How to unlock the Flag waver achievement in Unreal Tournament 3 - Definitive Guide
Personally I feel the Reflection Map works best for this gametype in terms of speed. Every match *"almost" consistently is under 2 minutes, then factor in the time for the next match to load and start on it's own (about a minute). I also have found that if you have two controllers (one signed in as a guest) that the AI's gameplay is more consistent and that you will never have to worry about only 2 bots capturing the flag.
So the settings are as follows:
Go to Multiplayer > (sign in your guest, by pressing X) then Host Match > CTF > Reflection > Player Match > Max Players Set to 6 > Minimum Players Set to 0 > Private Slots to 6 > Spiltscreen (Yes) > Bot Skill Level: Godlike > Bot Combatants 1:2 Ratio > Goal Score: 3 > Time Limit: 60 minutes (*see more below) > Force Respawn: Yes > Now hit X to select the available mutators and select Speed Freak and Weapon Replacement (you then want to change all weapons to the Impact Hammer) > Accept > Start Match
Ok, now that this is done all you have to do is hit A to go ready on both controllers and let the games continue to play themselves out. You can even remove the batteries from your controller to save power and the games will still continue.
The reason that I have recommended adding more bots is because that it allows for more bots to be available to take and capture the flag, which in the end results in quicker games.
*The reason I recommend using a 60 minute round time and also used the word "almost" in a contextual sense is because I have observed two different behaviors that the enemy AI initiates that will cause matches to take longer. The first is that the AI will designate one particular bot to capture the flag only and will send the rest out as scouts, this often makes games take longer and sometimes results in the next behavior which is where the bots will all freeze. Now some actually are completely stationary and others will only move within a certain parameter, so this means that nobody will be capturing the flag period and that a 60 minute match can easily ensue unless intervention on your behalf is initiated. So you will want to check on these games periodically (around every hour or so) to be sure that they are being completed.
Hope this helps, and the main reason I created this (and it's so long) was in reference to the 100 Warfare and Vehicle CTF Match achievements as well. This strategy helps to maintain proper completion of the matches and warns you of possible AI behaviors that will turn this from a 5 hour achievement into a 20+ !

Don't you need to capture at least 3 flag's everygame so that means you cant afk and go "do" something else the whole time.

With this method you can go "afk", only the enemy AI needs to capture 3 flags. You simply need to Complete 100 matches, not win them.

ok...we need to add some real info here...first of all it is not just complete 100 ctf matches...they must be done with at least 3 captures to count...said that...choose the map facing worlds cause it is very linear and the bases are very close...also go to the mutators and choose speed freak option...this will make the godlike bots run faster..still in the options choose 1 player vs 2 godlike bots. If you do exactly what i am saying each match will take just 2 minutes to end.
just to help specify make a player match on Faceing Worlds, CTF, max players 3, minimum 1, private slots 3, and then add in Speed Freak and just sit back and relax for a few hours
You can boost with 16 bots or play these normally in mutiplayer. If you're going for "Around the World" or "Hat Trick" then that will count for about 20 of these matches.
Note: You can also do this and other complete 100 match games by setting up a game with just you against a couple of godlike bots, then going off and doing something else until it unlocks.
