How to unlock the Hercules achievement in Track Field - Definitive Guide

Just two elements to worry about here but they can be a pain in the backside if you screw it up.

1) The Speed / Power bar

Unlike the other events so far, this will automaticly fill up slowly going faster and faster. Contrary to common sense, I find that instead of 'counting' to or ' listening' to the swings, just look at the bar filling up! It might take a bit of practice but you can make a superb throw if you aim anywhere in the last half of the last square of the power bar.

2) Angle

Your looking at around the usual fourty five degree mark as with any of the previous angled events, however the degrees seem to rack up quicker than usual so just hold the button for a shorter time and learn to get the angle right.

And then, hopefully, that's achievement unlocked!

I have to agree with those who time the throw after the 8th turn. It's a little more tricky, and aggrivating if you don't have very good rythm, The counting method is also very useful in the case of going for the Perfection achievement.

I have a good one.
The count in the downside of the screen goes til 1500.
So forget to look your character and just look the count. When it reach 1470 or 1480 press throw button and try to reach 40º. Probably you'll get this achievement.

your method did work slightly better than other methods I've tried but I have to say this achievement is more down to luck than anything else, thanks for the help though

I tried every method of timing recommended in each guide and found using the power bar to be easily the best way for me, so thank you for the tip.

I have a consistent method for the hammer throw: Use the pause button to your advantage. If you repeatedly pause the game you can time your throw perfectly. I was aiming for between 1480-1490 on the counter. This also helped get the perfection achievement. :)

You will need good speed and timing to get this achievement. Just tap the LS to start swinging the hammer. Count the number of cycles and you need to let him do 7 or 8 rotations before timing your release. Aim for 45 degrees (just hold for about half a second) and if you timed it right it should sail over the 90m mark.

How I got this is, watch the speed bar. It may take a few tries but watch the speed bar till it hit the last square and let it get about half way and aim for a 40 degree throw. and if you do it right, you'll hit it just about everytime
