How to unlock the Ten Tests Complete achievement in Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown - Definitive Guide
The License Challenge is a series of routes with different rule twists to them. You fight a string of enemies trying to win while also satisfying some outside requirement. These first five are very easy, though the last couple may mildly test someone new to the game. The second set of five aren't much tougher, but the 10th one will at least require you to be OK at the game.
Note that if you lose at any point during a license test, either by getting KOed or failing to meet the license requirements, you fail the challenge and must try again from the beginning. Some license tests have filler "Win this match!" bouts which are normal rules fights; treat these as you would in arcade mode.
01. Striking Test 1
Fight order: Akira, Pai, Lion, Sarah, Kage.
"Connect with 5 or more strikes and win!"
Akira and Lion.
"Win the match!"
Pai and Sarah.
"Connect with 1 or more counter hits and win!"
Kage.
You'll get this easily since you'll have to hit opponents to win. The only way this is missed is if you're incredibly throw happy or were to somehow get a ring out (can't recall if that's even possible on the stages used). The AI is pretty easy here, so I don't think tips are necessary.
02. Guarding Test 1
Fight order: Pai, Jeffry, Jean, Lei Fei, Lau.
"Block 5 or more strikes and win!"
Pai.
"Block 6 or more strikes and win!"
Jean.
"Block 7 or more strikes and win!"
Lau.
"Win the match!"
Jeffry and Lei Fei.
Still very easy. Let the opponent attack you early and hold block. Once the counter hits the required number of blocks, fight back and win.
03. Defensive Move Test 1
Fight order: Eileen, Brad, Pai, Lion, Jean.
"Win without letting your opponent evade 7 strikes!"
Eileen, Pai, and Jean.
"Win the match!"
Brad and Lion.
The enemy is still too simple to evade enough here if you stay agressive. These are fast opponents, but as long as you don't let up, you'll knock them out before they can do much anything.
04. Offensive Move Test 1
Fight order: Kage, Shun, Jeffry, Goh, Brad.
"Use 1 or more offensive moves and win!"
Kage, Jeffry, Brad.
"Win the match!"
Shun and Goh.
Offensive moves are when you tap up or down then quickly press all three buttons (guard, punch, and kick). This causes your character to evade into a more offensive position, swiftly sidestepping the current line of focus. You just need to do one here, so get it out the way at the start of the first match and do your usual to win out.
05. Health Bar Test 1
Fight order: Goh, Kage, Akira.
"Defeat an opponent with more health!"
Goh, Kage, Akira.
Even though we finally drop from five to three fights on this challenge, this still may be tough for a new player. The opponents here are decent and have just a bit more health than normal. The AI still isn't much though, so anyone should be able to ram PPPK combos all the way to the end. I'd aim for mid-range strikes, especially against Kage since he's always low to the ground.
06. Combo Test 1
Fight order: Brad, Lion, Aoi, Taka, Jean.
"Perform comboes with 2 or more hits and win!"
Brad, Aoi, and Jean.
"Win the match!"
Lion and Taka.
These don't have to be fancy. Again, PPPK comboes work here just fine, and you'll satisfy the requirement on the second punch. All characters have simple linking, predictable but fast moves like this. Use them and win.
07. Throwing Test 1
Fight order: Wolf, Vanessa, Lion, Pai, Aoi.
"Perform 1 or more throws and win!"
Wolf, Lion, and Aoi.
"Win the match!"
Vanessa and Pai.
Throwing is generally a P+G move. Any throw will do, and the AI isn't advanced enough here to avoid letting you close in. Take your favorite character and just make sure to get a throw in before defeating the enemy.
08. Special Rules Test 1
Fight order: El Blaze, Wolf, Akira.
"Win a match where recovery after attacks can be cancelled!"
El Blaze, Wolf, Akira.
This is so much fun, like hyper mode in Fighting Vipers. Basically, the "lag" from attacks are removed during this challenge so that moves which otherwise would never combo now can, chaining to your imagination's limit. The enemy is too stupid to enjoy this freedom, so you'll beat this test easily.
09. Special Moves Test 1
Fight order: Vanessa, Lei Fei, Vanessa, Jean, Vanessa.
"Win without letting your opponent perform 5 parries!"
Vanessa, Vanessa, Vanessa.
"Win the match!"
Lei Fei and Jean.
The Vanessa gauntlet isn't too tough because while she will likely get in a parry or two, she's unlikely to rack up five in a visit. Note that the parry count resets on the next battle. The AI is decent here, and Vanessa in particular won't completely fall for repetitive basic combos.
10. Win Streak Test 1
Fight order: Jean, Vanessa, Jeffry, Eileen, Kage, Eileen.
"Win 6 matches in a row!"
Jean, Vanessa, Jeffry, Eileen, Kage, Eileen.
No filler here, and this can be tough for new or rusty players. The lineup is full of heavy hitters, and the two Eileens can catch you off guard. Stay focused on mid-range attacks against the last three, and don't let Eileen deceive you thinking she's a gnat not worth your time because all those little strikes do add up over time. She's good at interrupting slower attacks, and her short stature makes her tough on someone like my Jeffry. AI's still not too bright here, but the computer will put up a fight. Be sure to fight back as blocking and waiting for an opening will put you in danger.

Just got your message on XBL, and glad you were able to get it. As far as the 10th challenge, I'd say any quick striking but strong character works OK. Taka's fine as is Lau, Jacky, Lei Fei, and others. The real problem seems to come if you allow the CPU some time to retaliate.

Much better solution than the other chump who only listed the Challenge levels (like we can't read it ourselfs.. smh) w/o any assistance on how to accomplish the goals.
Dude just wanted to be 1st and that is why he has thumbs down in his so-called 1st to post solution.
Thumb up to you though sir. Definitely did not understand how to pull off Challenge #4 until I read your solution. Thanks.

I followed the achievement guide in the walkthrough for the first 8 tests and used Akira and spammed the button
I had difficulty completing the 9th test against Vanessa so I looked in the comments and according to Colbadiah777:
"Choose Taka-Arashi (the angry looking dude in the top left corner of the character select screen) and pretty much just hold the left thumbstick or the directional pad away from the opponent while repeatedly tapping the button."
For the final test, play Taka-Arashi and do what was mentioned before but only when you're fighting Vanessa or Eileen. Otherwise just spam the button.

I used the night wolf looking fighter, over powered Vanessa in rd9, it took 3 or 4 times, but it worked...definately she was a pain in the ass

For anyone having difficulty with the Offensive Move Test to the point that they were swearing at the TV with no idea what they were doing wrong, here is a tip that makes it A LOT easier.
Instead of doing the direction and the three buttons select Pai Chan and keep pressing up on the d-pad and LT and you'll have the offensive move out the way in no time.

THANK YOU. I was about to rip my controller in half prior to reading this

Extremely helpful, thank you for this tip!!

I found using Taka-Arashi the best for the tests. Simply alternate between PPP, KKK AND K+P moves and you should be good for this achievement.
Just wanted to make a solution for those with a turbo controller. You can easily win these lessons by simply turboing A for most matches.
Lessons like getting a certain number of blocks, offensive moves, and throws should be done at the start of each match. Once that is filled, complete the match with A on turbo.
This method made it so easy for me because im horrible at fighting games, hope this helps others! I used Taka Arashi for all of these fights, but i would think any character would do
PS - Tips for the rounds you may have issues with by turboing
Round 4
offensive moves can still be done while A is being turboed. Just hit up up (on the d pad) and LT when the enemy is down. After it registers, you can continue turboing A to win
Round 7
You need a throw on rounds 1,3 &5. While A is being turboed and your close to the enemy, you can spam LB after about the second combo punch in. The enemy will be open for the throw
Round 9
Vanessa is a pain the ass, but can still be won by turboing. Fighting Vanessa at time she kept winning. But i pressed down (on the d pad) so that my turbo threw low punch which stopped her most times. Add a throw in if your close for a sure win. Or you can try turboing A+B which is how i beat her in Round 9
Round 10
Turboing A should get you through most fights, but if you see them breaking up your combo, just hit down a few times to throw them off attacking you or if they block too much. Vanessa appears here again, but the usual A+B and the same tips above should get a Win for you

The trophy is very easy (it took less than an hour), go through 10 tests with an average of 6 rounds, the only problem arose in the offensive mode, since you need to use down or up + (simultaneously) , but when I went into the settings I discovered that this can be done with one key .

In addition to the ninth test, where you can't let Vanessa parry your attacks, I can say that I used the Shaolin monk Lei-Fei . He has a series of powerful kicks. All you have to do is press without stopping and you will easily win this fight.

If you have problems with tests 9 and 10, the easiest way is to choose Lei-Fei and use only

The only test that can cause a problem in passing is #4 (offensive test)
How to make it?
At the beginning of the fight we hold down and spam "up" or "down" on the direction buttons. Once the execution is counted - we win the battle
