How to unlock the Wanted achievement in Grand Theft Auto IV - Definitive Guide

**It seems this does not work on the PC version, if anyone has any further info on that can you please confirm?

08/18/11 - Edit to move the spawn shield info to the beginning and add fisha0505's rubber banding method from the comments.

Ii7z IDaRReNx's solution is pretty good, but with a few tweaks and better description, it gets much better. Shemp's solution definitely gets you the most money per hour, but this method has several benefits over it.

First, find someone with the same version of the DLC as you, i.e. downloaded DLC or EfLC disk. There seems to be an issue with players matching up if they don't have the same version. Some people have said they have had no problems matching up, but most people I know and myself were never able to get it to work.

The concept is the same, TLAD Deathmatch on Happiness Island, 1 sec spawn time, respawn distance near. Instead of powerful weapons, choose sniper rifles. Instead of trading kills, either switch halfway through, or one person spawn kill for a whole match and then switch.

Before entering a TLAD lobby, first load up TBoGT and go into a MP lobby to remove the spawn shield. You only need to enter a lobby, you do not need to actually start a match. You can now exit out of TBoGT and start your TLAD boosting, and you'll be able to kill the other player immediately after they spawn. Please note you only need to do this once per session. If you play multiple matches back to back, you do not need to go into TBoGT for each match, just the first time you load up the game.

If rubber banding, skip this next part as you there are a few adjustments that need to be made for that.

When the game starts, run to the end of the northwest pier. Player 1 is going to stand right on the weapon spawn, player 2 is going to stand on the other side of the pier. Player 1 kills player 2, and where #2 respawns is where he will continuously spawn. Zoom in on the head and stay zoomed, if LT is continuously held down it will always go back to that same spot, even when reloading. Doing this gets you a kill every 2-3 seconds, you have infinite ammo, and will net player 1 $130-$140K in a 1 hour match. Since player 2 is dying and spawning in the same spot, they get the added bonus of picking up their own dropped money when they respawn, getting them approximately $20K per match for doing nothing. This method gets each player around $150-$160K over two 1 hour games.

Rubber banding method:

Thanks to fisha0505 for this awesome addition in the comments. You cannot use the above method with rubber banding as you will run out of ammo rather quickly.

It's important to add that the person doing the killing cannot be the host. The person who will be disconnecting their controller and getting killed must be the host or it does not work.

"For my solution, you will need to follow 2 important things, firstly in your preferences you select auto aim "disallowed", now start the match and have both players meet at the end if the pier, it is important that you do not collect any ammo at this stage, now if there is a security guard at end of pier kill him. It is important for the person going for kills to not collect ammo spawn from pier. Now the only thing left to my secret solution in obtaining infinite ammo is for the person who is being killed to DISCONNECT their controller, now the player who is ranking up can now stand over the ammo spawn point and continue to rubber ban the RT controller. Take a look closely that when you come close to running out of ammo, the game will now allow you to spawn 2 lots of ammo which brings you up to 50 ammunition bullets for you sniper rifle. This is real, try my solution without disconnecting other players controller, the game will not let you max out you gun. I hope my added solution makes you much more happier and allow gamers to rank up quicker"

Again, Shemp's method will get you a higher amount of money per hour, however..

1. While you will get $160K over 2 hours, you are only actively doing anything for 1 hour. While player 1 is killing, player 2 can be watching TV, running errands, sleeping, whatever. It’s $80K per hour of time your XBOX is being used, but $160K per hour of actual time playing the game.

2. Shemp’s method requires some set up time, maybe 10-20 minutes depending on skill level and sometimes luck. While you’ll make very good money over a 2-3 hour session, a 1 hr session won’t net you nearly as much per hour due to the setup time, and 30 minutes is not worth it at all. This method requires an initial 4-5 minutes to turn the spawn shield off and then 1-2 minutes to get into place in each match, that’s it. You will get the same amount per hour over 30 minutes or 2 hours. Several times I’ve felt like making some progress in Wanted but only had 30-45 minutes, making it pointless to attempt Shemp’s method, this gives you a good alternative in that situation.

3. You can rubber band this method, and both players can be doing something else for an hour.

While this doesn’t replace Shemp’s method, it does give you a viable alternative to make some progress if you’re short on time or have other things to do, or just want to switch things up from time to time.

This is my first solution, but I think I’ve explained everything pretty well. If you don’t like it, please tell me how I can improve it instead of just giving a negative vote.

What is the highest length for a match? I have never played TDM on TLAD, so is it 1 hr or can you make it endless and have the 2nd player drop when you want the match to end? I am curious because I wanted to turbo it while I sleep, but if it is only 1 hr matches then that is not gonna work. Either way thank you for explaining Darren's method better. Thumbs up from me.

60 minutes is the longest you can set up a match for. Unfortunately there is no way to leave it going all night, but you can still set it for the first hour to get some easy cash. If doing it with someone else, you can just trade off nights to keep it even.

I am not sure if you have done the spawns shielding off, but if you have can you explain it a little bit better than Darren? I have gone to TBoGT DM and then loaded my save for TLAD, but the spawn shielding is still in effect...

NVM, I figured it out now. I was only doing it with my main profile and not the secondary one that was dying.

I got $133,000 in an hour as the shooter and the "dieing" person got $16,000. so you can get about $75,000 per hour of xbox on time. if you have double xbox set up you can get $130,000 an hour. you need to make sure you go into TBoGT before you load up TLAD, and you need to make sure you don't run over a sniper on the way to the northwest dock. if you do that and stand on the ammo spawn you will have infinite ammo

Yeah, not really sure why we didn't run into the spawn shield issue the first time, but seems you have to go load up TBoGT each time before doing this. Not each match, if you play 4-5 matches in a row you only have to do it once, but each time you start this method. I think there is a fair amount of variation as to how much you pick up when getting shot also.

Using nothing but a turbo controller AFK with assault rifles, I was getting ~$63000 a match. This is considerably slower than other methods but the bonus is not having to be at the xbox at all!

Thanks for the input KabuKiArcade. Been meaning to do a full hour to see how much you get but haven't gotten around to it. I was hoping it would be a little more, but still, it's great to be earning money when your not even there.

I have set this up with my dummy account following all the requirements which netted me plus 100+, what I have encounter was that the sniper rifle ammo would run out before the ammo spawn collect. Once collected my controller would zoom out and stop firing weapon because I have LT and RT rubber banned, anyone got a suggestion? I think I also had auto aim on which might be a problem

I found my own solution using the tlad boosting method that nets you 130+ every hour, with infinite ammo and rubber banning controller to allow you to enjoy watching tv. Will try to provide a video by the end of the week hopefully.

@fisha

Can you write a mini guide in here? I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to understand and 130k without having to be at your controller for an hour would be amazing!

Thanks so much fisha - it works like a charm. I will note that it did not work for the first game though, which I discovered was due to who hosts the game. To take advantage of the double ammo spawn the person who's getting killed (the person who will disconnect their controller) MUST be the host.

No problems mate, with regards to the host disconnecting controller, I had never found any problems due to that fact that's how I set up all my games. Completion to achievement will take between 35-40 hours, only have $700,000 left from 4 days of boosting and doing nothing at all but watch TV, thinking about putting a guide once completed, thanks for your feedback

Just wanted to confirm fisha0505's modifications - I was getting ~$132500 average over 60 minutes using my turbo controller. This far and away beats the top score I had with assault rifles, which was $87000.

You can get 50k every 15 minutes after a 15 minute setup with Shemp's method BUT this one lets one person hang loose for an hour AND still get points while the other person does most of the work and they get points too! Another bonus is that there are NO little screw ups like, falling off the ships bridge, getting plugged by a fast sniper, getting killed by those dicks in the back of the armored car, having a helicopter land on you, getting hit with rotor blades then flung into the river, etc., etc. If you don't have 3 hours to do the Top Secret Boost do the No Secret Boost MFGodec method.

Addition to above: I did this with Spazpol today and we figured out that if the shooter rubber bands his controller neither one of us had to do anything for an hour unless we ran out of ammo. Then the shooter only had to adjust his aim a little bit. I wish I had been doing this from the beginning.

Can't seem to get that spawn shield off...
Always the same story, I doesn't have it so my partner can kill me repeatively but I can't. I have to wait 5 seconds.

Someone have any idea. We both join the same TBoGT lobby beforehand.

I ran across this method on x360a, and have been using it! Currently at 4.4million, should have rank 10 after work tomorrow! Genius solution, I love being able to mostly AFK boost multiplayer ranks that are tiered horribly like this.

This is by far the best method for Wanted available. One very good tip: the best way to hold the triggers down is to use the plastic wristbands similiar to the popular LiveStrong wristbands. Here's a link if you are unsure what I am talking about: http://www.store-laf.org/wristbands.html

By g7Bond on 25 Jul 2011 17:31
@g7Bond - you have to enter a TBoGT lobby in order to turn off the spawn shield. I guess you could try it without it, having the spawn shield on would probably only get you 1/3 - 1/4 of the money you would get without it. You could still rubberband it at least, so you could be earning money without actually playing, but I think it would only be 30-50k an hour, which will take you a very long time. It's some of the best DLC I've ever played though, so I would suggest getting both anyway if you can.

Thanks to everyone for the tips and adjustments to this, I stopped working toward Wanted for quite awhile and just recently got the motivation to go back and finish it up. When I get a chance I'll edit the solution to include fisha0505's rubberbanding fix, that definitely saved me a lot of time toward the end.

This is an amazing AFK solution! Thanks a ton, Godec and fisha. This seems like the most common boosting method now. I'm averaging about $77K / hour ($135K shooter + $20K victim) in relaxing, easy sessions.

I have been doing similar to fisha's method with 2nd account and turbo controller. I turboed both RT and B button on slowest speed so that I would reload between shots which ended up timing it about right with the other player's respawn and I wouldn't waste as many bullets. I then just taped down the LT and made small adjustments to aim when needed. Been getting ~$130,000 per hour.

I also have been doing this through the main game MP, not through TLAD. Might be a bit harder to match up this way, but hasn't been too bad for me so far since the MP is pretty dead. Just message me if you want more information.

Has this been patched? I tried doing it on the PC version and the person I was killing had a 5 sec spawn shield. We backed out and tried again with no luck. Has anyone else tried it on the PC version? I guess it either has been patched or it just doesn't work on the PC version.

The XBOX version isn't patched, I just talked to someone yesterday who was doing it and it worked fine. It must not work on PC, never tested it, I actually forgot there was a PC version. Thanks for the info, I'll add that to the solution.

Been doing this strategy for the last 4 days, went from $1,000,000 to $4,000,000 for about 10-12 hours each day. The person doing the killing averages about $135,500 to $137,500, while the person not doing anything gets around $20,700 to $21,900. Been rubber-banding our controllers and it works really well. Also your tip about letting the person dying being Host and shutting off their controllers works perfectly, ammo is rarely an issue.

Thank you for contributing to an awesome strategy to get a painful grind complete!

I see you got here just before me Knipfy :) just to add my 2 cent's. If you get the Assault Sniper Rifle spawning out on the pier instead of the Bolt Action, firing all the shots yourself (band the left trigger), effciently, can bring the killer's average up to about $143,000 - $146,500 per game and also increase the other persons average respectively. Boring I know but you cant rubber band the Assault Sniper without running out of ammo and sometimes its all that will spawn.

Thanks for this awesome solution, went from 600k to 5mil in 5 nights boosting :)

The method of shutting off the host's controller to double the ammo spawn does not work for me. Disconnecting the host's controller simply pauses the host's game and prevents them from respawning until the controller is reconnected and I back out of the pause menu (I'm using 2 Xboxes and 2 gold accounts). The one occassion I managed to disconnect the host controller without pausing it's game, the ammo continued to spawn at it's normal rate and I ran out of sniper ammo after about ten minutes. This hardly makes it an AFKable boosting method. Any idea why I can't get this to work properly?

I have no idea, I did not run into any problems like that nor did anyone I know that used it. Just to confirm, your 2nd account (the one getting killed) is the host? It should say Please reconnect controller for the host, but it shouldn't pause the game. Not sure what to tell you, if you are following the guide it should work fine.

By MFGodec on 19 Jan 2012 10:09
Yeah, the 2nd account is host. Just to clarify, this boost (and the ammo glitch) IS possible without the TLAD, right? Because someone in the comments mentioned doing it in the main GTAIV. The only other thing I could possibly think is wrong is that the pausing is caused when you disconnect a controller in the original GTAIV multiplayer, but not TLAD multiplayer, which might explain why no one else seems to have been having my problem (as I'm disabling spawn shield with TBoGT then starting a normal GTAIV DM and everyone else seems to have done it in TLAD from what I can tell). Thanks for your quick response by the way, I appreciate it.

By MFGodec on 19 Jan 2012 20:57
Hey DDShadow, can you confirm that was what was wrong with your game? I'm also working on this with a friend and he was the Host spot, every time he disconnected it would just despawn his character so he'd always have to reconnect. We were also playing on Regular GTAIV because we were doing it based on the Youtube video showing how to activate the spawn-shield removal glitch.

So after we remove the spawn shield, should me and my friend go over to TLAD and enter Death Match from there to get this Sniper Ammo Glitch to work? I'd love to tape down my R trigger and do something else for an hour at a time .__.

By TVthePunisher on 20 Jan 2012 04:10
Yes, after disabling the spawn shield in TBoGT, switch over to TLAD. To clarify for everyone else, the rubberband/double ammo glitch WILL NOT work if you're playing a Deathmatch in the original GTAIV multiplayer, as the ability to respawn while the controller is disconnected is disabled. This is not the case in a TLAD Deathmatch and the method will work properly.

I have joined a few sessions hosted by other people and know this method works great. I was constantly getting $125,000. Many thanks for this. However I recently set up my own session. I found that I would get a one headshot one kill and then the next shot would take take 3 or 4 shots despite hitting him in the centre of the head.
The other guy was getting one shot one kill as I was in my other sessions.
I have checked settings and everything appears correct. Can anyone advise?

@ DDShadow: Yea, I was doing it in the main game MP because I didn't want to get TLAD DLC for my alt account. The game was pausing when I disconnected the host controller and wasn't aware that wasn't suppose to happen. I think the reason it still worked for me is that I was using turbo controller with the RT and B button turboed on slowest speed. This made my character reload in between shots and save a lot of ammo. I think the ammo was just respawning before I ran out doing it this way.

I used the double Xbox rubberband method. It didn't always work.
- If my main character stepped on the ammo and it didn't disappear, I knew I had to restart.
- sometimes when I zoomed in with the scope I sous take a few steps toward and step off of the ammo. I solved this by sticking around until the first ammo respawn to make sure I didn't run out of ammo.
- the rest of the time my router or Internet connection wouldn't work. my solution would be to cuss out my set up and restart.

I'm not really sure. The only thing I can think of is maybe you're on the wrong pier? It's the northwest pier, I believe it's the longest one on the island. Sorry, I don't have the game anymore so I can't check. Other than that I can't think of anything, I've never heard of that happening to anyone, and I never saw armor there in all my time doing this.

I've just finished getting wanted after about a week of boosting.

There are a few things that i've worked out during that time.

it is important that you do not collect any ammo at this stage, now if there is a security guard at end of pier kill him.

1 - If you simply set pedestrians to OFF in the multiplayer lobby, then there will never be a security guard.

2 - The player killing is perfectly fine collecting ammo as soon as they get on the pier, the only important thing is that the other controller is connected by the time the NEXT ammo pickup comes around. This is because you starting ammo is sufficiently high that the first ammo pickup will always go up to 50.

3 - At the beginning of the match, holster you sniper rifle by switch you active weapon just to your fists, this will enable you to run faster to the pier.

4 - If one player reaches the pier before the other player gets onto the pier (due to different spawn locations or otherwise) then the first player can headshot the other just as the step onto the pier, causing them to spawn right at the end of the pier, this can often save an extra 20-30 seconds killing time.
Note: I have tested this with killing the player in the middle of the pier, at the beginning of the pier and standing on the path to the side of the pier, in each case they always spawned on the end of the pier.

5 - There are 2 kinds of sniper rifle that will spawn, your starting sniper with a 5 round magazine [1] and another sniper with a 10 round magazine and a faster fire rate [2].
Most often the 1st kind will spawn on the pier, which is what you want. Occasionally (~20% chance) the 2nd kind will spawn, which won't allow you to do the rubber band method, since you won't properly pickup ammo, causing you to run out early. If this happens, what you'll need to do is run back along the pier, then to the right along the path until you reach some fast food stand (hotdogs?) which will have another sniper spawn next to it. I have always found that if the 2nd kind of sniper spawns on the pier, then the 1st kind of sniper will spawn by the hotdog stand, I'm unsure if this can be guaranteed, but has always been the case for $4.5m boosting.
When you shoot from this location, make sure you crouch (click left stick) so that your reticule doesn't sway about and you can properly aim at the other character's head.

Note: When shooting from this location (hotdog stand) it is crucial that the other player doesn't reconnect their controlller part way through (to chat or check the time left or whatever), since there is a chance (not sure how probable) that they will respawn somewhere else on the island and have to run back to the pier.

In order to keep constant communication with the other player, i would suggest that when you are in the lobby for TLAD ready to go, connect a 2nd controller and sign in a dummy account, through which you can start a private chat with the other player (or their dummy account).

It's the NORTH pier you need to go to in case anyone gets confused.

This is the best solution (especially if you can double box.)

Feb 2020 Just trying to figure this one out, I cannot see any option to turn off the spawn shield in TBoGT. Is it in a certain game mode I have looked in ranked, Player match and party match. Deathmatch, team deathmatch etc. but cannot see a spawn shield option anywhere

Hey guys, so listen up. On February 24th, 2020 (Today). I did go to the Turf War and I started the game all over again like 23 or 25 times to get a lot of money for me because I’m a number one and finally without hacks and without a glitched too. I got Wanted Achievement. (Thanks to v7 SMoKeDoG 7v for helping me) I got Rank 10 and $5 Million Dollars. It takes a little while but not too much. It’s just how I got Wanted Achievement. It did worked for me. I got this achievement already. Thanks for this achievement guide! toast

Sorted it out I was looking for an option to turn spawn shield off but you only need to enter a lobby (with the mark) and the exit back into TLAD and the spawn shield is turned off. This is exactly what the CronusMax if for. Two xbox one's, two disc's of the game and one CronusMax to pull the right trigger every 2.75 seconds. Just wish you could set the game to longer than an hour.

By lowman90PL on 26 Feb 2020 15:15
I have been using this method from the start and always never been able to get double ammo. The first time i did this double boxing using a 360 and one, following the steps exactly as listed. I come back after the 60 mins with only about $20000! i was so annoyed. I thought what happened. Lucky enough my xbox is in my bedroom with my desktop pc so i can be doing things while keeping an eye on the GAME because i run out of ammo most of the times and end up shooting at the floor so have to move the SCOPE back to my dummys HEAD. It can be a pain but got used to it now after doing this for awhile. Only $1,372,342 to go to get to 5 mil.

It should be mentioned that the 'bullet sponge', NOT THE PERSON GOING FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT, should be the one doing 'spawn shield' disabling process.

A VERY important note for the people boosting this in the modern day: if you want to do the AFK rubber band Happiness Island strat, your main account (the one that will do the killing) needs to be on an Xbox 360!

If you are playing with a boosting partner then both of you need to be on the 360. When boosting this with two Xbox One’s (One X and Series X), the spawn shield would get disabled, but the ammo would never drop twice.

Moving my main account to a 360 made the ammo drop twice and made rubber banding while AFK possible.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH MATCHMAKING: so I just tried this for the first time & of course ended up with one that had a different version than me BUT HERE'S THE THING IT DOESN'T MATTER ... we did it as supposed to, load TBOGT lobby then TLAD lobby where we of course couldn't find each other so we simply decided to do it in the campaign deathmatch & surprise surprise, NO SPAWN SHIELD??? He ended up getting disconnected after 10mins so we did the steps again & it worked perfectly & I'm even wondering if you can't just load TBOGT & then go straight to the Campaign Deathmatch but can't confirm this yet so for now here's how:
Both players load up TBOGT lobby (no need to match up just load it) then the TLAD lobby & finally you match up in the campaign deathmatch lobby & simply follow the normal steps with happiness island, 1sec respawn, Sniper rifles & so forth so basically everythings the same you just no longer have to worry about having the same versions of the DLC's smile

Finally got this with the happiness island 1 hour sniper matches until it unlocked, but it took longer than expected. Be aware that if xbox live goes offline for whatever reason then your rank will drop back down again. This happened twice (once when I was past $4million 😫). As mentioned above the series x will freeze after 3 or 4 matches, so don't use that for the shooter as you will need to reboot every few matches. My 360 was solid throughout. Good luck to anyone who tries to do this in one go.

I'd just like to mention that you don't need TLaD to do the spawn shield glitch; you can load into normal GTA IV. In case you're like me and you had to buy GTA IV and TBoGT on an alt account just to boost this and wanted to spend as little as possible.

Been reading everything about this, and the issues with progress not saving etc. So if I played a deathmatch under 5 minutes, that will also save what level i have progressed to? Or does it have to be something like Hangmans NOOSE etc?
0
0
By Islandweller on 12 Mar 2022 15:31
I should have elaborated, but i think i found my answer now anyway. If you are doing the TLAD deatchmatch on happiness island, afk in 1 hour matches etc. That progress will not save whatsoever. So you have to be doing that method the whole time without quitting out of your game until you get to rank 10.
The only way to get any levelling up progress to save is when playing and completing any kind of online match within 5 minutes.

My original thought was that you could do 1 hour matches and get loads of levelling up done, then play a 5 minute match afterwards for all the progress to save, but this is not the case. All that will save is whatever you did within the 5 minute match/matches

Rheinadler it used to, I know a few that did it that way just remember it's a long time to keep your console on +40hrs & if your xbox freezes or you lose connection to XBL you'll lose all progress but unless it's changed again it should still work, good luck 🤞

@Reinhandler, this was how I did it. I finished this game off last year when the leaderboards had already broken and I got to max rank by leaving the consoles on and getting the whole thing done in "one sitting". It kinda sucked seeing my level go back from 10 down to 1, though :,(

I thought I left a comment here when I did the achievement, I guess I didn't.. I did the whole sitting in one.. It took 40 hours all up.. I started early in the morning around 9am.. Every hour setting it up to go for the hour.. Around 1am I went to sleep but set an alarm to wake me every hour to setup again.. I slept about 7 hours or so.. Then I stayed up for the remaining time to see it though.

So for those wondering is it viable.. Yes it is.. Just make sure you've got a cable in the back as the last thing you want is for your WiFi to drop on the console during the 40 hours.. Which did happen around 24 hours in the first time I tried.

You can do that, or if you have a Cronus, you can essentially automate the Happiness Island killing method so that you only have to interact with the game every hour, and just let it keep running until you're done. It's not super accessible since a lot of people don't have Cronus devices, but if you don't want to get a Cronus, the sniper glitch or Hangman's NOOSE that you can grind. Personally, I never had any luck getting the sniper glitch to work effectively and in the long run it wasn't worth the headache, but maybe it'll work better for you.

Captn Insano72 lol yeah that's how we did it, I even stuck around helping my boosting group for a few months after laugh however once you get good at it it can be done in around 2 min, the trick is learning how to crashland the chopper in a way that triggers the goal without killing everyone, very nailbitting the first few times because you really don't wanna be the guy that cause everyone else to loss their progress but once you learn it you'll save so much time ... anywhooo good luck 🤞😁🤞

I did this one today in about 7 hours using the bomb da base glitch and using the sniper rifle. Got $100,000 every 8 minutes, so a little over an hour to get $1,000,000. The method i did was almost entirely automatic, just had to occasionally touch the controller to make sure it didn't turn off.

my advice to anyone trying to get this starting at $0 or very little is to make sure you are on a wired connection. I was 23 hours into this method and there was just a little blip in the WiFi for a split second, just enough to disconnect my xbox from online and I lost it all. this solution is pretty good but I ended up switching to bomb da base in the intrest of time, I got it done in about 7 hours, 600k-800k for a 50-60 minute match.

My friends and I will be using the deathmatch/Happiness Island method (we're big fans of boosting kills while away from the controller). A few comments:

We just tested playing TBOGT multiplayer with a combination of DLC and Disc people, and it worked fine. It's possible that TLAD is different, but I have to be skeptical based on this (didn't test TLAD itself yet because I deleted it and it was short notice). The spawn shield trick works if you simply get into a lobby, by the way, you don't need to actually play. Not that you said otherwise, but I imagine some people reading the guide were doing extra work just to be safe. It's also worth mentioning that the trick only affects the person who does the switch; everyone has to do it if you want everyone's shields off, not just one person or the host.

Firstly i do not take credit for the above method, but I do take credit for discovering my own solution to rubber ban controller with infinite ammo using just the SNIPER RIFLE. As i mentioned you can earn 130+ an hour, and you can still enjoy watching TV without even touching your controler. I believe this is the fastest way to rank up. Now this method can be used with a dummy account or 2 players, but I have not tested this with 3 people. "Just tell me ur Solution". Ok, I am all assuming you are following this guide and you have already turned spawn shield off. For my solution, you will need to follow 2 important things, firstly in your preferences you select auto aim "disallowed", now start the match and have both players meet at the end if the pier, it is important that you do not collect any ammo at this stage, now if there is a security guard at end of pier kill him. I hope my added solution makes you much more happier and allow gamers to rank up quicker and

FYI, if you have three people, you can use assault rifles and camp the center spawn to pick up ammo drops from your kills. With a turbo controller (Hori EX2) set to max speed you can get $185k (minimal babysitting) to 210k (pumping the LT) in one hour. Spawning can be a bit dodgier than the 2-person sniper rifles (people occasionally spawn on top of each other and push one player to the side), but it pushes the cash earned up a lot.

I used both the method in this solution and the above to get my Wanted in a few months of pretty casual boosting.

Fisha0505. Thank you. Best method ever. After choring through 2.5 million of actually sitting there and shooting a gun I found your method and I was able to finish off the grind in a little over a day of letting it rubber band. It takes less than 5 minutes to set up and then you can go and do whatever for about 56 minutes and come back and set it up again.

Does anyone have an idea as to why I am getting killed by a police helicopter every 20 minutes? I have pedestrians off and traffic parked. I checked the huts for the security guard and he wasn't there. I have had one run where I don't become wanted but all other times my rubber band method gets interrupted. I've completed about 8 matches.

**update**
Thanks to BigVWreckinBall, he mentioned multiplayer preferences in your phone. My account had police set to ON. That's why I couldn't turn them off, changed that to OFF and now everything is smooth sailing.

Doing this in 2017. Using two Xbox One consoles - one Xbox One, and one Xbox One X. A few tips for people doing this on backwards compat, as it seems to work differently for me, slightly.

- You will need to move the gamepad every 10 minutes or so or it will disconnect. I can't seem to find a setting on Xbox One that prevents the gamepad from disconnecting even while plugged in with micro USB. I recommend moving the left stick as it only affects the zoom on the scope.

- You will need to shoot manually for a bit. It seems that the double weapon spawn only seems to start to happen at around the 47 minute mark.

Edit: Update and shortened my comment.

Finally manged to get this achievement done using the rubber band method. Online progress seems to not save once the game is shut off as mentioned above, so doing this achievement in one sitting seems to be the only way now (unless it's fixed). I spoke to Rockstar Support about this a few times but it went absolutely nowhere. I believe this thread talks about the issue and how it's happening: Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic and Wanted (2019)

Also, using this method caused my Series X to become unresponsive and then completely shutdown multiple times, this usually would always occur in the 3rd game so I just closed the game and loaded it back up after every 2nd game. Since my dummy account isn't going for the achievement, it doesn't matter if it's losing progress when I restart it. The ammo drop worked 100% every time on Series X, I sadly couldn't get it to work at all on my Xbox One.

Thank you to everyone above.

Never did it as I can't see that as a possible solution both because the saves are on the cloud but more importantly I have played with some where between 50 & 100 people since I started chasing this achievement & you are the only one who have managed to keep it after dashboarding, wondering if maybe you have been lucky enough to keep the game available through quick resume since that means you never exit the game I have had that work once or twice but unlike Xbox one games 360 games seem to almost always start over after dashboarding but please feel free to try it & let me know if it works.
The guy I'm boosting with & I tried a lot trying to troubleshoot this but never found a valid & reliable solution, we had a few that seemed to work but they always came short so trust me if you find a fix a lot of people are gonna be very grateful.
Anyway good luck with finishing the game no matter how you do it wave

@Mr PullOut711 you can always see if the servers are closed by simply checking the "Game information" in the right side on any games achievement page here on TA, though they don't always know beforehand TA will always mark a game, with a big red box, if servers has been closed as well as how many achievements that got discontinued by it.
But to answer your question, yes the online is still up & afaik it's peer-to-peer so it's unlikely to go anywhere how ever be warned that this is now a lot grindier than it used to be, you can look through the comments/forums to see why, good luck 🤞🙂

Great solution Godec and fisha. I did this with 2 boxes/2 DLC disks in about 40 hours, but the best part is you only have to be at your console for a fraction of that. A few observations for those using the same method:
- depending on spawn points it takes about 2.5-3 minutes to run both players to the pier, giving an average of $132-133K per 60 minute game.
- Rarely, one guy spawns on the south end of the central hub of the island. There is sometimes a faggio scooter tucked into a small alley near a hot dog cart.
- A couple times I ran out of ammo before it re-spawned which resets your aim. If you are AFK this essentially wastes a game. To avoid this, after unplugging the alt controller and stepping on the ammo with your primary, fire 2-3 single headshots manually before rubber banding. This ensures the ammo has enough time to re-spawn before you run out.
- An annoying bug is that sometimes the game registers the sniper ammo as an assault rifle even if you pick snipers in the lobby and the guns on the ground look like sniper rifles. I couldn't figure out why, but it happened to me 8 times and forces you to restart.
- If you are going to boost over multiple sessions, it's worth taking 5 minutes to run through the first TBoGT mission with your alt. It will save a couple minutes on the initial loading screens, which adds up if you are setting this up many times. The TLAD loading screens were short so I didn't bother with it.
- After each match hit A to continue with your alt first, then your main acct. The alt has to be the host (as mentioned above) or this won't work.

After reading through all of the comments and working on the rubber band method myself, I think I've found an easy way for the ammo to drop twice in a non-DLC Deathmatch lobby.

My main profile has been on the 360 whilst my secondary is on the One. When first trying it out, I couldn't make sense of why the ammo wasn't dropping twice until a good portion into the game. I then noticed it would only happen when the Xbox One would start to go idle, the equivalent of the controller being disconnected in a TLAD lobby.

Luckily, you can change the idle time (screen dim) to 2 minutes in the Xbox One system settings. Once the player being shot goes idle, then the ammo will drop twice. I'd also recommend keeping the One controller plugged in, as it will eventually turn off and pause the game, stopping the person from re-spawning. This just means the person going for the money will have to hold the trigger for about 2 minutes until the double ammo starts to appear, then you can use the rubber band for the remainder of the match.

Hope this helps for anyone who's using the 360 and the One like I am.

Been reading everything about this, and the issues with progress not saving etc. So if I played a deathmatch under 5 minutes, that will also save what level i have progressed to?
It will should but since you'd get less $ from that I doubt it'll be worth it,doing a Hard run on Hangman can be done in 2min well maybe 2:30 for newcomers & that gives everyone 4500$ plus anything from 0-1000$ to whoever are taking down cops (so 2 or 3 players each get 4500$ plus whatever $ they can get from cops which is very random, we had one on a lucky run get almost 2,000 on other runs we'd hardly get anything because you have to do it without slowing down the run so when chopper lands you are close to it, ready to get in as soon as Petrovic is close to get in)
So with at least 2 people doing death match you'd have to get more than 4500$ (2250$ per player) every min to be worth it but of course death match can be done with a second profile but when we tested it 6months ago it definitely weren't worth it instead we put up sessions & made a group chat on Xbox with active players so after a few weeks we could simply ask for players in the chat, again it is doable with 2player but easier with 3, you can have a 4th player but they would have to go straight to the landing site in a 2nd chopper so they aren't doing anything to make it neither harder or easier but then they would also get money, in other words only use a 4th player to help that player.
This achievement was quite the grind but compared to
Gears of WarSeriously ...The Seriously ... achievement in Gears of War worth 352 pointsKill 10,000 people in versus ranked match total
that I did straight after it's a cake walk ... Good luck 🤞🙂

Guide For 2023 09 08

Okay So Dued To A Glitch With The Trueskill System Your Rank Can Reset After You Exit Multiplayer

So.. That Means This Is Unachievably Now Right...(?)

Hahaha No It Is

You Have Two Options Play A Five Minute Ranked Deathmatch Followed By A Ranked Race Then Gta Race

Or The Better Method

Master Hangmans Noose On Hard You Net About 3,500 Every Five Minutes And It Actually Saves Your Progress

Have Two Players One Must Get The Cart That Spawns Nearby And Drive As Close To The Helicopters As You Can Roughly One Minute To Helipad I Recommend Staying Close To The Left Walls And Never Stopping

The Guy Who Stays Near Petrovic Will Head Tap As Many Noose As They Can If You Do Not Kill Enough Do Not Worry Have Your Helicopter Buddy Help You

Now Theres A Few Problems You Run Into

Petrovic Can And Will Get Stuck Outside The Plane If Hes On The Right Wing Aim Your Trusty Ak47 Towards Him But Carefully Hold RT Not Fully And Slowly Push Petrovic Around The Plane

If He Gets Stuck Behind The Plane Direct You Will Have To Blow Him Up To Unclip Him Hopefully He Gets Unstuck

You And Your Partner Then Must Get In The Helicopter With Petrovic And Fly To The Baseball Field
*Memorize Its Locateion*

If Your Helicopters About To Blow As A Last Ditch Effort You May Land Tap A Health Pack To Restore Your Helicopter

If All Goes Well You Should Get Roughly 3500 Or Even 4500

For Wanted Just Keep Replaying This All Day Its A Slow But Sure Fire Way To Make Progress As It Actually Saves The Money Ranking Each Time It Took A Thousand Replays But I Got Wanted On My Main Account master pro 8918

I Think Its A Miracle The Servers Are Up So If You Want This Achievement I Would Suggest Starting This Immediately . . .

I've been using the MFGodec + fisha0505 method recently and it works like a charm as long as you follow the setup instructions, turn off cops, and plug in your controller (The person shooting at least. Person dying should be unplugged anyways). 58 minutes of idle boosting after a 2 minute setup nets $152k between the 2 boosters. Easy peasy...

The one weird thing I've come across a few times now is that the 10 shot semi-auto sniper will spawn at the NW pier every once in a while, which runs out of ammo WAY too fast to rubberband RT. I haven't read about that happening to anyone else, but it usually goes away after going back to the lobby 1 or 2 times. Maybe if this happens the 5 shot bolt-action sniper shows up on the other pier? Haven't investigated yet, but that's really the only thing I've run into that even slightly stalls this boosting method if you set everything up right.

Thanks guys!

Okay im gonna explain what happened.
Ive been playing since 2009 especially Deal Breaker so i can explain what happened.

Every game LONGER than 5:50 DOESNT save on the leaderboards since 2022. Before 2022 it was the same if ANY game was longer than EXACTLY 60mins. Rockstar decided back then to make every game not count that is longer than 60mins.

This is the reason why just for instance if you start a ranked TDM and put the duration on 60mins, as soon as the game started you wont see the timer on 59:59 it will rather be from the beginning visible on 59:56.

I dont know why and how but the timer got set down on EXACTLY 5:50. That means EVERY ranked game in EVERY gamemode that is longer going on than 5:50 WONT upload to the leaderboards.(even the Gamemodes without a timer which is kind of interesting) Which means as soon as you quit GTA IV the money will be gone.

It doesnt have anything to do with the TrueSkill system as someone mentioned up there. You could start a game with 2 players and even if the second player quits AFTER 5:50 have passed by the game WONT count for the Leaderboards.( and games where everyone quit wont count towards the TrueSkill system anyway). So to earn rank 10 in a natural way the only possibility now is to grind Hangmans Noose. Or have someone who knows what hes doing and playing also Bomb da base II and Deal breaker.

To the creator of this solution you should add these information into your solution.

Ive been helping around 1k people with the achievement fly the coop and people are keep asking me why there games arent visible on the Leaderboards.

I hope this information clarifys why its glitched.

Yeah I too talked to R* who claims that it's because of corrupted save file so we just have to do a hard reset, funny how every one doing this has run in to that exact same problem at the same time but it did confirm my suspicion that they aren't gonna lift a finger to fix this
Also I read the link above & he says that you should be able to trigger a saveby doing 1 of a few specific game types under 5 min, the only one I found doable was Hangman's Noose which actually is surprisingly easy within that time frame I did 3 in a row with a random playing on hard & for me it worked those money was saved however I know of 2 others that haven't had luck using this method so yeah at this time it looks like it's either using double boxing & risk having your Xbox turned on for +40hrs or risk losing whatever money you've made from boosting I'd you can't get it to trigger save roll
I will try the suggested solution by R* & update my findings in here but I am not very hopeful with a full 4.6million to go until I reach level 10 shock

EDIT: There was a glitch discovered that allows for earning Wanted much more quickly than Hangman's NOOSE permits. With this in mind, here is the Hangman's NOOSE guide I wrote in case you you want to utilize a non-glitch method, unedited.

Hangman's NOOSE, by far, is the most effective way to reach rank 10 without using glitches. I spent nearly 100 hours playing this one mini-game to unlock this achievement, if you need a scale of how truly long this is going to take. The following is a guide I wrote for the game "Hangman's NOOSE" originally on the website xbox360achievements.org, here is a link:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75...

In my recent hunt for the "Wanted" achievement, I have come across problems involving inexperienced players. Because of this, I felt compelled to write a guide of sorts to try and help new Hangman's NOOSE players understand the fineries of playing the game.

It takes more total Hangman's NOOSE playtime to unlock "Wanted" then it does for most players to 100% the main game. Because of this, Hangman's NOOSE is a game played constantly by GTA 4 achievement hunters.

This thread is here to help people understand how to complete Hangman's NOOSE quickly, using the fastest known way to finish the mission. There are slight variations and little quirks to the way everyone plays this game, and you will develop your own. Experience at playing this game is just about required for you to become a good player of it. My hope is that this thread will help people go strait from "having no idea how to play" to "knows the correct techniques but has yet to master them" so that experienced players don't have to be messed up in the learning process.

--=How to set up the game as the party leader=--

As the party leader, your game's rules should look like this:

* Mission Difficulty- Hard--- you get 2500$ for winning on easy, 3500$ with medium, and 4500$ with hard. All easy and medium do that is different than hard is giving you a few extra lives.
* Friendly Fire- Off
* Auto Aim- Allow
* Traffic- Parked
* Pedestrians- Off
* Gamertag Display- On
* Ridicule Health- On
* Voice Chat- On
* Time of Day- Your choice, I prefer midnight though
* Weather- Clear
* Description- Doesn't matter
* Radio Station- Your choice, I prefer Liberty Rock though
* Kick Player- Use this to boot players

--=General Tips for Everyone=--

* - Stick with your job
* - The airport cart is first come first serve, the first to get to the cart are the helicopter getters
* - Don't use grenades in excess, they tend to just blow up your own team more than your enemies
* - Don't try to get Petrovic to the extraction in any besides a helicopter
* - The jump may be fun to go off of with the cart, but it slows you down, so don't go off it
* - Don't get in the way of the Petrovic Picker Upper, and try to listen to his orders, he usually dishes them out for a good reason
* - Communication is key, talk with your team at all times and tell each other things they need to know
* - If you don't have a microphone, you should most definitely buy one
* - If a player meaningfully makes your team lose, avoid them so that you have a low chance of playing with them again
* - Boot these types of players and warn everyone of the player if you happen to play a second game with the same person
* - Petrovic's AI is horrible 80% of the time, so get used to it
* - A message saying either "get transport" or "your team has transport" will appear once your shooters have 15 kills
* - A message saying "Petrovic has transport" will appear when your team either has Petrovic in the chopper or someone who doesn't know how to play has picked up Petrovic in a car, van, etc
* -Don't expect to get the same job every time, because you won't
* -It is just as easy to do this mission with 3 people as it is with 4 people. The Extraction Point Person's job is by no means required with 3 people, so if you ever play a game with 3, have 2 shooters and 1 Petrovic Picker Upper

--=The Jobs=--

the following are all of the possible "jobs" as I call them. Each of these jobs must be done (minus Extraction Point Person with a 3 person team) for a game to be completed. You have be able to do each of the following jobs, as you will be required to do each and every task at one point or another.

--=Petrovic Picker Upper=--

This job belongs to the person who picks up Petrovic and the 2 shooters with a helicopter. A good grasp on general helicopter flying, fast landing, and low flying techniques will really help you with this job.

Get in the airport buggy that will take you and the Extraction Point Person to the helicopters. It doesn't matter if you drive, just do whatever is fastest. If you can use the faster route consistently without hitting everything, take that path. If not, the slightly slower path is fine.

Once you arrive at the helicopters, the best stopping method is to ram into the northern-most red and white short wall that surrounds the helicopter pads. You get into the northern helicopter, as your job is much more urgent than the Extraction Point Person's job.

Get into the helicopter, fly low (without hitting things) and fly in the direction of Petrovic. When you start to get close, hold the RB trigger, you want to be facing the same direction as Petrovic's jet when you close in on it. This is so that you can approach at a high speed, then lean to the right and hit the gas. The quickest stopping method on a helicopter possible (while in the air) is to lean in the direction that your momentum isn't going then trying to fly in that direction. Time your stop correctly, and then lower yourself onto the yellow arrow. When landing, be sure that the yellow arrow has vanished to be sure that you have landed in an area that Petrovic will respond to. If the Shooters do not have enough kills, tell them to kill more people, as for some reason they tend to not realize that they have yet to get their kills.

Once Petrovic and your two shooters are in the chopper, take off. Now, this is the part that separates the new players from the experienced ones. The trick here is to fly as low as humanly possible without hitting things. Why? Because gaining and losing altitude slows down your forward motion, which makes you lose time. As soon as you take off, cut your distance close with the hangers in front of you, as your shooters may be close to dieing. Now just fly forward, gaining small amounts of height as needed.

At this point, the Extraction Point Person should be on the extraction point. Here is where you crash land. The biggest problem here is the scoreboard on the east side of the field. And it just so happens that the east side of the field is the quickest side to enter from. Try to stay at a height that is just above the scoreboard as you approach it. Right before you go over it, hit the decelerator, still moving at full speed. If all goes well, your Extraction Point Person may go flying 250 feet, and the game will end.

A few things to remember as a Petrovic Picker Upper:

* -Altitude is your enemy, fly low, but don't crash
* -Try to check if your Extraction Point Person is actually on the point, as if he is not your perfect crash landing will turn into the game continuing with you possibly flying into the water with a mutilated helicopter
* -Petrovic's AI is horrible, so don't get too mad if he falls over, sits there for 5 seconds, stands up, stands there for 5 seconds, THEN continues as he was supposed to
* -If you crash into the water with Petrovic, it is extremely hard to get him back out
* -If your helicopter is on fire or it loses its tail, you can pick up a health pack for it to be back to 100% health, with a brand new tail

--=Extraction Point Person=--

As the Extraction Point Person, you have the laziest and the easiest job. The only thing you have to worry about is getting to the extraction point before the rest of your team does, which really isn't that hard to do.

Get in the airport buggy that will take you and the Petrovic Picker Upper to the helicopters. It doesn't matter if you drive, just do whatever is fastest. If you can use the faster route consistently without hitting everything, take that path.

Once you arrive at the helicopters, the best stopping method is to ram into the northern-most red and white short wall that surrounds the helicopter pads. You get into the southern, farther away helicopter, as your job is less urgent than the Petrovic Picker Upper's job.

To start, go headshot the two NOOSE members by the armored van adjacent to your helicopter. Get into your helicopter, and head to the extraction point.

The extraction point is on the north-eastern part of Charge Island, in the center of the baseball field. Try to get over there quickly, as if your team mates do especially well they could be over there in a short amount of time. As you approach the field, the best way to stop your helicopter is to crash into the trees/the scoreboard on the eastern side of the field. Once you stop, get out of your helicopter and stand in the center of the field. Do not for any reason leave the center of the field. At this point, you have done your job.

A few things to remember as an Extraction Point Person:

* -If there are only 3 people in your game, this is the job does not need to be done
* -Don't try to kill pedestrians around the field for a few spare bucks, half the time it will result in very angry team mates who flew into the water because you were not on the center
* -Don't follow your Petrovic Picker Upper to give him "back-up." You do not help, and when you do so, your Petrovic Picker Upper can't crash land
* -The yellow marker does not have to be there for you to head to the point
* -Don't take the northern helicopter, you don't need the 10 seconds it takes to get the southern one, your Petrovic Picker Upper does

--=Shooter=--

As the shooter, you and another player (who is also a shooter) kill NOOSE members while your Petrovic Picker upper and your Extraction Point Person get the helicopters.

Your only real job is to bring your team's total kills to 15 so that Petrovic is willing to get out of his jet. As soon as you have 15 or more kills, get into the Petrovic Picker Upper's chopper so that he can take off as soon as Petrovic gets in the chopper. Be sure to shoot out of the sides of the chopper to fend off the NOOSE members who get too close to you. As soon as Petrovic, gets in the chopper and your Petrovic Picker Upper has gotten you away from the airport, sit back and enjoy the ride.

A few things to remember as a Shooter:

* -Always try to get head shots on the NOOSE members, it will get you a lot more kills
* -When possible, grab a NOOSE assault rifle. They are way more accurate, allowing you to get long distance head shots
* -Do not for any reason try to pick up Petrovic in a car/bike/NOOSE van to take him to the extraction. A Helicopter is much, much faster, and you will not be helping your team by taking him to the extraction in a car
* -If your helicopter flier somehow can't pick up Petrovic, you can get Petrovic in a car to try and bring him to a safe helicopter pick-up location. DO NOT do this if not absolutely required for Petrovic to not die
* -If you and your fellow shooter die at the same time when a NOOSE member is close to Petrovic, it is game over. The game thinks of it as nobody protecting Petrovic and you will lose
* -Don't leave Petrovic's general area (aka the area where NOOSE members are most abundant) while waiting for the chopper to pick everyone up
* -Get to the helicopter that is going to pick you and Petrovic up ASAP when it lands. You will not help by shooting as you run to the chopper
* -Don't try to run people over, shooting is far more effective. If you say it isn't, you aren't aiming for heads

The only other problem that you may experience are the players that meaningfully keep your team from winning that I mentioned before. All they do is mess up your team without the want to win the game. You really can't deal with them, as winning is a total team effort. If one person isn't on the extraction, then nobody can win. I suggest leaving the game via your cellphone if you meet one of these types of players. As said before, they are not there to win, so with one of them in your party, you can't win.

Well, that's about all I have to say. Happy playing, and good luck with unlocking the prestigious "Wanted" achievement.

Very detailed for Hangmans Noose, but wouldn't Bomb Da Base II be quicker? if you play that on hard difficulty you get $4500 for completing the mission, plus $100 per kill on the boat, most matches i'm usually on about $6000 -$6500 per match.(15-20 kills)

*to above* no cause that takes ATLEAST 5:30 if your good, where as for the same time (roughly) you can make alittle more on NOOSE.

1 rank to go!

Great solution. I did the solution for Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic and yours is way more detailed so 'thumbs up' for you! :).

I'm so close to level 9 ATM, it's so long and boring... I always try to fly the helicopter to Petrovic though as so many people try and fail to do it correctly.

This is probably one of the most horrible achievements I've ever had the misfortune to try to attain. Not only does its mere existence testify the fact that Rockstar wanted to artificially inflate their (terribly shitty) online community (a horrible, ass-backwards decision), it's also terribly frustrating and requires bridging if you are a normal person and can't handle countless hours of dealing with the scummy underbelly of the gaming community, whose sole goal is to mess up your current game of Hangman's NOOSE, thereby tacking on another five or six minutes of time wasted in your already horrible and stressed-out life.

Nice guide, by the way.

And yet even with the people who want to screw around the whole game and the annoyingly long climb up to Rank 10, it still is far easier to attain than General in Halo Wars. The two rank systems are similar enough, and even though the General rank in HW in points is technically lower (2.4 million compared to 5 flat), you then have to take into account the same scummy underbelly that ego referred to (I get either some guy who devotes his whole life to HW multiplayer and flattens me, or the guy who would be my equal skillwise more or less who either quits outright or quits after I beat his rush back), and the fact that the points/dollars achieved through only minutes of gameplay in GTA 4/NOOSE takes at least an HOUR in HW. So in that light, Wanted is just annoying. Running The Show is on the insane side of "oh ^*@)."

I don' t like the "boot people without microphones" suggestion. I'm deaf and unable to use one, and don't need one to play any of GTA's multiplayer games. I'm smart enough to know what to do and take cues from what I see other players are doing.

Since I don't have a mic I get booted a lot and it's frustrating because I'm not a horrible player. There are better players than I am of course, but I'm good enough to make a decent partner in co-op games.

You definitely don't need a mic to succeed in this, in fact most of the times I've played no one bothers to communicate anyway regardless of whether anyone has a mic. My fastest time is 1:40 thanks to the amazing pilot I was matched with (and he didn't have a mic). Currently at Rank 8, should reach Rank 9 in just over a week and Rank 10 beginning of March if I can keep up the rate I'm going at.

I just want to note that this is not the best way to get to rank 10, there is a glitch on BDB2 that few people know which is a bit faster since it can be done in one game. Here is the glitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iXKH_8mDYM

I don't know the full complete instructions on how to do this, but I know most of it. PM me if you want to know more.

I also want to note that there are some annoying Rank 10's out there who intentionally mess you up by doing this glitch on NOOSE. The glitch is basically if you die in Algonquin (I'm pretty sure this also applies to Alderney as well), the other players in the game can't finish as long as the player who died in another island chooses to stay in the game. If the player who died in another island leaves (which he eventually will), everyone gets "Mission Failed".

I once played a 4 player game with a rank 10 dude called "Colonelx Sanders" or something like that. In the beginning, he ran towards the buggy thing and I ran and got on with him since there were 4 people and I knew we needed 2 choppers, but he drove all the way to Algonquin with the other players waiting for him to get a chopper which he didn't. In Algonquin, he got off and blew himself up 3 times. I ended up surviving and driving all the way to the Helitour place and getting a copter from there. At this point, the 2 other people already realized that they weren't gonna get transport from him so they had already picked up petro and gotten to the point. I flew all the way back there, but when I got to the yellow marker (with everyone else already on it), the game kept saying to wait for the rest of your crew even though we were all already there. After around 20 minutes ( I think the rank 10 watched a bit of TV or something), he left the game and the screen automatically went to the "Mission Failed" screen.

If this happens to you, just leave the game immediately. If you have some money, explain to everyone what the person who's glitching is doing, and then kill petrovic.

Be aware that playing Hangman's NOOSE with two people causes shotgun NOOSE agents to spawn -- the very same shotguns from the campaign that take your entire health stock and kill you in one hit from 30+ feet.

Contrary to what the guide suggests, do not ever drive Petrovic to the helicopters. Police swarm the helipads and you have a miniscule-to-zero chance of getting both players and Petrovic out alive. If one of you isn't good enough to hold out against the NOOSE alone for a minute and thirty seconds (which is the longest the Petrovic picker upper should EVER take to land) then wait for a third person. In addition, I highly suggest you pick one thing, hone it, and always do it. I'm a fantastic shooter and a mediocre pilot, and I refuse to take a piloting role when I have the option.

GTA 4 vet here, the sniper glitch on BDB2 is faster, but if you're a casual gamer, you'll want to stick to boosting NOOSE.

A note on lobbies: The Rockstar servers don't allow for private ranked lobbies, so you're always going to be jumping about, trying to find each other.

One suggestion for you people trying to get your boosting party into the same lobby faster: Change a setting to something people usually don't use. For example, set friendly fire to "ON." If everyone in your party has the same rare setting, then you are all more likely to jump into the same public ranked lobby.

Something that doesnt seem to be in any post is the following
You need $5million to reach max level and here is how the levels break down.

Rank 0 - $0 -- This is the beginning rank for online Multiplayer
Rank 1 - $1,000
Rank 2 - $10,000
Rank 3 - $50,000
Rank 4 - $100,000
Rank 5 - $250,000
Rank 6 - $500,000
Rank 7 - $750,000
Rank 8 - $1 Million
Rank 9 - $2.5 Million
Rank 10 - $5 Million

You should add that shooters trying to nab any money from NOOSE past the :45 second mark will be HURTING the team because the CASH/XP PER MINUTE goes down when they waste time trying to pick up money.

If the helicopter lands and Petrovich is walking to it, all members of the team should be at the helicopter providing cover, and whatever money is on the ground needs to be given up. You can manage to complete the mission in less than 2 minutes, netting you $9000 in less than 4 minutes, drastically reducing the time it takes to level up.

If you waste time trying to get money, you end up beating the mission past the 2:32 mark and thus you end up wasting your time and netting less CASH/XP PER MINUTE, thus taking that much longer to level up.

You gotta think long term with games like this.

A few other points I feel people could take note of, these can be common occurrences:

- Although a few people don't like going into a game with just two players, it's very doable as long as you stick together. If one person goes for the chopper straight away and the one defending Petrovic dies, Petrovic himself automatically dies. If you're in a game of 2 people, just kill NOOSE until you can pick up Petrovic in a van. If your partner instinctively goes for the chopper and leaves you to defend by yourself, do your best not to die (although dying won't always cause you to instantly fail the mission but this, too, is rare).
- If you head to the helicopters via the north exit, you can time it well enough and drop a grenade so that it explodes just as a NOOSE van rolls in. Definitely helps the people defending Petrovic.
-If your team mates don't seem to be co-operating and are driving Petrovic to the extraction in a van/want to get a chopper of their own, don't chase them in your chopper and try and get them to enter. 9/10 times they're too stubborn to do so, even if it is quicker, and you'll often crash by trying to land near them as they get to their destination. Just go to the extraction point and wait for them.
- If no-one gets into the cart with you at the beginning (so there's 3 people defending), there's usually a scramble to get into the helicopter as people realise there isn't enough room for everyone plus Petrovic. One person is then left behind. Go straight to the extraction point and drop off the other 2, and, harsh as it may be, don't fly back over and try to pick the remaining player up. By this time they'll have gone for a chopper of their own, or they're probably back at the plane fighting NOOSE. Either way you'll waste time trying to rescue them, and if they're going solo against the NOOSE they're likely to run out of lives soon anyway.
- Petrovic rarely glitches in his spawning, but when he does, he'll be on the other side of the plane. It's possible to run around to where he is and "push him". He'll fall over a lot but if you can push him past the nose of the plane, you can get back into the helicopter and he'll follow you no problem.

Awesome Video Shemp. Trust me this is so much better than playing Hangman's Noose and searching for a lobby every 4 or 5 minutes. Doing this method of boosting is the easiest way of hitting rank 10.

You must dedicate yourself to this method. You need to conserve ammo as well. I mean if if you can hit 1-2 shots to each of these guys heads you can reap the benefits of getting more cash. This is just an alternative that has worked for me and my friends. Once you get this down though you will enjoy the income.

So far if I am able to do this method everytime, with a friend I would average $250,000 every two hours. When I play Hangmans NOOSE with a friend I average $200,000 every two hours. This method would get me more money if I could get it workiong everytime, but for some reason it doesnt. Its a nice alternative though.

When you drop off the front of the boat (host) 5 guys run out of the kitchen...Have your buddy on the other building kill them, and then once they are all dead walk that line and go past the stairs on the left, but in front of the box. Do the sniper technique where you aim high, and the middle sniper comes out your friend tells you he is out then slowly zoom out and kill that sniper. When he is dead. Look away by button pressing the RS and then they will spawn as long as you are looking away from that spot. Look away once yeah they all spawn, but as long as you keep looking up there they will not spawn. So for them to always spawn you have to look away. Keep practicing...You will get it.

Shemp Howard you are the true great legend. Thanks to you i was able to do this. But my mate and i had som problems sometime. Sometimes if my mate died upstairs in the glitch 5 guys with ak 47 spawn next to me in the host room for no reason.
0

By Grufalo on 26 Dec 2010 17:53
Usually what this means is he might of stepped in a no safe zone. There are certain sections you can't go. If you step on a bad spot it could spawn a swarm of guys out of the ceiling. So just tell him to stay in that engine room upstairs, and if he dies tell him to run off the boat to the main land. See if he dies upstairs and respawns and tries to get back upstairs by walking the steps then it will trigger all these bad guys. The only way for him to get back to where he needs to be is another helicopter landing on the very top.
0
0
By Shemp Howard on 26 Dec 2010 19:27
Yes but we did every thing with getting back with the helicopter. But it was like some time then he got killed in his position. The enemy spawns in the host room before my freind had respawn.

By Grufalo on 27 Dec 2010 11:10
Just make sure you are following all the steps as far as touching down the copter first for 1-2 seconds then go back down to pick your buddy up. You need to make sure you kill every single guy, and follow all the steps...That is really all I can tell you. You do all the steps so it will clear out the guys in the boat so if they do spawn like that usually it means your buddy nessed something up.

Greatest solution ever! I'm using the improved method of the sniper rifles to really whore this top secret boost out. Once I got the hang of it I can rack up 500K in 2.5 hours, including setup time! My last session ended with me getting 502K in 2 hrs 16 mins and I must have only let 4 or 5 guys out the door. Factoring in time to get the hang of it and learn the method, you're looking at 30 hours or so for the full 5 million. NOOSE can take a hike!

Don't let him fool you guys! The host makes the most money. We are averaging (as the host) over $2,300 a minute. You need to get into cover on the northern wall & look down the hall. Once in cover with your aim correct, click the right stick to make them spawn. I was making $100 a round using this. You need to be looking straight at them for maximum efficiency. No more looking away & you'll never let another guy out the door again. Much faster than waiting for them to come around the corner.

First off I am not trying to fool anyone...Before I posted this only 25 people worldwide knew about this glitch. I brought this glitch to the world and it got me a bunch of hate from those other 24 people. Sure you can button press the RS to look away. If you are good enough you can even kill two guys at a time that spawn in the hallway. The thing about this method is people will do what they want and what they are most comfortable with. On that note...Yes! Your solution does work. Remember fans on cigarnut81's method you need to be in cover. If you come off cover and look away they won't spawn for you.

I wasn't trying to offend Shemp! Just sharing insight. I cleared $197,300 in 94 minutes as host tonight & there is more to be had using the cover, click RS, fire method. But yes, we all have our own way!

Anyways. been boosting this for a week & starting to notice huge issues with three in a session. Every time this week we've had three, someone gets dropped from the game or it freezes. Keep it to two at a time for safety. I lost $200,000 yesterday & tonight Ham Man lost $150,000. Just a note!

Cigarnut is right about the 3-player thing - that's just asking for problems. Had some nasty game freezes myself during 3p... When playing with 2p, the bad guys seem to spawn faster and game stability is much better.

0
By SnelleSjonnie on 20 Mar 2011 22:27

I just ask because of my schedule I am usually on very late late at night about 1am EST until about 6am EST and not sure if there are any regular boosters who would want to play those kind of hours.

Is it possible that the respawn trick is no longer working? I used to do it months ago and intended to show it to a friend but even though I was doing everything as I used to, it doesn't respawn the snipers anymore. Did everything perfect for at least five times but no chance - simply not working.

Can somebody confirm it or does it still work for you people?

Thanks for the in-depth explanation of the zooming part ("now this is crucial!!!" paragraph), great legend. Like I said, I had done it before but somehow couldn't get it to work this time. Propably because I aimed to high with the sniper rifle so both snipers would spawn - stupid me.

Will try it again soon. Thank you very much - it is really appreciated ^ ~ ^.

I'm sorry but... it took you 50+ minutes to demonstrate this method? Sorry but this shoulda been a simple 5 min or less video that was easy to follow, instead of a painful series of videos that are prolonged due to 45 minutes of "commentating" that shouldn't have been there

Excellent guide, even excellent-er commentary, who says achievement hunting has to be boring :)

Big question though, does it still work?? Seems like the kinda of thing that would be easy to patch...

we have did what you did in the video i was host and did what the host was suppose to do right at the beginning when you line the sniper up with the top sniper spot so that the other player tells you the sniper spawns
then after killing the sniper's they don't seem to want to respawn anymore so what could we be doing wrong at that point
we killed all 8 before getting the truck then we go get the two choppers then we kill all of the enemies on the ships deck then get the frist group of people by walking the line up to the steps to spawn them out of the kitchen then we get the right side snipers to spawn by walking the line up to the box after the steps then the snipers don't respawn after i look away

Erickson...You can do this with two systems. The only hard part is would be booting people out. Now if you had both TVs in the same room and all that it is easy. What you will want to do let your guest account host the game. This is the account not going for the achievement. Do the setup with the guest account. Then when you kill all the guys in the SUVs and the armored truck take the truck to the helipad. At this point bring your other guy to the helipad and then drop him off at the other copter...etc...

Just do all the stuff like you would in the video with two controllers. It is a little tough, but you don't have to rely on someone else as much.

Yes...It still works...The part that everyone is having trouble with is the scoping with the sniper part. This part is not that hard, but their is a trick to it.

Thing is you must remember the looking forward bit. As long as you are looking forward at the area where the snipers spawn they will not spawn cause you are looking toward the area. So keep looking at the left two sniper areas and cross the steps to the left. Remember do not cross the box in front of you though. At this standing location this is what will start the sniper spawns. However, since the left balconies are in your field of view no snipers have spawned yet.

You will now take your sniper gun and scope/zoom to the upper left balcony. When you are scoping to that upper area what this is doing is it is taking your view off of the lower left balcony. This is the section right under where you are scoping/zooming. Since your eyes are off of that section that makes the sniper below you spawn. When this sniper spawns your friend needs to let you know that the bottom sniper has come out.

Now this is crucial!!! You do not just move your scope down to kill that sniper that spawned. You want to ZOOM OUT SLOWLY!!! Because you want to keep your eyes/sniper scope on that top balcony section while you slowly zoom out to see the bottom sniper. So this way when you are zoomed all the way back out you can see the sniper that is on the bottom balcony and you will see no sniper on the top balcony. Now with the sniper zoomed out, but still scoped on BOTH BALCONIES kill the bottom sniper yourself. Has to be the you/host that kills him. Now with that sniper dead you are now looking at both balconies with no snipers. At this point you can look away and they will start spawning.

Good luck man! This is the part that messes everyone up. Cause if you get this glitch working to the part where you drop off the upper front side of the boat and five guys run out of the kitchen area you know it will work. It is just most people have trouble with the above paragraphs on actually getting the snipers to spawn.

This solution is designed to compliment Blue Radium’s already excellent solution by backing up some of his ideas (as well as those who commented) with some hard numbers and to share a few tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way.

Do the math...

By now I think everybody has figured out that Hangman’s NOOSE is the only way to go when it comes to knocking out ‘Wanted’ solo, but based on my observations on how others play the game and discussions I’ve had with other players, there seems to be a huge discrepancy on whether or not it is correct to pick up the cash dropped by the dropped cops. So, I thought I’d run the numbers for myself and try to figure out exactly what the optimal strategy is.

To keep it simple I assumed a standard time of 2 minutes and 15 seconds for a basic run. Yes, it is possible to go much faster - an experienced team with reasonable level of skill and a good understanding of the roles can easily go sub 2 minutes on a regular basis (see attached video) - but 2 minutes 15 seconds should be very doable for the average player.

If anyone is interested in the actual numbers, I’ve included them at the bottom of this solution along with some of my notes. It is not necessary to study them to understand this guide. However, it should be noted that unless stated otherwise references to time or hourly rates refer to actual game play time and do not include lobby time, failures, Petro-glitches, disconnects, playing with donkeys etc.

Here’s what I found. The breakeven point for an individual picking up cash is $500 per each additional 15 seconds i.e. it does not negatively affect their hourly rate or the number of hours required to reach level 10. However, it ends up costing the other players $12000 an hour (which would require an additional 4.6 hours of game time to reach level 10). The breakeven point for a three man team (working together in a rotation) is $500 for each additional 5 seconds. However, in the real world things aren’t quite so pretty. In my experience the average pickup is somewhere in the range of $750 with mission times running closer to the 2m 45s mark (I’m being kind here), which actually COSTS the collector about $5500 an hour (2 extra hours of game play) and his team mates closer to a whopping $22000 an hour (over 9 hours of additional game play) the equivalent to running 5 additional missions an hour. The numbers get even worse when you just figure what wasted time costs when no additional cash is collected. Each additional SECOND wasted on average negatively affects your hourly rate by close to $900 (20 extra minutes).

Okay, so all this is probably overkill, but you get the point. Hangman’s NOOSE is a co-op mission, so how your actions affect your team mates, friends or not, should matter. There’s nothing wrong with picking up loose cash, but only if it absolutely costs NO additional time. Bottom line, there’s no faster way to get it done than getting it done efficiently.

Petro-bitch...

Petrovic’s AI can be infuriating, but until Rockstar fixes him [cough], it’s just another part of the game. Knowing how to deal with and avoid ‘Petro-glitches’ however, can go a long way to improving your hourly rate and avoid any unnecessary frustration. Here’s a list of grievances along with some simple ‘how-to’s:

• Petrovic gets stuck behind fuselage - The most common of all the glitches and seems to be connected to the angle of approach by the chopper, as it never seems to happen when you land between the two planes approaching from the North West (not recommended, as it is way slower). Communication is the key here. The pilot, who has the best view of the action, should direct the players on the ground. One of the shooters (in a heads-up scenario this would be the pilot) should SLOWLY push Petrovic out past the nose of the plane - if you move too quickly you run the risk of ‘sliding’ off him or worse, knocking him down - while the other takes point between the cops and Petrovic, protecting him and the other player. Once Petrovic is out the ‘pusher’ should run ahead and protect his path back to the chopper. It is possible to free him up by moving the chopper off the spot to the East and back again, which will sometimes pop him out, but it’s not an exact science and the chopper tends to get beaten up doing it this way. It’s worth mentioning though as this method can be useful when playing with randoms oblivious as to what to do.
• ...dies instantly after losing a life - As mentioned in Blue Radium’s solution, is linked to the AI. Sometimes when all the players around Petrovic die the AI sees him as unprotected and ends the game. This is especially prevalent during heads-up as there is only one player in his general vicinity. The best strategy is simply not to die :) Situate yourself on or near the wing of Petrovic's plane with health pack on it. If you get low on energy, just grab the health pack.
• ...won’t come out of the plane (door open) - Run up the steps and into the plane and push him out. Once he’s on the tarmac, he’ll usually figure out what to do.
• ...won’t come out of plane (door closed) - You haven't killed enough cops. Fifteen is magic number (sometimes higher heads-up), keep shooting!
• ...stands in front of the plane (door closed) - Occasionally he'll pop out of the plane before you've killed the required number of cops. He should respond like normal once you get to fifteen and chopper is on the spot.
• ...stands in front of the plane (door open) - Make sure the pilot has landed on the spot indicated by the yellow marker behind the two planes. It’s very easy to slide off the mark when landing quickly. When you are in the correct place the marker will disappear.
• ...flees the scene - It’s very rare, but it does happen. Doesn't matter what you do he runs... somewhere, and won’t get into any vehicle you put in front of him. Your best bet is to cut your losses and start over. Even if you do manage to protect him, you’ll eventually get the 'Petrovic is dead' message and the mission will fail.
• …isn’t on the plane - This has happened to me twice and only during heads-up. The door opens and he’s nowhere to be found. Cut your losses and start over.

Know your role...

Already covered by Blue Radium, but here’s my take on the jobs and the skill set required.

• Pilot (spawns closest to the tug) - By far the most important position on the team. Should know the quickest route to the chopper. Be able rail-stop the tug (breaking wastes time). Able to land chopper on the spot by at least the 1m 30s mark with the passenger door facing Petrovic. Preferably have a mic to give direction to the team when Petrovic glitches and know what to do. Able to hit the rendezvous spot at full speed. Additionally: Competent at rotating the chopper on the ground (tap the throttle, use the bumpers for rudder control) and using the guns to protect Petrovic. Able to lift the tail of the chopper (tap the throttle, press forward. This saves the shooters from having to run around the chopper completely to get to the other side and board).
• Shooter (two furthest spawns from the tug) - Should be proficient at head shots. Aware of the radar. Ready to board the chopper at the 1m 15s mark. Know what to do when Petrovic glitches. Additionally: Familiar with health pack locations. Know how to pick up weapons (the carbines dropped by the NOOSE are much more powerful).
• Fourth Man (second closest spawn to the tug) - The simplest of all the positions. Should be able sit in the tug. Understand how to force a chopper spawn (if the second chopper is not there, DO NOT get in the first chopper. Use the right thumb stick to move the helipad in and completely out of your field of vision until it appears. If you really can’t get it to spawn - which does happen sometimes - take one for the team and leave the game. It’s quicker to start a new game than to have someone come back and get you). Able to land the second chopper at the rendezvous in under 2 minutes. Able to sit still (being on the spot and stationary enables the other pilot to slam the landing. If possible stay in the chopper, this avoids the other pilot losing $100 if he inadvertently kills you in the process).

Here’s a basic timeline of events. Again, there’s nothing Earth shattering here. Just a good solid no-nonsense run:

0m 08s - Pilot is in the tug and moving
0m 55s - Tug slams into the helipad rail
1m 00s - Chopper is in the air (shooting the two cops is not necessary)
1m 15s - Shooters have their 15 kills (trickier heads-up) and are ready to board the chopper
1m 30s - Chopper is on the ground, Petrovic and the other players are boarding
1m 45s - Everybody is aboard and the chopper is in the air
2m 15s - Chopper crash lands into the rendezvous spot
2m 20s - Thirsts are quenched and the bloodshed is all but forgotten…

If you’re looking to go faster, most of the fat can be found between acquiring the chopper and landing it on the spot behind the two planes. The pilot’s ability is the pivotal factor here and being able to go sub two minutes depends on it. There are also some seconds to be had pre-triggering Petrovic’s exit from the plane BEFORE the chopper lands. Just run a vehicle over the pickup spot behind the two planes and the door should open. Be warned though, if you are playing with randoms, it might be misinterpreted as a rookie mistake. See Benzy2187’s attached video below for an excellent example of a fast run and great demonstration of many of the fundamentals detailed above.

Strength in numbers...

The number of players in any given game dictates the strategy, so be aware of the number of players in your game and act accordingly.

• Heads-up - The shooter’s position is pivotal here. Being able to get fifteen kills (sometimes more, not sure why) before the chopper lands without losing a life takes some skill. Situate yourself on or near the wing with health pack on it. Take out the cops approaching from the East, keeping an eye on the radar for any who sneak up from the West (behind the nose of the plane). If you get low on energy, just grab the health pack. Do NOT go for the cash. Because of the way the AI works the chance of Petrovic dying is just too high. Once you get enough kills head to the back of the plane for the pickup. I wouldn’t recommend trying this with a random, better to wait for a third player and play it safe. Unsuccessful attempts are just like additional seconds and kill your hourly rate.
• Trips - The perfect ratio of butts to seats. One pilot, two shooters, business as usual.
• Quads - A LOT can go wrong with quads if the players don't know what to do i.e. only one person gets the chopper or they both try to pick up Petrovic or somebody leaves after two people have already left for the chopper etc. If at all possible try to get the match started before a fourth can join. If not your best bet is to try to figure what’s going on early and fill in the gaps. If you’re the only one who goes for the tug call for help (honk if you don’t have a mic) and don’t leave until someone joins you. If there are two of you, figure out who’s taking care of the pickup before you get to the choppers (usually the driver of the tug). Quad games also tend to run a few seconds slower too, just because it takes a little longer to get the second guy in the tug.

Leftovers…

Most of this stuff is obvious, but in the interests of keeping this guide complete I should at least touch on the following:

Know the menus - Being able to set up a match quickly, or jump from a failed attempt can save valuable seconds and avoid randoms from getting in your matches. Hitting ‘Back, A, A’ in a lobby is a quick and easy way to jump into a new game without having to return to the single player campaign. If you find you keep being put back in the same lobby wait until everybody but you checks up and then jump. This will launch their game and set you up with a new lobby.

Make friends - You’re going to be spending a hundred or so hours chasing this one, so you’re bound see some familiar faces along the way. It doesn’t take long to figure out the players from the donkeys. If you have people you play with on a regular basis who know what they are doing, prefer them (X > Select Gamer Tag > Submit Player Review > Prefer this Player) and/or friend request them. It increases the likelihood you will be matched with experienced players and makes party building easier. The opposite of this is true for the team killers out there...

Travel in packs - It’s far easier and whole lot quicker to get this done with people who know what they are doing. Start a private party and communicate with each other about the status of your game/lobby. Use your majority to engineer games with a high probability of success. Preferring each other increases the likelihood of being matched together. Another trick is to have everyone adjust their ‘Friendly Fire’ setting in the phone’s preferences to ‘Off’. This limits the number of game types the server has to choose from (by default its set to ‘Don’t Care’) when matchmaking. ‘Off’ seems to be the least populated game type. It also makes it harder for the team killers to interfere with your games. Just remember to switch it back when playing solo.

Experience matters - Try to find games with players of at least level 7. Sounds elitist, but there are people out there who don’t care about how long it takes, how much money they make or getting the achievement [Playing for fun? :)] If someone is a level 7 chances are they’re in for long haul and might actually know what they are doing.

Thank you for taking the time to read my guide, hopefully it can be of help to you. Please comment before voting negatively and at least give me chance to make adjustments. My goal is to make this solution as complete as possible :)

NOTES:

*Hourly rates/times are calculated on actual game time and do not include lobby time, failures, Petro-glitches, disconnects, playing with donkeys etc. My experience was closer to $40k to $50k an hour (real time). So you are probably looking at closer to 100-110 hours of actual face time, which goes a long way to explaining why I wrote this solution :)

**Random team mate who does not pick up anything.

***Team statistics assume you are all working together rotating positions.

The above strategy is good, but not the best one :)

*THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU HAVE GT4 IN THE DISC, AND BALLAD OF GAY TONY AS A DLC*

you also need a partner (preferably 2) to do this..

load up gta4. click start, go into GAME, and load up ballad of gay tony save data..
while in TBOGT open your cellphone, go to multiplayer ranked team deathmatch , when your in the game lobby, leave, then load back GTA4 (original).. This basically removes the 5 second god mode :)

now when both ( or all 3 people) have done this. go into teamdeathmatch or deathmatch in normal GTA4(original) , put the map to 'Hapiness Island' respawn NEAR, 1second respawn delay. and now simply go to the NORTH docks, theres docks in the top of the map, and bottom in hapiness island, go to the top one..

now one person spawn kills the other people.. and then viceversa..

i get 200,000 dollars in 1 hour of boosting.. so that means you need exactly 25 HOURS of boosting to get to level 10,

Make sure your settings are exactly as follows:
auto aim: allow
police: allow
friendly fire: allow
Location: Happiness Island
Duration: 60minutes
Weapons: (3 people including urself boosting put Assault Riffle) (2 people including yourself put snipers)
traffic:parked
pedestrians:off
blips:all
gamertag display: on
reticle health: on
voice chat"on
respawn distance(IMPORTANT): NEAR
respawn time(IMPORTANT): 1second
time of day: random
weather: random

:) happy boosting <3

I double boxed this with a dummy account. I used the best advice from all of the above solutions and compiled a very efficient way to get this done.

I received 850.000$ per hour for a TOTAL BOOST TIME of 10h.
Set your ranked Bomb the Base game to easy, so you get 5 lives. Each life with full ammo should get you around 170.000$.

So let's begin:
Use the following Video for Setting the Glitch. It is very well narrated. Use this video until 7:15min. [Do not follow the video past the 7:15 mark] After that, read on below...
Keep in mind, I used my dummy account for the very first part where you take over the transporter. This preserved ammo on my main account and prevented a potential unnecessary loss of a life, which would ultimately cost you 170K$ each boosting run because you'd lose 1 out of your 5 lives.

(During the part where your dummy account briefly touches down on the top of the captain's bridge, I moved my main account out of the kitchen and around the outside of this structure, so that I'd have enough time to fly my dummy to safety and switch controllers back to my main account, without getting killed by the 6 enemies that just spawned in the kitchen.)

Next, you keep your main character inside that kitchen area where the video ended (@7:15) and use your dummy account to go find a bike. Off-road and racing bikes are by far best for getting up those stairs. The Harley works, but it is very difficult to maneuver up the stairs since it has less torque and is longer than the other bikes.
This is the most frustrating part of this mission, as it can take quite a while until a bike spawns. Took me an average of 10min to find one. Usually they show up when you go fast I noticed.
Bring the bike to your main account in the kitchen. From this point on you won't need your second account anymore for the rest of this mission. Just keep him in the corner somewhere.
Use the bike to get up the stairs. DO NOT touch the stairs while walking. It will stop the snipers from spawning. (Most people say you cannot touch the entire stair well including the little upstairs room, but that is not true. Only the stairs themselves are off limits to you. I have fallen off the bike many times up in that little room and the glitch still worked)

Once up there follow this video for getting points (from 0:00 to 1:25min). Best if you have a turbo controller or a CronusMax so you can hold down on RT and RS, without having to repeatedly press RT.
Basically what happens now is, after you have positioned yourself correctly and are aiming at the correct spot as shown in the video, you will hold down RS to look back and keep it held down the entire time. Pressing RT will make you look forward and shoot 1 bullet. Releasing RT will make you look back again, since you're still holding RS. If you turbo your right trigger, this allows you to hold both buttons until your clip runs empty.

When you run out of ammo, make your way down the stair using the bike and follow this last video starting @19:00min to 20:00min. [Remember, your dummy account was always downstairs, so, unlike in the video, you only drive yourself down the stairs. As mentioned in the beginning of this solution, your dummy will not be needed past the initial set-up of this glitch]

I got this achievement after only playing Bomb the Base 7-8 times. Took me a total of 10h.

*************************This guide goes in conjunction with BOTH guides posted above, so I will not reiterate those solutions, go read them since proper credit goes to those players (Blue Radium, and Shemp Howard).******************************

Alright after testing out both of the popular solutions, I believe they're about equivalent in speed to getting the achievement.

I'm talking about Blue Radium's solution above, Solution for Wanted In Grand Theft Auto IV, and Shemp Howard's solution above, Solution for Wanted In Grand Theft Auto IV.

Hangman's Noose: If you can go from scoreboard to scoreboard (which is when the game puts the $4500 onto your account) in 3 minutes, which includes load times, the time to beat the mission, the time to ready up in the ready room, you can make $90k in one hour. If you can do it faster, it significantly increases. What will take you the longest is lobby waiting, unless you just continually join random games or there's no one else playing online other than your group. I can complete the mission in 1:45 - 2:15, so with load times and lobby times it should take me about 2:30 - 2:45 for every $4500, which leaves me with more than $90k/hour.

With Shemp Howard's "The Secret Boost" method, there are greater variables to factor in and more risk, but you don't have to worry about lobby times. In a bad game, I can pull off about $80k/hour using this method. Note, this is in a BAD GAME, which means a game in which you mess up the setup, maybe once, or even twice. Setup can take up to 20 minutes depending how on point you and your partner are. With practice, you can make more than $100k in an hour of playtime. I took the liberty of concluding the average dollar amount is probably $90k/hour if you factor in possible errors and problems.

"The Secret Boost" has a lot more risk, but you don't have to wait for lobbies, which may be more appealing to players.

For players that don't want to deal with remembering and mastering the setup, and worrying about the risks (dying too many times by accident, for example), there's Hangman's NOOSE, which is just as good when it's consistent and smooth.

There is no wrong solution or faster one, because they each depend on variables that are out of your control (for now). When people stop playing GTA4 all together, Hangman's NOOSE will be much faster and easier to boost.

The choice is yours, and as for me, I've done $2.5M on NOOSE, and will most likely finish the last $2.5M using Shemp's solution.

Whichever method you choose, expect to spend more than 50 hours working on this achievement.

*******EDIT 12-02-10******* Final notes - Doing half of the achievement on Hangman's NOOSE and half on Bomb the Base 2, I'd have to say that I'm happy with the way I did it. Some notes about the Secret boost method: If you are doing with 3 total players, if player 3 chooses to kill the 2nd sniper upstairs, he will spawn signficantly less than the rest and thus player 3 will have significantly less kills. Also, the 2nd player never needs to get ammo if he establishes a rhythm of killing the rapidly spawning sniper (see the video, part 5) from just behind him using the sniper rifle, as the dead sniper's rifles will continually drop at 2nd player's feet, ensuring infinite ammo. In this case, 2nd player would get more money than the host, significantly more money since the host has to worry about ammo. FINALLY, the host can establish a rhythm of killing both downstairs snipers in the hallway instead of just one, thus netting twice as much money as previously possible, greatly reducing the host's time getting to Wanted (This is how I did my last million, after a lot of practice, I was netting 98k in the first hour, and 150+k every subsequent hour). HOWEVER, if boosting with 3 players, the 3rd player MAY choose to kill the 2nd sniper downstairs since he spawns faster, and then player 3 and the host will have similar amounts of money and player 2 will have the most money. Consider these things when boosting this method. ********END EDIT********

******EDIT******* Story input by Shemp Howard from his comment to this solution. "Okay so here we were The Great Legend Shemp Howard, Scarey Turtle, and The Teckie...Teckie BTW is one of the most loved people I have ever met on Xbox Live...Anyways so we are playing the Top Secret Boost. Teckie forgets to get out of Scarey's helicopter with me...See me and Teckie need to get our own helicopter because Scarey is the host. Anyways we go to the first area, but there is no copter there. So Turtle takes us over to the Deal Breaker Helicopter. I get out and start the copter, and Teckie stayed in Scarey's Heli...We are like WTF! TECKIE you were suppose to get out with me Shemp. So Turtle flies over above this swimming pool close to my helicopter...Turtle's copter is about 50 ft in the air, and we are like jump out Teckie you will land in the swimming pool...LOL!!! Teckie jumps out and hits the pavement like a foot away from the swimming pool! LOL! Life lost for the Teckie...We couldn't stop laughing because that stuff only happens to The Teckie. BTW...That Top Secret Boost session was an epic fail cause we kept losing lives to bad luck Teckie moments. Sorry Teckie...We still love you man!" *******EDIT******

These are the three best ways to make points quickly in GTA IV
1) The far pier on happiness island has only two very isolated respawn points. Players in death match will continuously respawn there leading to very high scores. If you combine this with a glitch to remove respawn shields you can make $200,000+ per hour. This is the absolute fastest money in GTA IV
2) The Sniper respawn glitch. This method has already been outlined a couple times here, but I have tried to present the glitch here more clearly and highlighted two ways that you can kill the snipers and get infinite ammo. You realistically will get $140,000 per hour with this method when you include the amount of time it takes to set this glitch up, BUT both players get the money and there is no real time pressure.
3) Hangman's NOOSE is the most casual way to make fast money in GTA IV. After keeping careful track I woud say that the REAL amount you make in an hour is $80,000 because of the lobby times and waiting. This tutorial shows how you can pick up ~$750 as a shooter in two-player games and how to fly the helicopter for games under two minutes. Which can get you 15% more cash in the hour.

Before i start i want to thank Shemp Howard for giving us a great alternative for Hangman`s Noose and providing us with a great tutorial how to start the "top secret boost" !!

Also i want to thank my boostingpartner UKINSPRO for the great sessions and some useful improvements on the alternative strategy`s to maxime the easy of use.

My solution isnt a new one, but i just want to give an alternative for Shemp`s setup for both players (host and the real money winner). When i was playing the strategy i had some trouble going for headshots and getting new ammo so the moneymaking was the same as hangman`s noose but with my alternative you can rack up money easier and a lot more.

The basic setup is totally the same as Shemp`s tought us to do, the difference comes at the part where both players take place to rack up that precious money.

I`ll start with the real money maker:
Just like Shemp and his buddy shows us stay inside the cabin where you`ve placed the bomb. Let the host stop them from spawning for a while to set youreself up. Instead of aiming outside like in the video`s walk a bit back until youre parallel to the steeringwheel and looking at the other door (the one you came in after crashing the helicopter). Also stand on or near the line on the ground and take out your sniperrifle.
Aim at the bottom right corner of the door and ask the host to start the spawning. Now just shoot the falling snipers in the upperbody with the sniperrifle where ever you like. If youre setup right they will drop their sniperammo right at you (inf. ammo!). Just hold down the lefttrigger to aim and then you only have to shoot the snipers falling every second or 1 1/2 second. When you miss a sniper and cant take him out while running outside just walk away so you can aim through the window and take him out then take out the snipers falling down again from a distance and make youre way back after each kill (step by step) untill youre back in place. Its a bit boring after a while but its easier to kill more enemies in the same time and you dont have to worry about ammo. This will also give you the ability to keep going for as long as you wish for! PS when youre having problems getting back in position after shooting the sniper through the window when one gets by simply run in to the spawning snipers to get some time to setup again.
* I`ve included a video to see me playing as the other player racking up money fast. I didnt filmed the setup basicly because there are more then 1 place to set yourself up. Only things that matter are:
- The spot lets you shoot them without aiming every shot
- The spot lets you get the ammo falling from the dead snipers.

And of course the part of the host:
Stand in the same place as Shemp tought us but instead of looking left to spawn and aim at the front to kill them, just turn around so youre facing backwards.
Aim your crosshair at the top of the left tree you see way back on the island. The snipers dont stop spawning and will be running to this spot almost everytime. Just wait for them to setup and pop them in the head (1 shot 1 kill = maximazing the points youll get). Be aware that sometimes they move a bit left or right when they run outside so be on your guard! When youre out of ammo simply jump off the boat after youve shot the sniper and use Shemp`s method to get back in place with new ammo. When youre on your last life ask your partner if he wants to continue or start a new game and swap places. If he want to continue simply jump off the boat when youre out of ammo, swim away a bit and leave your partner for some snipingfun for a while.
* I`ve included a video to see me playing as the host and getting all headshots. i didnt filmed the setup but i think everybody knows where to stand, specially when you watch the video.

Results
- Host : approx. $ 40.000 / hour -> $ 150.000 / match
- Other player : approx. $ 200.000+ / hour -> $ 500.000 / match
A match = 3 hours of gaming including setup.
My best setup did $ 630.000 in 1 single match as it shows on the last video.

I`ll hope you all enjoy the wanted achievement and that my contribution to the community here will help you on your quest getting it!

This is an addendum to the great solution by Shemp Howard. Thanks to Spartan MRC178 for helping to perfect this method.

If you happen to have an extra xbox with an extra copy of gta then that xbox can be used as the dummy host while you and your boosting partner can both make money while on top of the bridge each making >100k/hr.

Here is how to set it up:
Everything up to picking up the helicopter in the "boost tunnel" remains the same in Shemp Howard's video. I was juggling between the host and non-host characters so I kept the non-host character idling in the back of my boosting partner's helicopter until both of us are ready to drop down onto the bridge.
Host picks up the helicopter from the boost tunnel and drop down onto the front of the boat. Expect more enemies on the boat both upon landing and when you drop down to trigger the swarm coming out from the kitchen. Before you trigger the infinite respawn you should have made $2900 total. Activate the glitch and you the host can then clear out the kitchen area (again expect more enemies than two player game). Once done the host then return to mid-deck and the boosting partner (along with my non-host character) can do the initial touch down and the host can then dispatch the remaining enemies coming out from the kitchen. Finally, while the host faces the bridge while on mid-deck the two non-hosts can drop down into the bridge and get set up (clear remaining bridge enemies, arm first bomb).

Once the bridge is secured the host can activate the respawn by turning around facing the camera to the front of the boat (preferably move him to the front of the boat as well as they can avoid getting picked off by any snipers) and both the non-hosts can choose a side to kill the respawning snipers dropping down to each end of the bridge. When needing ammo refill or take a break the host can then switch camera to face bridge again to deactivate respawn.

Notes/Caveats:
-We used the sniper rifle instead of the SMG/assault rifle as you can get infinite ammo and never have to leave the boat. This may require some correct positioning so that you can pick up the ammo automatically as enemies are downed.
-Sometimes the glitch goes funny in that they respawn weird over time. This may be because there are too many dead bodies and the system just messes up. In this case best to just end the game by arming second bomb and start over. Happened about 2 out of the ten times we did it.

First of all, pardon my English. I'm Brazilian and I have to use Translator as support, but anyway, let's get down to business!

This method can be considered the most profitable compared to others, however, it requires a little more effort compared to others, I did with a friend (he also secured the achievement with me)
It is done in the mission "Bomb da Base II" and only the Host that must make all the glitch while Player 2 should be of support. (Yes, only 2 players must attend the party)
If everything goes well, the host should have $ 850,000 per game and in less than 1h30min

Before the Mission begins, the following requirements:
Mission Difficulty: Easy
Traffic: Parked
Pedestrians: Off
Online ID Display: Off
Reticule Health: On
Time Of Day: Midday
Weather: Clear

At the beginning of the mission, the Host must pick up his car and go straight to the heliport (at the meeting place for delivery of the Petrovic helicopter) while Player 2 has the objective of capturing the armored car (it can be difficult sometimes The other two cars that cover, but with as much experience as possible, after the capture of the armored car, you follow the instruction of the mission to take to the heliport (if your life is fading, there are two suitcases of The helicopter meeting place).
After the encounter, the Host must take the Helicopter and go to the Ship, but instead of landing on the spot, he must land a little further on the left in a shed (on the roof there are forms of glass triangles) while Player 2 using The armored car should go to Leftwood (island on the left side of the map, above the first bridge), as you exit the helipad, turn left onto the road and follow a ramp leading the bridge, up the ramp, turn left again And after passing it, turn right and left again, turn on the second street on the right and go ahead until you have a motorcycle shop at the front (if you find a motorcycle before arriving at the store, if it is a NGR 900, Otherwise, go to the store). When taking the motorcycle, go back to where you came from, and instead of turning in the heliport, turn left into the street after the heliport, the road will take you to Algonquin Bridge, after crossing the bridge go down the ramp on the left side ( Yes, in the opposite direction of the lane) and turn the first street on the left again, take the hill to the right and follow to the mission site on the ship (but without going to it, wait for the Host to do its part)
On the roof of the shed, the Host must position himself in view of the whole left side of the ship, using his Sniper to kill 6 enemies from the point to the kitchen (the first will stay moving, but the other 5 will be inert). There is a seventh enemy that will appear where you killed the first, do the same as the others. When killing the 7 enemies, take your Helicopter again and land on the end of the Ship carefully (in this case, in front of him), go to the right side and there will be an enemy between boxes, kill him with the Sniper and return to the Left, descend and stand before the ladder that leads from the ground to the ship, once again with your Sniper look ahead and will come 5 enemies coming from the kitchen, kill everyone (being where you are)!
After killing them, start the Glitch part (remembering that everything you've done so far is super essential for the scheme to work), walk a little forward and using your Sniper slowly zoom in to the place where a Sniper Enemy will appear, if he does not appear, slowly move the target up the bridge and slowly descend to the same location, if he does not appear, move your character a little further and repeat the zoom process if the enemy does not continue To appear, go repeating the method. Usually it appears if you move your character after the ladder that takes the ship to the ground. As soon as it appears, kill it and press the RS, hold for 3s, drop and look again at the Sniper location, if it appears your Glitch is functional (otherwise start a new game), the Sniper will appear every time That you kill and press RS.
Player 2, with his bike, must go to the ship to meet the Host (a warning to everyone as soon as they get the bike, DO NOT LEAVE IT, as it will be an essential element for all this to work), when meeting with the Host , Player 2 must exit the bike, leaving the Host mounted on it, and kill all the enemies he sees in front (mainly on the right side of the same Sniper's location), go to the kitchen and kill certain 5 enemies, Host must pilot the bike to the kitchen and enter it (yes, using the bike and without leaving it for nothing in the world).
From there the Player 2 can stand by the quiet kitchen, but without climbing the stairs leading to the rooms and neither go down the stairs that leads to the bomb, just stay there while the Host does the work, on the other hand the Host, using the Your bike should climb the stairs leading to the rooms, be warned that if you fall off the bike during the procedure, you must start a new game because it will not work anymore! When climbing the stairs go to the end of the hall (mounted on the bike), exit and kill the enemies (one will be on the left side and another on the right, so be careful), climb on the bike again and place in the middle of the end of the aisle If there is some disagreement in the middle of the method, if you cover the right side of the corridor, aim for the lamp (slightly to the right next to it), press START change the control from STANDARD to CLASSIC, while In cover (cover button in the Classic is the RT), press RS and repeatedly press the B with each shot, in each shot, an enemy will give respawn, that is, with each shot, 1 kill, each kill, $ 100, And continue until your ammunition is over (warning you to do so, use UZI and ASSAULT only) and warning you to leave 3 bullets from each weapon, otherwise you will not be born with them in the next life! First life, you should make around $ 175,000, when you finish, go back to Standard mode in your control, take your bike and go down the stairs until the Player 2 encounter (which should be near the kitchen door leading out ), Player 2 must ride on the bike while the Host goes to the corner on the other side of the kitchen, spend the remaining ammunition of the uzi and assault firing on the wall and after done, grab your grenade and hold RT to commit suicide , You will be reborn with Uzi and Assault with complete ammunition, regardless of your respawn, you must go to Player 2 to get the bike and then repeat the process of climbing the stairs, always remembering to kill the 2 enemies in each Side, position the bike in the middle of the aisle and changing the control from standard to classic and above all. ALWAYS USE THE MOTORCYCLE TO DESCEND AND UP THE STAIRS, in the event of an error, it will necessarily be a new game (remembering that you have 5 lives , In which case enjoy them to do the whole procedure), after all, you can choose to complete the mission or simply fail that even then you will receive all the money you have raised!

Have fun

Hello everyone, i just wanted to add some information. Since early 2022 the boards are glitched which means that every game that is longer than exactly 5:50 WONT upload you earned dollars and played game into the boards. You will still see that earned dollars in the lobby but as soon as you turn off your xbox the dollars will disappear. This includes even the gamemodes WITHOUT a timer, Cops n Crooks, Turf war, Race etc. The only way to make them save your progress and earned $ is if everyone else leaves before the game has been 5:50 long. Or if you finish it off before 5:50 has passed. But still, every game longer than 5:50 still counts for the auf wiedersehen Petrovic achievement. This is the reason why some of your games might not be visible on the Leaderboards. As an oldschool IV player i just wanted to share these informations. I have no clue why it cuts off at exactly 5:50. It used to be at exactly 60 mins back in the days.

So from here on youve got 3 options.

-Either youve got someone that you can grind Hangmans NOOSE with and do it the old school way (as this mission is easy doable within 2 minutes).

Or you do the BDB Sniperglitch but you have to keep your xbox on until youve hit rank 10 and arent able to quit the game.

Or your second xbox or friend is loading up TBoGT (only downloaded version) goes into the Multiplayer lobby and loads back to the regular GTA IV. This causes that the game thinks your still in TBoGT which means it takes away your respawn protection (usually 5 secs) since TBoGT doesnt have respawn protection. Then your second xbox or friend loads up Deathmach and you do following settings: Happiness Island, close respawn distance and 1 sec respawn and 1 hour duration and assault rifles. Then theres at the dockyard a spot where you can kill the dummy account over and over 1 hour. Likely you can get 200k in 1 hour. But same as BDB you need 2 keep your xbox on until your done.

Hangman’s noose method

Here are a bunch of tips if you are wanting to do this achievement the legit way

This will take 70-80 hours depending on your skill level

- Find the quickest route with the “bag carrier” and the chopper,
The quicker you can complete the mission the more hours you shave off. Averaging around 3mins per mission will get you 125-135k per 2 hour session, 2:30 will get 140-150k, and bringing it down to sub 2:10 160-170k, these numbers are pending how many fails you get

- Fastest/easiest with 3 players, 1 flyer, 2 shooters.
With 2 players the cops will have shotguns and if the “shooter” dies, petrovic will probably die too, failing the mission

- You only need 15 kills until petrovic will come out

- Swat vans will give you armour

- Driving over health packs will heal you and the vehicle, so save the health pack on the wing of petrovic’s plane, as you can land on it if the helicopter gets to damaged

- If petrovic gets stuck behind the plane, either grenade him, or hover the chopper directly above the “pickup” marker until the game recognises youre outside the pickup zone, after about 15 seconds he usually respawns

- You can let petrovic out of the plane before the pickup chopper arrives, by driving the swat van to the pickup marker, this will prevent petrovic from getting stuck, BUT it is best not to let him get into the van… I’ve explained below

- If you let petrovic out of the plane using the swat van, the second petrovic touches the door of the van to get in with you, he will follow you around, and the chopper will no longer need to land on the pickup marker.
keep in mind that the game will recognise you have collected petrovic and you have about 20-30 seconds until the cop cars will start ramming your chopper

- Let petrovic in the chopper first, getting in before him will cause him to stop for a second, increasing his chances of getting shot and falling over

- If Petrovic is “following” a player, getting in the chopper before him will no longer cause him to stop

- Petrovic is faster at getting into the hanger then the front seat (can help save him from getting shot)

- Having your team Shoot the front Tyers of the bag carrier will increase its speed and sacrifice handling (This tip will only shave 2 seconds, more for speed running)

Any other tips, feel free to leave a comment and I may or may not update it… probs won’t :D

You need to get star level 10 , and for this you need to accumulate $ 5,000,000 .

9 star = $2, 500, 000 and accumulate the same amount until 10 star.

One quick way to accumulate is to play " Hangman's NOOSE " mode.

The game lasts approximately 2-3 minutes and you will receive approximately $4500 for each game.

When boosting in the "Hangman's NOOSE" mode, you need to catch a friend (friends (if you boost 3 comrades at the same time)) in the lobby every 2-3 minutes, and since you only need to play Ranked, this is not always possible. Plus, most likely, not all attempts to get Petrovich from the airport to the field will go well.

There is an alternative way to quickly top up your account with up to 5 lams of green:

And the method is to glitch (infinite respawn of snipers) in the " Bomb da Base II " mode

Link to boost 2 friends

PS I personally verified that this glitch also works if three people play at the same time.

The only small downside is that it’s more difficult for the host, because he has to turn the camera either to the side or back.
