How to unlock the Two is Better than One achievement in Trials Rising - Definitive Guide

Managed to do this achievement fairly easily by myself in around 10 mins.

The setup is fairly standard. Simply hold your controller as normal, and place the second controller on the desk in front of you. The idea is that you play the game as normal, but you also tap the A button on the second controller with your pinky finger to take advantage of the 120% throttle. The entire track can be done without leaning on the second controller, and also without breaking (although in the video below i did break near the start when dropping down from the curve, but this isn't needed unless yr going too fast).

Here is the video:

Awesome vid, thanks! I'll be following this for sure.
Shame they didn't have "Stonehenge" from Spinal Tap on this one stage laugh

Took me a lot longer than 10 minutes though Hairy haha but thanks for the video. I was able to do it solo as well! Checkpoint 4 was the hardest for me. At least the final steep incline before finish allows you to fall back down carefully without faulting so it just took some persistence. + 1

Last achievement I need. What an annoying one - My pinky skills are apparently straight ass. Thanks for the guide. I'll keep trying knowing it's possible this way now!

This took me about an hour to do solo, still had to do some leaning with the 2nd controller but got it eventually.

Another tip is that I found it easy enough to also reach the X button to brake on the second controller so if I needed to switch my pinky finger from A to X, it was pretty accessible, even though I rarely used brake on the second controller.

Great guide - although I found it easier to control the throttle on the 2nd controller with my index finger.
just means if you need to break, to mash x instead.

Took me about an hour to pull this one off. Felling the muscles around my pinky finger aching a little bit now, hahahahaha. Also had to do some leaning on the second controller and breaking at checkpoint 5.

I have another little tip. I got to nearly to checkpoint 12 and I rolled back a little too fast. Well the back rider hit the wall on a uphill too hard making the rider fall off the back. I finagled my way to loosen him up and I ended up getting free from it. I made it to checkpoint 13 then went to the finish line and I got the chievo for having 0 faults. So if you end up losing your back rider without near checkpoint 12 you can still finish the course and get the achievement as long as you don't fault.

thanks @AH IGamerScoreI, I actually find that final checkpoint easier if i bail off the second player with the Y button first

I found it easier to use a middle finger instead of a pinky on the second controller. This also took me about 10 minutes redface The same middle finger could also be directed toward anything related to Trials of the Blood Dragon

Great tip, did it exactly as you suggested. Took me a good 25 minutes with about 15 restarts, but got it in the end! Little finger, no extra leaning or breaking.

I had a hell of a time with this, but a friend stopped by yesterday who had never played before and we knocked it out in two runs. I just told him when to lean or gas and it was super easy. Great guide though!!!!

I literally just rubberband down the second controllers throttle, and do the rest myself with the other controller. Pressing the brake kind of cancels out the other controllers throttle imput. I got to the last checkpoint and hit the B button for no reason. So now I have a broken controller and cant complete this...

Took me a good few attempts but eventually got it, hardest section is between checkpoints 4/5/6 as it’s very easy to fail. Only ever touched the brake on the second pad to make sure I stayed on the platform at checkpoint 5.

Did the end checkpoint in one run from the previous one and got lucky with my landing after numerous failed attempts at the end.

I had the same issue as the other guy in the comments posted where both controllers were controlling the front guy. You need to go into settings --> kinect & devices --> devices and accessories --> and then scroll over to the second controller and go into the settings for that specific controller and unassign your main profile from that controller.

How it happens is if you have two controllers that you use that are both assigned to your main profile, trials won't read that second controller as a guest so all of the controller inputs just go to the main guy.

I also found it easiest to rubber band the throttle down on the second controller and just take my time clearing each obstacle. When you brake with your main controller it cuts throttle to the second controller so it's quite easy to control, the tandem just also happens to be a massive pile of shit and it takes a bit of time to learn how to ride it.

CP 4 was my personal hated checkpoint trying to land on CP 5 without falling off.

Solo was pretty easy, just the start you need to lean forward on both controllers and then for the rest of it, leaving the back person on forward lean (whilst rubber banding the gas) gets you through it all. & yeah bailing out of player 2 for the last part is defo easier. Now that's the game 100% complete - roll on the next DLC :D

Apparently the A bottom on my second controller wouldn’t always respond properly so when I flew back at the part for the finish I always flew of the track :/ switched controller and got it :,)

The landing on checkpoint 5 can go eat a big ol' bag o' dicks.

Very stupid achievement🤯🤯.anyway i found it easier If you use your right Thumb with a second controller instead of pinkie...plus i found easier for vertical ramp before finish If you lean to the right BOTH rider and give only partial gas for front rider and full gas for back rider (the one on second controller)

I just got this, found another tip that helped me a lot in the comments of Maka91's video guide - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0mfOQBVR0Y

Comment by Anomaly92:
I can recommend to put 2 Controllers directly on top and use the index fingers for R2/L2 on the upper and the middle fingers for R2/L2 on the lower controller. It's not that comfortable but you have 100% throttle/brake control and just have to deal with the weaker leaning mechanics.

For me this make the CP4-5-6 section a lot easier and more consistent. Minor downside is that when placing 2 controllers on top, the left trigger of the top controller can push the left stick of the bottom controller, changing the back rider's lean

Also, as Maka points out in his guide, at CP10 make sure to go full gas from the checkpoint, otherwise it's easy to overshoot your jump and fault

I ended up just using both risers with no brakes. Right pinky on p2 a button left pinky on p2 left stick. Duplicated all leaning movements with p2.

Place two controllers on the desk in front of you (or any flat surface, I used a dinner tray) and use your left hand (thumb and index finger) to control the riders and your right hand (thumb and index finger) to control the gas (A-button).

Moving both riders gives much more control over the bike and makes it way easier to pass the obstacles.

Also don't stop on the platform with checkpoint 5 but instead bunnyhop to checkpoint 6 immediately. The momentum is enough to pass the gap and it is much more consistent this way.

I had issues in the beginning where both my controllers were controlling the same character on the bike.

I was able to fix this by signing in with a 2nd account, not a guest. Guest sign ins kept resulting in the above bug.

The tapping of the A button on the 2nd controller never felt comfortable for me.

I ended up sitting my second controller on a desk in front of me. The first controller I held right above the second, with my right index finger on the RT for the first, and then my right pinky on RT for the second. I gripped the bottom of the 2nd controller with my left hand, to prevent it from sliding.

For checkpoint 5, I found consistent success by stopping on the platform, reversing to the very left edge, then going full throttle with a small bunny hop. If you get stuck on the ledge, you may need to push forward on your 2nd controller's left stick (make sure to reset your character to the middle, though).

Also... another tip, even though checkpoint 5 is considered the toughest, make sure you practice the later checkpoints as well (even after faulting on 5 for a run). The worst feeling is to finally get past 5, only to fault on one of the later ones.
