How to unlock the I'll Have the Calamari achievement in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life - Definitive Guide

This achievement is related to the Spearfishing mini-game which is located in Onomichi. It is unlocked via substory. The substory is #47- The Old Man and The Sea, it becomes available in Chapter 4 after you are able to leave Haruto and move on your own. It is only available during the daytime and can be found at the end of the dock in the south of Onomichi, there should be a pair of fish on the ground. Just interact with them to start it. You’ll talk to lsao twice at the docks and once you get him to the hospital head back and ready up with him to continue it. This will bring you to the Spearfishing mini-game. Complete the first course and defeat the Emperor Squid boss at the end to both complete the substory and unlock the achievement.

Go to the dock area (with the jetty) in Onomichi to trigger a sub story involving a fisherman. Eventually he'll offer to take you spear fishing. This is a minigame where you throw a spear at fish to collect them. At the very end of the first level there is a giant squid boss which takes a lot of spears to kill. You'll get the trophy for killing it. I'm not sure if you can actually miss it or fail to kill the giant squid as I succeeded on my first try. Either way it definitely appears on the first spear fishing level.

In Chapter 4, at the Jingai Ferry Dock in Onomichi, we go out to the pier and interact with two large fish. After a short cutscene, we return to the same place and, after another video, agree to the offer to go fishing.
We select the very first mission and standard weapon (there is no other weapon). We catch fish and shoot at chests.
At the end we will have a battle with a giant squid (which everyone has probably already seen in the trailer). There is nothing complicated, the main thing is not to be too greedy and monitor the number of harpoons, reloading on time. First we shoot at the "kraken", and when it launches smaller squids at us, we spend all the ammo on them. And so on until the bitter end.

Reloading will be faster if you do it manually with one cartridge than automatic - it helps a lot on bosses
