How to unlock the TR3 Who Goes There? achievement in Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft - Definitive Guide
Done in TR3 - RXTech Mines.
Mutants are the weird looking things that can either crawl around the floor with their legs ripped off, or the ones that have legs are pretty tough fights.
Flamethrower Guards are the "friendlies" on this stage. DO NOT SHOOT THEM.
It's fairly easy to arrange for this achievement but you need to be careful with the third "section" as the flamethrower guy has an annoying chance of dying by falling into the pool of water nearby (possible bug?). If that Guard doesn't kill at least 2 mutants then you'll miss the achievement.
2 mutants are at the beginning. They're the first two mutants you see behind the fence followed by the first Flamethrower Guard you see. Screenshot below.
The rest are within the middle minecart line.
1 mutant + Flamethrower Guard is where you get off the minecart mid-track (assuming the main station is the "start/end"). I didn't even see the fight happen as the Flamethrower Guard just took care of the mutant quickly.
4 mutants are then directly after the part of the stage where you have to shimmy left and right along the wall cracks down a cliff. There's a mutant inside the first wall crack and there's a mutant at the very bottom, but you can kill these yourself.
Inside the final wallcrack is where you crawl in to progress. I suggest saving the moment you enter the crawlspace/wallcrack as there's potential for the guard accidentally dying here, causing the achievement to be impossible.
Once you've saved, crawl forwards and a mutant will spawn. DO NOT SHOOT THIS ONE. Run past it quickly and follow the corridor into a larger room with a pool of water. Here you will see the Flamethrower Guard. In addition to the mutant that's following you from behind, there are three mutants in this room, BUT TWO DO NOT SPAWN UNTIL YOU RUN FURTHER INTO THE ROOM.
I've noticed that if the Flamethrower Guard doesn't detect any mutants to kill, he will wonder round aimlessly, but unfortunately this is what can get him to fall in the water. If this happens, load your save.
So instead, while the Flamethrower Guard is fighting the one mutant that's already there, run forwards up to where I show in the screenshot (essentially the opposite side of the room entrance). This should be enough to spawn both the mutant to the right, and the one hidden off to the left.
While those two mutants are keeping him busy, check up on the mutant that you ran past and encourage it to get closer to where the guard is.
If all works out, the guard will kill it, and the achievement will immediately unlock.
There is another Flamethrower Guard with three mutants in a large room containing some Stone Tiki Head Statues, after lowering the vehicle into the water and having to swim for a longer-than-usual time for this chapter. But I found that organising him to attack the mutants was a lot more annoying than organising the ones I listed prior. In fact I'll even go as far to say as it's not actually possible to get either the mutants or the Flamethrower Guard to cross the bridge or go into the corridor behind since both are raised, so I wouldn't even rely on this being your final chance. You're welcome to try if you really cannot get any of the others to happen though.
