How to unlock the In The 90’s achievement in Vancouver 2010 - Definitive Guide

This isnt as hard as you might think, the tricky part is keeping your balance over 90.

Wind - dont look at flags or your coach etc (like it says in the tutorial) watch the wind gauge bottom right of screen, wait for it to go one way the as it starts to drop towards 0 again try to hit A as close to 0 as possible.

Push Off - You only have around 5 sec to get this so dont waste time and try to hit A when the power bar is full.

Launch - You want to start your launch just as your reaching the bottom of the slope, right before it curves and begins to slope upwards.

Balance - Ok the tricky bit, as soon as the launch has locked and you leave the end of the ramp start button mashing LT and RT as quick as you can this should keep your balance above 90.

Landing - Once the landing metre comes up you want to try to hit A just before it reaches the bottom, dont leave it to long otherwise you risk faceplanting the snow.

I tried a few techniques for balance and this definately worked best when i finaly got the ach i hit:

Wind - 98
Push off - 100
Launch - 96
Balance - 97
Landing - 94

Hope this helps!!

The balance part of this event is ridiculous, but surprisingly just mashing the triggers worked like a charm. Thanks

Good tips! I didn't even realize there was a landing meter (it goes by so quickly and I was always paying attention to my balance meter). I was scoring from 5 to 95 on all my landings and not knowing what the heck was causing the difference.

I couldn't get the mashing the buttons for balance to work for me but I found looking at the horizon at the top of the screen and pressing either LT or RT depending on which way you started to lean really helped.

Bean, thank you. My focus was on the skis.

I was having trouble with the spamming of the triggers, but if you start the mashing as soon as you leave the end of the ramp rather than waiting until the gauge appears, it works like a charm.

Similar to the "In the 80's" challenge; you must score a 90+ in each of the 5 point groups in a Men's Individual Large Hill (LH) run. I had the most trouble with balance. You have to KEEP the balance high, not make it high. Nail the wind and lift off and go for max air time. After many attempts, though, you will have this too.
