How to unlock the Hard the Hard Way achievement in Trials Evolution - Definitive Guide

View the video to see the best methods for each obstacle. You can see the controls in the bottom corner.

Practice makes perfect and never reset unless the game makes you crash.

Try your best to get the moves down, and it's not as terrible as it may seem.

@DeadliestWARI0R, with speed and once on the log, push your front tire down while holding RT. As you gain speed, shift your weight to the back to lift your front tire, and you will begin a wheelie. Keep the wheelie low, but use full throttle. As your back tire is close to leaving the log, shift your weight a little forward again to lift the back tire, to gain the most distance. Level your bike out during the jump to make sure that you make enough contact with at least one tire so that you'll end up making it.

Sounds kinda confusing but I recommend watching the bike in the video a few times during the part, and then watch the controls for it.

Trials Evolution "Hard the Hard Way" achievement breakdown:
map: "The Ascent" bike: Rattler 125cc
(start): full throttle change to forward posture when front tire is parallel to top of rock and throttle over
(checkpoint 1): full throttle forward posture
(checkpoint 2): position rear tire @ "e" of Red Lynx logo neutral posture, full throttle. change posture forward when front tire is at the end of the plywood ramp leading onto the first concrete cylinder
(checkpoint 3): position rear tire at start of wood platform just after the flaming torch, neutral posture full throttle. change posture back on the tires to land flat or in a slight wheelie to make the gap
(checkpoint 4): as front tire begins the climb up wood planks, full throttle forward posture
(checkpoint 5): position rear tire at the far left side of the tire. Neutral posture full throttle. change to forward posture when front tire crosses the beginning of the plywood transfer onto the stump
(checkpoint 6): position rear tire at the start of wood platform to the right of the stump between checkpoints 5&6. Back posture full throttle. As rear tire crosses the light for checkpoint 6, pull back on posture enough to allow front tire to land on top of the log across the gap
(checkpoint 7): Position rear tire @ the broken tree one bike length behind checkpoint 7. Neutral posture full throttle. Change posture forward as rear tire reaches the top of the log & throttle to checkpoint 8
(checkpoint 8): climb tires and position rear tire to rest against the second tire *bike will remain balanced without gas or brake. back posture full throttle. Bunny hop barrel by pulling back then changing posture forward *change to forward posture before rear tire passes the boulder in the background.
(checkpoint 9):forward posture full throttle climb over
(checkpoint 10):forward posture full throttle adjust at halfway point to land level on the rock. Continue to the top in same fashion *nervous twitch achievement can be gotten at this point before the finish line, although much easier to get on "Home Run" track. I spent less than 30 minutes tuning this in so much easier than it appears. Even got a time fast enough for gold medal. Hope it helps

Thankyou for this!

I was stuck on the log jump part and just couldn't work out what posture to use, one look at your solution and I did it.

Great step-by-step guide, which should be able to help anyone who's having problems with any area of the track.

you are welcome. I find the videos help, but it was hard to see the rider's posture at each checkpoint

Just a video of me getting the achievement, only one really hard part, which is the big gap at the 50sec mark in the video.
This isn't really a 'guide' video, but maybe you can learn from it anyway.

You are required to unlock the track "The Assent" before you can attempt this achievement, the bike is unlocked from the start.

Skill and patience are required for this but a solid 30 mins or so getting familiar with the track is all it should take.

When i first started going for this i was likethis is ridiculous i cant even get past this first jump thing. but then i found a great method for getting past the first part. if you push forward on the left stick right when you get on the ramp leading up to the gap and let go when you get to the gap. hope this helps beacause this was the only hard part for me
