How to unlock the Projecting achievement in We Were Here Forever - Definitive Guide
Warning!! Each gaming experience can change so I can’t give exact answers but I will explain how the puzzle works so you and your partner know what to do.
This section starts when Player 1 exits the cage and Player 2 enters a room with a projector. Both players will see 3 dials of shapes creating a huge circle.
Player 1 has the job of describing the shapes to Player 2. Player 2 must start by lighting the torch in front of the projector then going to tables to the right of the large dial to see books. Each book has its own shapes (circles, squares, pentagons) and each page is numbered. Player 1 must explain the location of north, northwest, west, southwest, etc., whether it’s circle, square, or pentagon, and the symbol itself. (For example; 1 circle to the southeast can have the symbol that looks like a wine glass and the other circle to northeast can have a symbol that looks like an alien.) Player 2 will match the described direction, shape, and symbol in the book and remember that page, then do the same for the 3 square shapes to find the correct page, and the 4 pentagon shapes also.
When all 3 pages are found, Player 2 must enter them onto the projector dials for the corresponding shape and push the lever.
Player 1 enters the cage, Player 2 has a mechanism rise from the trap door and a painting the left of the huge dial will rise. You need the lantern from here to place on the projector light to highlight new symbols. This time Player 1 has to work.
Player 1 has a wheel to turn the big dials and Player 2 has a new mechanism to control which dials Player 1 can turn. For example, Player 2 sets the mechanism to square so player 1 can rotate square. Player 2 must describe the new highlighted symbols to player 1 so they can match symbols to Player 2’s dials. The center compass dial may rotate too. I was lazy and just turned my head but Player 2 has a direction on the mechanism to let Player 1 control that too.
When the vault opens, both players get different achievements. Player 2 gets this one, but Player 1 gets “Carried”. To swap achievements, you must quit the game, load up the checkpoint and swap roles and complete the puzzle again on opposite sides. To be safe and not accidentally delete progress, I waited until post game.
Thank you for checking out my solution! Please comment if you have questions or if I can make it easier to understand this complicated beauty of a game puzzle.

The player who remained in the previous puzzle finds himself in a room with a projector. The solution to the first part of the riddle is 2 4 4 . We enter the numbers and pull the lever. After this, a cache in the wall will open, in which lies a book that will be taken away from us.
Next, the player approaches the “table” with an arrow, which stands next to the projector.
Next, the player approaches the “table” with an arrow, which stands next to the projector.
- First, the arrow needs to be turned towards the gear so that the second player turns the compass fragment 2 times counterclockwise.
- Next, the first player moves to the circle. The second player makes 3 turns clockwise.
- Then the first player moves to the square. The second player makes 2 counterclockwise turns.
- Finally, the first player moves to the pentagon so that the second player makes 1 turn clockwise.
