How to unlock the Super Runout achievement in Vancouver 2010 - Definitive Guide

I didn't find this one particularly hard, as the other reviewer did. Here was my strategy: Hold RT down the entire time. This track can be completed without using LT at all. The key for me was staying on the inside track. Make sure you pay attention to where the upcoming gate is, and the one after that. Stay on the inside lane and it will save you a tremendous amount of time.

On a couple occasions I thought I was finished when there actually was one or two more gates to complete. It may look like you're done but just be aware. The last 2 checkpoints you will hit with around 1 second left, but the actual finish line immediately follows a checkpoint. You'll end up with about 9 seconds remaining.

This challenge is easily in the top 3 hardest. Personally, the one I spent the more time on is this one. I hope your are good at downhill. I hope that at least you don't hate playing it. You will be losing often. At least, you often lose at the middle or near the start.

So, what do you need? Not a flawless run. Rather a perfect run, a godlike run, a [insert epic adjective here] run. Not any less. You will need to have a perfect start, to keep inside the gates, to optimize your path (the straight line is the fastest path), to turn the less you can (because turning = losing some speed). It should be obvious, but hold down RT the whole run. Don't carve (LT).

You'll see your times varying greatly from one run to the other. You can sometimes have a two seconds difference by the first gate for two runs that look similar. Be happy when you are quicker than normally, and hope you don't lose it down the slope.

Good luck. You will need it.

Start the race with 20 seconds time banked and complete a Men's Downhill run with time remaining. You receive 10 seconds for each special gate you pass through. This can be very rough, as there is little room for error. A missed gate is lethal, so hit them all. Tight turns and pumping while turning is key. Knowing the course is half the battle, but by this point you have seen this run so many times, that this won't cause too much of a problem. A flawless run is what this demands though, so get to it!
