How to unlock the if everything seems under control achievement in art of rally - Definitive Guide
Quick guide I used from Steam and adjusted slightly.
>Custom Rally
>Location - Germany
>Track - gonnesweiler
>Stages - 1
>damage level - severe
>vehicle - fujin (group a)
The aim here is to total yourself causing terminal damage. Once this is done, you can restart and this will count for a stage complete. There is no visible way in game to track this achievement other than using a slower method of doing individual events and tracking it that way.
Basically we are going to drive straight ahead. Reaching 150kph+ and smashing into the barrier you see in the distance by the flags. I had best success aiming for the red flag in the middle.
As soon as you total the car, terminal damage appears. You can spam the A button to quickly restart.
Video example showing a couple of crashes and restarts.
After completing the career I had around 225 stages done (approx). I sat and knocked this particular achievement out in one sitting and took around 3.5 hours, all in this one mode...crashing again and again. I can confirm this 100% works and unlocks mid game. No need to back out at any point to save progress.
EDIT - Can be done across multiple sessions and progress is still tracked.

Yeah discarding the rally is fine. had a couple of instances where I had quit out only to return to a flaming car so was forced to discard and set up a new custom rally.
As mentioned previously the stages ran are recorded in the background. Events and Podiums will not be affected by the constant crashing. Only if you choose to then finish the track you'd get a +1 event complete.
Just keep at it guys and girls. Like I said the 3.5 hour estimate is really gunning it without much downtime at all. You could probably add an additional hour if you are watching TV and maybe not concentrating.
No changes since before the latest patch.

As of 25/08/2021 I'm not sure this still works. Did it for 10 mins and had 15-20 terminal restarts but when I backed out of the event and went back in my events for the fujin (car I was using) were still sat at 23, the same amount as before I started the session.
If its not working it certainly glitches in another way , as I said previously I did the method for 10 minutes and it added 200 miles to the odometer of the fujin for me, so a good way of doing the 500km one car and 555km fujin achievements .

Rally> Germany
Stage> Mertesdorf reverse
Car> funjin or any group A
Damage> Severe
The time for each run is around 7-8 seconds
Get the car to above 150km/h then steer left or right for unmissable terminal damage. Due to the stones on either side of the road, this is impossible not to do!. You don't even have to aim at any thing

This is what I’m doing, much easier IMO

TL/DR: With either guide listed, you'll be able to complete 20 terminal damages safely (with room for one or two mistakes) in six minutes. If you played the 215 (I believe) Career races first, this should take you just about 4 hours. If you never touched the career mode, you should complete it in 5 hours.
Also if you already have the 555km for the fujin, I recommend using the il gorillona. I was able to shave off .4-.5 seconds per run, sometimes over a second, compared to the fujin. It's not much, but over 1000 runs it's somewhere between 8-18 minutes.

I tried both of the guides listed here for Germany > Gonnesweiler and Germany > Mertesdorf - R
Both had Damage Level - Severe and used the fujin (Group A), but I recommend using the il gorillona if you have the achievement, it has a bit better acceleration. Also to note, both of these runs had a 2-3 times where I did not get terminal damage and had to restart, so those runs took a few less seconds off, bringing my number of attempts up for that run. These are the times:
For me, I prefer Gonnesweiler as you're heading pretty much straight the whole time, and you'll be going pretty much 150kph / 93mph right as you hit the wall, so you don't need to look at your speed. You do have to look out for the grass on the right, and make sure not to hit the barrier to the left of the flag as either will not have your speed up high enough.
For Mertesdorf, it's a safer play as you can gain more speed and hit the stones on either side once you pass 150kph/93mph, but you have to keep an eye on it so you don't go to early. Also it starts with a decent turn so, if you're just looking to mash the gas with minimal correction, this isn't the track to pick

- For the Gonnesweiler, I aimed to the right of the Red flag on the left of the turn. I went from terminal damage to terminal damage, on a safe average, in 16.6 seconds, getting 21 successful runs completed in 6 minutes (If I used the il gorillona, I was able to get down to 16.13s on avg, with a best time of 15.5)
- For the Mertesdorf, I aimed for any of the guardrail blocks on the side. I went from terminal damage to terminal damage, on a safe average, in 16.2 seconds, getting 22 successful runs completed in 6 minutes (I did not test the il gorillona with this method)

Solution for Cronus owners:
I wrote a small script to loop these movements to unlock, by the conventional method of crash and repeat, the 1000 special run. (because very boring to do)
It's a first version, largely perfectible but I was satisfied with it. It allows to make an average of 2,5 crashes per minute, so 150 per hour. It takes longer than if you did it yourself but heh, it takes care of itself.
We use the same specs as if we were doing it manually, except for the car (I coded it for one in particular, but it's adaptable):
Basically, the first run is a success, the second a failure (the car will stroll for 15 seconds before restarting the stage), the third a success etc... After each success, there is a failure. It is a question of synchronization in the loops, but the main thing is that it can work in a viable and reliable way forever.
Here is the script I wrote:

Here is the script I wrote:
int turbo = 0;
main {
if (event_press(XB1_Y)) {
turbo = !turbo;
}
if (turbo) {
combo_run(Turbo_1);
set_val(XB1_RT, 100);
} else {
combo_stop(Turbo_1);
/*set_val(XB1_RT, 0); */
}
}
combo Turbo_1 {
/*set_val(XB1_RT, 100);
wait(1500);
set_val(XB1_RT, 0);
wait(1);*/
set_val(XB1_LX, -75);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_LX, 0);
wait(12000);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_RT, 0);
call(Reboot);
}
combo Reboot {
set_val(XB1_MENU, 100);
wait(100);
set_val(XB1_MENU, 0);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_DOWN, 100);
wait(100);
set_val(XB1_DOWN, 0);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(5100);
}
As a reminder, the script works with 'the cozzie 90' vehicle and not with the 'fujin'. By adjusting the values, it could work with any vehicle, but I programmed it to work like this.main {
if (event_press(XB1_Y)) {
turbo = !turbo;
}
if (turbo) {
combo_run(Turbo_1);
set_val(XB1_RT, 100);
} else {
combo_stop(Turbo_1);
/*set_val(XB1_RT, 0); */
}
}
combo Turbo_1 {
/*set_val(XB1_RT, 100);
wait(1500);
set_val(XB1_RT, 0);
wait(1);*/
set_val(XB1_LX, -75);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_LX, 0);
wait(12000);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(200);
set_val(XB1_RT, 0);
call(Reboot);
}
combo Reboot {
set_val(XB1_MENU, 100);
wait(100);
set_val(XB1_MENU, 0);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_DOWN, 100);
wait(100);
set_val(XB1_DOWN, 0);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 100);
wait(50);
set_val(XB1_A, 0);
wait(5100);
}
Good game !
