How to unlock the Engineer achievement in Alekhine's Gun - Definitive Guide

Rewiring is another mini-game which requires care and attention to complete, yet for a gold trophy is extremely simple.

When you reach one of these puzzles you are presented with a schematic diagram type of background with an even number of boxes placed within. Hovering the cursor over these boxes will reveal a directional arrow. What you must do is match 2 pairs of arrows pointing in the same direction and 'uncover' them by pressing  whilst hovering above them - think of the old playing card game 'pairs' you played as a kid. When all 'pairs' have been turned over, the game is complete. Doing so without any incorrect pairs will earn you this trophy.

There's a timer for this mini-game but it's really nothing at all to worry about when playing on Easy.

An ideal spot to do this is in Mission 3 right where you must increase the voltage to take out the second target. Once again, saving before you attempt this is good practice just in case you do make an ass of it.

The rewiring mini-game is similar to how the game Memory works. When you access a panel, you are given three or four pairs of contacts. Your objective is to match two of the same contacts. Be careful as they look similar so you might make a mistake. When you connect all the contacts, you increase the voltage of the panel which can cause a person to be electrocuted, turn off an alarm, opening a hatch, etc.

There are two ways to fail this mini-game. The first is if you make a wrong connection, the panel sparks and you have to start over. The second is if you run out of time. There is a bar in the top left corner of the screen. Once the bar disappears, you will fail. If you make any mistakes, just press to back out and try again. Upon successfully rewiring a panel without making a mistake will unlock the achievement.

This can be unlocked in Level 3, ‘Snake Born.’ Towards the end of the level, one of your objectives is to assassinate the scientist Adolph Krause. He is working in the main lab area (with the catwalks) at the bottom level in a pit. Make your way down into this pit, crouch and walk to the far side where there’s a panel on the wall (he may or may not notice you so it might be wise to drop down when his back is turned). Stand there and press to “Wait” to not draw attention to yourself. You will observe that he repeatedly goes from a panel on the right to the console in the center and then to a panel on the left, then goes back to the right. When he moves from the center console to the left, crouch and walk over to the console, hold and move to highlight ‘Switch to 4th Electro Panel.’ Then walk back to where you were.

As he’s doing his routine, press to access the panel. Move the to navigate over the contacts and try to find two of the same. When you do, press on each. Repeat until all the contacts are yellow, which will unlock the achievement.

You just need to complete the electrification mini-game.
  • Level 3 (if an accident occurs with a scientist).
  • Level 5 (second floor, room next to the target you need to kidnap. Guitar amplifier).
  • Level 7 (when installing beacons on boats).
  • Level 10 (top floor, near the elevator. Electrical panel to turn off the lights on the floor).

I would like to add the following:
In this mini-game you need to match each electrical circuit. It wasn’t obvious to me what to focus on until I realized:
We point at the electrical circuit and a symbol appears in its place. We now need to find a diagram with the same symbol. Moreover, if you activate one, the others will not display the symbol when you hover over the cursor. Those. First we look for a pair, and then we connect.
The symbols are sometimes very similar, you have to look closely so as not to miss, for example, an extra dot.
