How to unlock the Brown Belt Master achievement in EA SPORTS MMA - Definitive Guide

To receive your Brown belt in the Masters Division you need a total of 126550xp.

White to yellow = 300 xp
Yellow to Orange = 750xp
Orange to Green = 1000xp
Green to Blue = 1500xp
Blue to Purple = 3000xp
Purple to Brown = 4000xp
Brown to Black = 5000xp
Black to Black with Red Stripes = 6000xp
Black with Red Stripes to Red = 6000xp (When you earn this belt you start off with one stripe)
Red to White Star = 1500xp (There are no stripes)
White* to Yellow Star* = 10000xp
Yellow* to Orange* = 12500xp
Orange* to Green* = 15000xp
Green* to Blue* = 17500xp
Blue* to Purple* = 20000xp
Purple* to Brown* = 22500xp

XP advice.

Regular Fights
200 xp per win in the first round.
50xp per loss in the first round.
400 xp per win in the second round
100 xp per loss in the second round.

Ok I know I do not have this achievement yet BUT I wanted to share with everyone my boosting method as I believe it is the fastest way to rank up with the XP multiplier in effect.

This method will give the winner 540XP per fight. First make sure your controls are set to total strike control or whatever it is called to use the right stick for strikes, now on to the method itself.

Doesn't matter what fighters you pick although I believe the loser should pick a fighter with high health. You are going to want to go for three bonuses which are:

Hendo
The Grim
The Natural

To do this, the winner needs to initiate the clinch by pressing (Y). once in the clinch you need to throw constant elbows by using the right stick from left to up or right to up (although I just spin my right stick in circles and it registers as elbow upon elbow). Once the loses is dropped he taps (B) as quickly as possible to recover and stands up with (Y).

Initiate the clinch and do the same again. Loser recovers and stands up. Initiate the clinch and this time hold down the kick modifier (LT) and land knees by tilting the right stick up and to the left or right. Land 10 knees in the clinch. The most I managed in 1 clinch was 7 by alternating between body and head knees. To knee the body hold (RB).

After landing 10 knees in the clinch just finish the fight and you will be rewarded with 540XP.

If you want, the loser can do this as well which should net them 440XP for the loss as they will get the same 3 bonuses.

I've just found out the XP has changed yet again, I'll update this when I've tried it with the new XP

With the impending server closure looming, I figured it was worth posting an alternative way to rank up and obtain all the belt-related achievements for those who want to do as little playing as possible. While the "Bonus XP" methods work, I found that the time-to-XP trade off wasn't really worth it, especially when one person inevitably screws it up and takes an extra 30-60 seconds to correct their mistakes.

Obviously, the absolute quickest way to rank yourself up is going to involve either 2 consoles & 2 gold accounts, a turbo controller, or an awesome friend who will throw you 300+ fights in a row. Since most people aren't likely to have access to any of these, we'll move on to the quit method:

1. If possible, install the game to your hard drive to cut down on loading times.

2. Get a boosting partner/group together.

3. Pick and enter a weight class to fight in.

4. Press A to begin searching.

5. Get paired up with your partner(s). Press B to back out if you get a random and try your search again. If you have continual problems finding each other or running into other players, move to a different weight class. Use party or private chat to coordinate searches and lobby moves.

6. Waste 65-85 seconds of your life waiting for the loading screens to disappear.

7. As soon as the "Challenger Fight" stat screen fades and the cut scenes begin, Player A should hit start and quit the fight.

8. When Player B receives notice that Player A has quit, he/she should immediately spam the A button to skip the end of fight reports and return to the weight class menu as quickly as possible.

9. Both players repeat the process alternating wins along the way.

Winning player gets 1000 XP.

Losing player gets 350 XP.

The losing player also gets a slight DNF percentage raise, which absolutely nobody cares about, especially since the servers are dying anyway. DNF raise will also be slightly offset when your partner quits the next match.

Sooner or later, one player will inevitably become a champion. Since this increases your search time for non-contenders, you will want to immediately throw the belt to a random or move to a different weight class. Losing the belt can be more difficult than it sounds since other people may be looking to do the same exact thing. It can become a comedy-filled race to see who can quit the fastest, so be ready! You don't want to be stuck with the belt.

While you can easily do this 1-on-1, getting a group of 4+ people together can help alleviate some of the headaches caused when the servers get crowded. The more people you have, the better your chances are at getting paired up and avoiding randoms. The catch is, you have to keep track of your win-loss standing with each person so you know who needs to quit the match. Another advantage to a larger party is that most smaller boosting groups are going to completely avoid any lobby that already has numerous people in it.

If you are in a 2 person group and are unsure of whose turn it is to win or lose, you can let the cut scene continue until you get to the fighter stats/record screen. Whichever player is on a winning streak is the one who needs to quit the match.

As mentioned above, the wait time between pairing up with your partner and actually being able to quit the game is approximately 65-85 seconds (68 is about average, total time varies depending on playing from disc or drive, connection, etc). For the multitaskers out there, get yourself a timer and grab some of your life back. Assuming you're starting from the beginning and have to play at least 300 games or so, that's over 6 hours spent not staring at a loading screen.

Going from start to finish using this method, and not factoring in any XP bonuses, you will need to play 321 matches to get Red Belt Master. The bonuses will, obviously, cut that total down some.

To go from a masters division green belt to a masters division brown belt you need 48000XP. You get 10XP for playing a match and you get 30XP for winning the match.
