How to unlock the Mr. Ancient achievement in EVERSPACE - Definitive Guide
These are easily recognisable, they are a large rock with an orange beam of light coming out the top.
Around the temple, there will be a sphere that launches homing beams of light at you. You need to kill this (beware, it turns into a black hole and tries to suck you in once you kill it).
After you've escaped the pull of the black hole, enter the temple (openings are next to the orange glyphs) and approach the central stone. It will break apart and reveal a glyph. Hit this with your ship and you'll collect it.
There are 11 in total.
As you travel through the sectors, you'll encounter Ancient Temples.

Weapons that cause high shield damage work best against them. Don't waste secondary weapons, they just teleport to avoid them.

VERY IMPORTANT TIP: YOU NEED TO ENTER THE MASSIVE STRUCTURE THROUGH THE HOLE WHICH HAS A GLOWING LIGHT ABOVE IT - NEAR THE TOP OF THE STRUCTURE BEFORE ANCIENTS WILL START SPAWNING. Just enter the temple, shoot the glyph and proceed forward.
Glyphs are an enhancement that can be collected in systems throughout the first 6 sectors from Ancient Structures (like a temple with columns of fire). You must destroy the guardian of the temple which then passes an unlocking energy to your ship which you must successfully pilot into the tiny temple entrance around the top of the tower. Strafe constantly, using shield destroying weapons and avoid getting too close. Ancient Structures may be chanced upon in systems but upgrading the Sector Scanner perk will allow you to see which systems contain glyphs and temples so you may plan your journey. Glyphs give powerful bonuses to your ship and equipment but may also hinder your progress with their debuffs.
- Ancient Structures - Displays all Ancient Structures on the star map.
- Headstart - Start in sector 2.
- Low Profile - Okkar forces and Colonial warships will not warp in anymore but every location has a jump suppressor.
- Leech - If an enemy is destroyed, the player ship's hull is repaired by 20 hitpoints but nanobots can only be used for component damage repair and crafting, not hull repair.
- Ancient Friends - Occasionally, Ancients will spawn and defend the player ship.
- Bullseye - Every critical hit immediately recharges the shield by 10% but critical hits don't deal additional damage.
- Splitter - When fired, secondary weapons split into two but runs always start with only one empty secondary weapon slot.
- Ancient Weapon - You receive a very powerful Ancient Shock Rifle which deals more damage the lower your ship's hull hitpoints are but your ship's hull is damaged each time you fire and no other weapons can be used.
- Equalizer - After each jump the hull is set to 50%, which could be a bonus or hindrance.
- Berserker - When boosting, the ship's hull cannot be damaged but if you don't make a kill at least every 40 seconds your ship's hull is constantly damaged.
- Predetermination - G&B and Okkar are hostile to each other but jump destinations can't be chosen.
It is recommended to disassemble the enemy from a distance, since after his death a black hole will form and you may be sucked in.
After the victory, carry the light that has enveloped you to the center of the temple - you will receive the coveted glyph.
To make it easier to find and collect the remaining glyphs, I recommend finding and installing the “Buildings of the Ancients” glyph in the reinforcement cell. With its help, temples will be displayed on the star map.
