How to unlock the Astral Tactician achievement in Control - Definitive Guide
I recommend trying to get this done while going through the main game and side missions because after those are all finished the enemy spawn rate seems to go way down
Board Countermeasures are background missions that you can accept at any control point.
I learned you can abandon as many of these missions as you want for it to cycle through to easy missions. All you have to do is accept the missions that are hard then hold x to abandon them to cycle another mission into the list.
The missions that are the easiest to complete are:
-Kill enemies with the Service Weapon in _______ mode
-Kill enemies in the _______ sector
-Kill enemies in the ________ sector using Abilities
-Kill enemies using Shield Barrage (unlocked further in the shield part of the skills tree, propels
debris at enemies)
-Kill enemies using Launch
All of these don't require any special Hiss so can be easily completed. Just keep grinding through those until 25 are done!

Yes, after the credits, getting enemies to spawn is a real pain -.-

I would imagine, post game, doing the board coutermeasures is the way forward to fight enemies and not have to worry about spawn rates

- BEST METHOD IF YOU ALREADY FINISHED THE MAIN STORY -
Awesome guide by DanTheWhale, and regarding time management, it will be better If you just keep popping countermeasures while you complete the main missions, but If you find yourself with them finished and not finding enemies consistenly, try using this method:
· Use the Jukebox found in the Central Executive to do Expeditions
You can find all the info about the jukebox and expeditions here: https://www.polygon.com/control-guide/2019/12/12/21019961/ju...
First, find 3 countermeasures that require you to just simply kill enemies with abilities or the service weapon. I tried to get always the next 3:
· Kill 5 enemies with the Pierce form
· Kill 5 enemies with the Shatter form
· Kill 5 Charged Hiss or Soldiers.
Go to the jukebox and start the 1 token expedition. You will be teleported to the Formation, and you will see 4 circular doors. Take the second starting from the left.
You will be in an area killing Hiss waves as soon as you interact with a white machine you can find near the center of the stage. You can do the weapon related countermeasures in any order, but I recommend starting with the Shatter one. The Charged Hiss will spawn in the second wave.
As soon as you complete the 3 missions, press start and abandon the expedition. Then go to the checkpoint and collect the rewards.
I was able to do my last 20 countermeasures in less than an hour.
As I said, If you have not finished the main story, best to follow DanTheWhale's guide, but If you are done with it, give this method a go.

After you beat the game, enemy spawns are massively reduced. Make sure all of your Board Countermeasures are for the Executive or Research areas, and try to get countermeasures that require few kills. To cycle your countermeasures simply take the ones you don't want and abandon them, and another one will be available. Also make sure to have all assist settings enabled to make it faster. To complete this achievement you will want to go between the "Central Research" and "Mail Room" checkpoints. For Mail Room, take the bloody door to the left of the checkpoint and that room will have enemies. For Central Research jump to the bottom of the stairs and walk back up and enemies should spawn. After you kill all enemies in both control points, quit to menu and start the game again. This is the fastest way I could do it.
These Board Countermeasures are basically challenges within the game that can be activated at any control point after completing Mission 2, "Unknown Caller". Only 3 can be active at any one time. If you select one and choose to abandon it, another challenge will appear but the one abandoned will return later. Once done, go to a control point and collect the reward. If you find this trophy a bit tasking, just do this: Select a challenge you don't want to take on just yet. Abandon it and keep looking for one you can tackle easily.

In Countermeasures, it can be difficult and time-consuming to find the enemies you need, but you can update the list by taking on a complex Countermeasure and immediately abandoning it - it will disappear from the list, and a new one will appear in its place

You can also take 3 such simple missions at once without being tied to a specific place, for example (headshots, killing with a shield and, say, killing by throwing objects) I did it myself in the “coffee shop” in the central department, there is a constant rep of enemies.

You can farm tasks that are not tied to specific locations in the SHÜM machine. And immediately after performing the countermeasure, you can leave the test without affecting the result.

When going through the main plot, you don’t have to worry about these countermeasures, but take them on after finding the “SHUM” gaming machine. Having selected at the control point all countermeasures that are not tied to specific locations (for example, “Destroy 3 snipers”), select in “SHUM” the mode of battle with the horde of Iss and safely repeat the process until you receive the trophy.

So, “Council Countermeasures” are tasks to kill 1/3/5/10/15/25 mobs, for which weapon mods are given as a reward. You can take them and turn them in at any checkpoint by selecting the appropriate item at the end of the list.
- Tasks can be:
1) To kill Jesus 2) To kill a specific type of Jesus 3) To kill Jesus from a certain type of weapon 4) To kill Jesus in a specific location 5) To kill a specific type of Jesus in a specific location 6) To kill in a specific location, specific Jesus and from a specific weapon.
- It’s better to take the first, second and third tasks. Because running around in circles around some location in anticipation of an invasion is a so-so activity, especially since when the locations are cleared, then repeated invasions are random and you can wait for them for a long time.
- You can take no more than 3 “Countermeasures” at the same time. But you can pick up and cancel inappropriate tasks an infinite number of times to update the list, thus skipping inconvenient tasks.
- It’s better to start performing “countermeasures” immediately in the process of completing the story and other trophies. If you put them off until later, you will have another 3-4 extra hours spent on boring countermeasures.
- After the story, it is better to finish off the remaining countermeasures that are not tied to specific locations either in the SHUM slot machine, or for a token in the jukebox. Because both here and there you can meet a full set of all types of mobs and not have to run around looking for them.
