How to unlock the Across the Board achievement in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - Definitive Guide

After completing the main game, there are 17 targets on the Killboard in the Eva's Hammer main area. Since Frau Engel is automatically marked off upon returning to the hub, you're gonna have to locate and kill 16 of the Ubercommander targets, all of which are in "districts", which are revamped mini-areas that you already visited in the campaign.

The Ubercommanders are tougher commanders who use Kampfpistole grenade launchers and have higher awareness, meaning that you must take them out quickly before they cause a ruckus and alarm the area. They "cost" a certain amount of Enigma codes to unlock their missions, ranging from 2 codes to 8 codes.

Enigma codes can be picked up from commanders during the main campaign, and you can farm for them by re-doing past district missions.

Here's the list of all Ubercommanders listed by their location and the amount of codes needed to access them:

Manhattan, Neu York
1. Klaus Klinger, Nuclear Bunker District, 0 codes (unlocked by default for story purposes)
2. Walter Hauser, Harbor District, 2 codes
3. Heinrich Muller, Subway District, 2 codes
4. Raimund Hofmann, Ruins District, 3 codes
5. Leopold Meissner, Penthouse District, 3 codes

Roswell, New Mexico
6. Jurgen Schlusser, Downtown District, 5 codes
7. Friedrich Baumgartner, Underground District, 4 codes

New Orleans, Louisiana
8. Otto Ackermann, Confinement Wall, 5 codes
9. Victor Kreuger, Ghetto District, 5 codes
10. Daniel Eckstein, Bienville Street District, 4 codes
11. Albert Grosse, Lakeview District, 5 codes

Mesquite, Texas
12. Erich Eberhardt, Farmhouse District, 6 codes

Venus
13. Ludwig Kassmeyer, Aerostat Habitat District, 5 codes
14. Thomas Wechsler, Oberkommando District, 6 codes
15. Michael Rademaker, Transporthalle District, 7 codes

Riverside Bunker, Neu York
16. G. Herrman, Riverside Bunker District, 8 codes. It should be noted that this district doesn't unlock until you've completed the other 15 Ubercommando missions.

Upon returning to the Eva's Hammer after killing Herrman, you'll unlock the achievement.

I'm having the same issue, except in my case the Terror-Billy achievement hasn't unlocked as well. I've confirmed that all of the targets on the board are crossed out. Perhaps it's a synchronization issue with the Microsoft servers and my local console.

Has anyone had an issue with this not unlocking? I have completed Terror-Billy (which seems like the exact same achievement), I looked at the board itself and all targets were marked as complete, and yet I do not have the achievement.

Is there something I'm missing for this achievement?

After returning to Eva's Hammer from the Manhattan Nuclear Bunker mission (about halfway through the game), you will finally have access to the War Map in the Helm of the U-Boat. This War Map allows you to revisit every district from the Campaign (e.g. the Subway District of Manhattan, the Lakeview District of New Orleans, the Habitat district of Venus, etc.).

In order to gain access these districts, though, you will need to unlock them via the nearby Enigma Machine. This is done by using the Enigma Codes collected/looted from the Commanders you come across throughout the Campaign. For every few Enigma Codes you decipher, you will unlock a new district, and for every new district you unlock, you will add an Übercommander's profile to the Killboard (the glass window across from the War Map).

Since there are sixteen districts in the game, there are sixteen Killboard targets to eliminate. Frau Engel is on there, too, but she is eliminated naturally via the story. For the purposes of this achievement, all you have to do is visit a district, kill the Übercommander stationed there, and collect his death card. After doing this and returning to the U-Boat, that Nazi's profile will be marked off on the Killboard.

Please refer to the checklist below in order to gauge how many Enigma Codes are required for each district.

Manhattan, New York

  1. Nuclear Bunker District - 0 codes (unlocked by default for story purposes)
  2. Harbor District - 2 codes
  3. Subway District - 2 codes
  4. Ruins District - 3 codes
  5. Penthouse District - 3 codes

Roswell, New Mexico

  1. Downtown District - 5 codes
  2. Underground District - 4 codes

New Orleans, Louisiana

  1. Confinement Wall - 5 codes
  2. Ghetto District - 5 codes
  3. Bienville Street District - 4 codes
  4. Lakeview District - 5 codes

Mesquite, Texas

  1. Farmhouse District - 6 codes

Venus

  1. Aerostat Habitat District - 5 codes
  2. Oberkommando District - 6 codes
  3. Transporthalle District - 7 codes

Riverside Bunker, Neu York

  1. Riverside Bunker District - 8 codes (this district is hidden/locked until after you've completed all other Übercommando missions)

After the sixteenth Übercommander has been killed, this achievement will unlock upon returning to Eva's Hammer.

NOTE: If you need to grind out Enigma Codes in order to unlock a district, feel free to revisit any already completed district in order to hunt down Commanders and collect their codes. In fact, the Manhattan - Penthouse district is the the best area to grind out Enigma Codes since it's a relatively small map. Once you've collected the two codes, you can return to Eva's Hammer by opening the Journal and pressing on the "Missions" tab.

For this achievement you need to go through the story and use the Enigma machine to track down and kill the chief commandants. The Enigma Machine is a chair that you will find in the Eva's Hammer hub location. This is in the same room where you can go to different locations via the console. To decipher the codes, you first need to collect them from the corpses of officers who will be encountered throughout the story. Then, using the Enigma machine, you need to decipher the codes that provide access to the location of the chief commandants. The Kill List can be found in the command center in the hub location. There you can see photos of those who are already dead and who are still alive on the list of goals to achieve. One of the targets will be marked dead automatically upon completion of the story.

If there are not enough Enigma codes, then we launch the Manhattan-District penthouse location, there are two officers there, and the map is not large, we quickly cleared it, collected two codes, flew to Eve’s hammer, and back again))

When receiving tasks to eliminate the chief commandants, you will not have autosaves/check points; if you were killed at the end by the chief commandant, you will have to start the location again. Make manual saves if you feel like you might get shot.

The trophy is best combined with the Hard Head trophy, where you need to collect 1k helmets. Because by the end of the game you will not have the required number of *Enigma* codes or the helmets themselves. At the *Penthouse* level there are just 9 helmets and 2 codes.

After decoding and passing 15 chief commandants, the 16th (initially hidden) will open - its decryption costs 8 Enigma codes, the level is mostly in the dark, moving with a flashlight, many robots, some of them are turned off - there are also those in standby mode / patrolling. There are several super-soldiers (about 2-3) - after passing through the dark tunnels we come out to a small 2-step platform - there will be the last chief commandant and a large robot 1 piece (like the one at the end of the game - those who didn’t can make a trophy - we hide behind the car, kill the commandant, hide behind the car again and shoot off the robot's hand, go down and take it, turn on the stilts, climb back up and again hide behind the car and finish off the enemy with his own cannon - be careful, if you are below, the robot can make a dash and will throw you into the water. You don’t care, but the cannon will sink to the bottom and you won’t be able to pick it up - you’ll have to replay it).

As soon as the commandant is killed, we take the last card and the trophy is yours!
