How to unlock the The Harder They Fall achievement in Transformers: War for Cybertron - Definitive Guide

For those of you who haven't finished the previous chapter Aerial Assault, giant spoiler!

--------------------

Okay, now that you know and I've driven those who care about spoilers out of the way, here's what you do to defeat that giant meteoric dinosaur crashing down on your planet.

I played as Ironhide on Medium difficulty but this tactic should apply to any combination just may be harder to pull off.

You'll be going off to find Trypticon once he landfalls and at one point will have to clear a path to reach him. Blast the glass-looking cylinder lying in a bunch of rubble and you should clear a hole to drive through.

Look for the weapon called Scrapmaker. This will come in especially useful in the second stage of this chapter.

Not much further you will feel a rumble and the ground will crumble, at which point you'll fall to your doom! hahahaha
Well, to Trypticon, which may be the same thing. ;p
Ironhide will start pointing out the weaknesses to Trypticon's armor but you'll have to find how to reach those weak points.

Before Ironhide points out the weak points, avoid Trypticon's attacks by going up to the second floor to the far left (left as you face the boss) of Trypticon. The wall there should hold off any beams and shots ol' Tryppy lobs at you.

Once the Autobots agree on a plan, you should see a blue interact beacon light up on the same left side towards the center of the second floor. Interact (X button) to activate an assembly line of hanging containers to go past the giant dino.

Shoot those to have them dump their contents on Trypticon, eventually overheating that shoulder's cannon.

Once that happens, the Autobots will talk again and agree to go to the other side. Now the right center switch should light up and you can repeat the same process for the other shoulder.

The right side's cover isn't as extended but should serve well now that one shoulder cannon's out.

For health there's energon cubes on both sides of the second floor (I think they regenerate at each stage of attack, but don't quote me, right now). And I think some ammo on the first floor if you happen to run out.

Don't be afraid to transform and drive (using the left trigger to accelerate and the right stick to steer). That can help you avoid some shots coming your way that simple running could not. Just may take some getting used to, but if you've played the rest of the game up to this point, you should be good enough at it by now.

Once both of the shoulder cannons go, concentrate on the chest. Two bars on Trypticon's chest panels should light up. Shoot them directly, using the evasion tactics from before, and once they're gone, you'd have beaten the first bout, falling down yet again to the depths of Cybertron.

Okay, shake your hands and loosen up, because this next part will cause you some frustration.

Trypticon's not dead, big surprise, and he's extra angry now, pulling out his tail cannon to gun you down and dark energon crystals to mob you with crystal spiders.

Immediately transform to vehicle mode and drive around, keeping ahead of the stream of tail shots that will come at you. Then hide behind the junk pile to your left to shield against the barrage of energy balls that come next (Missile Incoming will appear before they come). Stay until you see the tail start to aim as pods begin to drop and run like crazy away from it and jump as the tail strikes to avoid the shockwaves.

You have the Scrapmaker? Good. This is one of the few guns that can shoot a steady stream of powerful shots. If you haven't used it before, don't be surprised if it starts out slow, it will speed up after a couple of shots as you hold down the right trigger.

If you don't have ammo, get some to the far right behind another pile of scrap. This will regenerate after a time, so you will have a chance to restock.

The two energon cubes at the front center will not regenerate so use them sparingly.

This is the one time you don't have to wait for the Autobots to come to a consensus. Find the glowing red panel atop Trypticon's head, arm yourself with Scrapmaker, and hold down the right trigger to shoot a steady stream at that panel for one full ammo bar.

On reload don't shoot again. The pods I mentioned before will hatch into crystal spiders. Either shoot them or melee them to scrap and continue the evasion techniques I mentioned above. After every tail strike, aim for the glowing red panel again.

You will go through a total of 3 panels: head, right shoulder, left shoulder.

Frustrating thing is if you die you start all over from the first panel. Also be careful of the edge when you go for the energon cubes. I had the misfortune once to overshoot and fall to my death.

Trypticon should be steamed and fall into the pit he had been hanging on to the lip of, apparently.

For those of you who want the First We Crack the Shell... achievement, walk up towards the lip facing Trypticon before he starts falling to get that claw in you. I didn't go for it, though he almost got me anyway. lol Just didn't want to go through all of that again.

Give yourself a pat on the back, you've won! Congrats!
