How to unlock the Thar She Blows! achievement in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - Definitive Guide

On the final boss, Nurgloth projects "eruptions" in rings around him when he is on the ground. These eruptions glow for a few seconds before erupting so you have some time to get out of their range before they blow. Simply defeat the final boss without any player getting hit by these eruptions. This can be done on any difficulty. I cannot confirm if bots can be hit/if bots being hit voids the achievement. Update - JohnnyInterfnk confirms that bots being hit DOES VOID the achievement. He also adds:

the requirements for this achievement are both to not be hit by any of the eruption AND to not be knocked back or in the air during an eruption. Apparently, its the knockback of the eruption that's triggering the fail state, and its calculating it by who is in the air at the time of the eruption.

I've heard tales on the Fatshark Forums of people in mid-leap during eruptions not getting the achievement. To be safe, make sure you're grounded and do not activate any movement, teleport or leap abilities during the fight (or at least, during the eruption portion).
Here is a video of a group doing it for reference (not my video):

I can confirm: bots being hit by the eruption voids the achievement. And they WILL be hit -- they charge into the center to hit Nurgloth each eruption, and are constantly getting hit and being knocked back.

Another tidbit from the Fatshark forums: the requirements for this achievement are both to not be hit by any of the eruption AND to not be knocked back or in the air during an eruption. Apparently, its the knockback of the eruption that's triggering the fail state, and its calculating it by who is in the air at the time of the eruption.

Any tips for the 3rd phase of the fight where the boss comes down and begins flying around with the scythe? The first two phases are easy but that final phase, I always get knocked by his scythe swings into an eruption, it's impossible not to get hit so I don't see a way around it atm.

Three tips:

1.) Attempt this achievement on Recruit difficulty, as the third phase will be the fastest in this difficulty level

2.) During the third phase, Nurgloth does his ring eruptions on the outside rings. If you stay near the center of the arena, you won't be hit by the eruptions (this presents a problem in Legend as you'll be attacked on all sides by mobs, but you shouldn't have issues in Recruit)

3.) Bring a Shade with you and give them either a strength (or better yet) a concentration potion for the last fight. As Shades are basically designed to be boss killers, you can very quickly burn down the boss using shade Ultimate Ability backstabs (and twice in a row with a conc potion). A Huntsman is also very good here as well as they're designed boss killers as well. (When we did it, we only had a Shade, but if you're in a real bind, a Shade/Huntsman combo should obliterate the boss in a few seconds).

Hope this helps.

The burst damage refers to the final boss fight. When the boss casts orange circles in the arena, your task is not to get into any of them throughout the fight
