How to unlock the Drift Club Mexico achievement in Forza Horizon 5 - Definitive Guide

Tip that would help make this a lot more easier

Braking: anti-lock off
Steering: simulation
Traction control and stability control: off

You should be able to get 3 stars on every chapter first try
also reaching the destination as stated in the chapters is not required, hitting the 3 star requirement and reaching the time limit would get you the 3 stars for the chapter

@NessNoldo just say you aren't good at drifting, its extremely easy to get 3 stars on all of these story "missions". Especially with the settings in this guide.

Not extremely easy, I like the settings, but except for the first I am getting 1 star

@TuseToFuse The second chapter is the harder in my opinion. I'm bad at drifting, of course. Help a lot to take another route in the chapters and with this settings it can be done more easily.

For those struggling, manual transmission, and sit in 3rd gear. I preferred Normal steering, and I left ABS on.

If you're struggling on chapters 3, 4 and 5 , use this settings and Manual Transmission with 3rd Gear.
Got them all first try

Also, those struggling with mission 3 - turn left when you start and you have a larger road to drift down

Mission 5 i noticed i ran out of road with plenty of time so i cut accross the fields on the last hairpin and used the larger roads

No tips on how to drift effectively, or tips specific to certain missions. These settings are obvious to anyone with half a brain. Thanks to maka for the tip for 3rd gear, that helps.

These settings aren’t obvious to mean, and I’m 85% certain I have a whole brain. Thanks for the settings info, got the last one I needed after changing them.

honestly you would have to try to fail to 3 star these, i almost doubled the requirements for most on my first try i don't see how some people are having issues.

that electric ford on the last mission was absolutely terrible at drifting. And the whining noise it made in rwd was excruciating to hear. To hell with that stupid car

Not that easy for me, doing standard drifts and ebrake curves along the straights I usually got within 1000points and 30 seconds on the first missions.
Easy first try with a few rewinds.
The volcano is easier but longer and the guanajuato I cannot try because the e drivetrain control was not compatible with non standard controller settings,
same bug this game had since launch...

I thought I was good at drifting but I’m having a really challenging time getting 3 stars in chapters 3 and 4

Any other tips beyond what’s in the OP?

I had issues with chapter 2 until I realized I could drift to the gif highway. Once I was in the big highway it was easy to drift and accumulate points. With chapters 3 and 4 seems I’m way too far from the highway

Thanks Maka

I suspect something else was afoot. I finally was able to three-star the remaining chapters after many attempts and now I have the achievement.

What I found curious was I had a driving line for all the Drift Club Mexico chapters. I never have my driving line on. I have all assists off except for rewind and automatic transmission.

I assumed the driving line I was seeing was a “only in Drift Club Mexico feature”, something they added because the devs knew the drifting was so difficult, so they wanted to give everyone hints about where to place the car, regardless of the player’s assist settings.

Well, turns out I had almost ALL assists on. Steering assists, traction control, stability control, braking assists, and driving lines - all of them were turned on for some reason. Couldn’t believe it. No WONDER I could not three star these chapters easily. I don’t know how my assist settings changed. I had not played in months (maybe since January when I got the smashables achievement) so maybe some update since then caused my assists to be all messed up.

Sim steering not needed. Abs off not needed but can help avoid odd angel shifts at the front.

Use 2nd gear for the first two. 3rd for the rest unless you are at a tight bend. For tight bend drop to 2nd and then upshift to 3rd and floor it when you feel the rear end try to straighten out.

If your rear end is in front of the hood or slightly less, you have too much angle and will likely spin out. An easy drift is to have rear about 45 degrees behind the hood. This type of drift is very controllable and can be extended by lightly throttling to occasionally flooring and flicking the sticks to keep the cars sideways. For switchbacks, i just tap the gas to get it sideways and coast through the turn sideways and tap the gas again or brake after the turn if too quick to pivot car to next turn usually gradually increasing the gas or flooring it at mid corner to keep the drift going. Its easy to practice this on straights and get a few points to boot.

No need for ebrake unless its a longer sweeping corner. The mustang on the mountain would straighten out too quick.

For E mustang, take it slow. I think i was hovering are the 3000-4000 rpm mark.

Usually i had 3 stars near mid point of each challenge and cruised to the finish with fun practice drifts.

To earn this achievement you will need to complete each of the 6 Drift Club Mexico chapters with 3 stars.

Just be sure to disable Traction control, stability control and Braking anti-lock, and you shouldn't have any problem.

Remember that you don't have to follow the GPS, nor reach the end line. You just have to rank up drift points!
Choose your preferred route, and gain some good speed for drifting, untill times runs out.
If you're short in points, be sure to use all of your remaining time to score some more.
There's plenty of time to use!

The Drift Club Mexico story consists of 6 different Chapters. None of the 3 star requirements are particularly difficult, especially if you have played the base game for a while and completed the stories there. You can also replay the Chapters as much as you need to earn the 3 stars for all of them. Also, completing all 6 Chapters with any star rating will unlock Join the Club (20G).
