How to unlock the Help From Above achievement in The Talos Principle - Definitive Guide

To get this, you will need to summon one of Elohim’s messengers to help you solve a puzzle. However, bear in mind that this will void the Solipsist achievement, which requires you to solve all sigil puzzles without assistance. You are therefore better off waiting until after you have completed all 90 of the sigil puzzles unassisted, then restoring an earlier back up to get this achievement.

The helper worlds lie behind the boarded-up entrances, of which there is one in each world. You cannot access these until you get the axe, which is located on the right wall in World C.

Once you have the ability to summon a helper, simply walk up to the altar in the puzzle you are in and press A.

I assumed I would be able to get this after getting all red/silver sigils. Hilariously this not the case. You must unlock messenger and use it while still having a red sigil available to collect via play or restore from checkpoint.
(I overwrote all red checkpoints with silver ones )

+1. You should however mention this achievement is missable. It has to be done BEFORE collecting the last red sigil.

Where is the first red Sigil if starting again with a new game?

The first red is in A3 (An Escalating Problem).

I can confirm you can do this then reset to a previous checkpoint. As long as your messeng count reverts back (speech bubble with? In it) you can get this and the solipsist achievements.

Yea this is missable. I thought I'd finish the game and reload a backup, but backups overwrite themselves up to 10 most recent. I have no backup to before I had red sigils to collect.
Edit: Took almost an hour to get this from starting over

Had to redo it from the start- just over an hour front Fresh Start - Followed GRAND NOBLE's suggestions and they helped speed my way through except I just played through all yellow and green missions until I could do World C and the Extra worlds

Just got this after finally achieving Soliphist. I then restored the previous savegame, and at the altar of the sigel level I just finished for Soliphist, I pressed A for Seek Council. A messenger helper appeared and disappeared right away. He didn't seem to help in any way so I don't know how this is actually supposed to help if you actually need it. This achievement Help From Above didn't pop right away. You have to go back to the altar and center on one of the QR codes (for me it was the lower one) and it'll give you the option to press A for "Seek Help" I believe. Once I did this the achievement popped! Also, nicely, the savegame from after completing this level was still there, so I didn't have to do this level all over again. After this pops, just go back and restore your later savegame to save you the trouble. (So maybe the messenger would've actually helped me if I kept doing the level? I dunno as I bailed because it was not an easy level to do all over again (Whole Lotta Jamming wasn't super difficult but took a bit of time and sneaking past the patrolling orbs always gives me a bit of a fright).)

Dang I beat the game and had to start from scratch. Just as an explanation, you don't have to replay/finish every single puzzle, you should SKIP every single RED/sigil puzzle along the way.

However you do need to finish all the intro/tutorial puzzles (Non red ones), and all the "World A" Puzzles (Green and yellow sigils, skip red). The Greens open the "World B" elevator. For me to get enough Greens to get from to "World C" (to get the axe), I had to unlock 4 of the 5 special powers (Connector/Hexahedron/Fan/Recorder), so get those yellow puzzles also.

So as a way to do the minimum amount of puzzles: Get to World A, Do all the Green puzzles first (that you can with your amount of powers), then do the yellow puzzles to unlock new powers. Then you might need to finish off green puzzles that needed powers.
- Go to the World B and repeat those 3 steps until you have enough Green sigils to open the World C elevator. Then you can grab the axe and do any of the Special Worlds on World A,B, or C (I chose World A).

Once you have a "Messenger" (showing as a "?-1" icon in the bottom. Go to any RED sigil puzzle (easiest 1 is in World A).

- Even after beating the whole game, when I resarted I ended up re-doing a couple puzzles I didn't need to do before I realized which ones I could skip.

*MISSABLE*

WARNING: unlocking this achievement will void Solipsist (30G) on your current save. Refer to Step 1 and 2 in the roadmap to ensure you unlock Solipsist (30G) first before unlocking this achievement, but that you also unlock this achievement before you miss it and need to start over too.

To unlock this achievement, you first need to go to any of the three Messenger abodes (refer to Sacred Grounds (30G) for doing so). Once there, solve the four puzzles at the four metal domes, and then use the puzzle parts inside to open the door to the temple. Head inside the temple and solve the fifth puzzle to open the tomb and get a hint option (you'll see an icon on the bottom of the screen in the middle). Now, you need to head to any red sigil puzzle that you haven't completed. After entering the purple barrier of it, there should be an altar of sorts on a nearby wall. Interact with it a few times to confirm you walk to summon help, at which point the Messenger will come and paint a QR code on the wall. Scan it to unlock this achievement.

You may have noticed small altars in the Red Sigil levels that when used tell you that you have to awaken a messenger first; this trophy is what those altars refer to. This has to be done BEFORE acquiring all 49 Red Sigils, go into any Red Sigil puzzle and use the altar there. Be sure to use the Restore Backup feature in case you still need the Solipsist trophy.

Get a hint from the Messenger. Puzzles with red sigils have an altar to obtain a clue. You can receive one hint from one Messenger. Just three tips.

Attention! To get the Solipsist achievement, you must complete the game without using the Messenger tips! Therefore, you will have to replay.

Before requesting the Messenger's hint, he must be awakened at any level A8, B8 or C8 (passage behind the wooden barrier) in any of the temples.
