw small explosives at him too, if the glove has a charge. In general, the mode is not that difficult if you have beaten the game before. Now you just need to make the most of your surroundings. And by the way, try to master a strong blow with a baton as early as possible, because... it will come in handy when there are traps and abysses. Turn around with the enemy so that you are opposite the trap/chasm and, having delivered a light blow, hit him with a powerful blow so that he flies away forever.
