How to unlock the Chatty chatty mouth achievement in Gray Matter - Definitive Guide

For this one you have to click on every object and talk to anybody, anytime possible. Sometimes some objects could used two times or later with David again. Eventually you will get this on chapter six (day 6) after completing the tasks "Investigating to Lamb's Club, Pt. 2" and "The Ghost of Dread Hill House". I got it with 47% of level progress.

I hope this guide will help you :)

hmm sry but I don't know if you can skip them if they count twice, but I didn't think so! If you have problems with there are also guides out there in the web, but I don't know which one I used for it :S

For anyone who may still be wondering this...rather than pointlessly make a new solution, I thought it was more appropriate to add a comment on this one that you can skip the dialogs. I skipped through most of them and it popped, ironically enough, at the END of chapter 6 when Sam meets Malik, Angela and Charles on the grass at St. Edmunds Hall.

I completed the game under 5 hours and made a game save at the start ofChapter 7. I only clicked what was necessary in the 5 hour play through so didn't make this achievement first time round.

I then replayed from chapter 7 clicking on everything possible and selecting my inventory. I unlocked the achievement about half way through Chapter 8.

This avoids doing 2 full walkthroughs (or at least 1-6 as the above solution states). If wary just make the game save at Chapter 6.

I just skipped but you need to click on most of the irrelevant things is paintings, vases. As soon as the character comments it'll note in their diary. Also look in your inventory and comment on your items too, easy logs.

IF you check the diary of you character after they have spoken it'll show whether it has counted towards the dialog.

Has to be different items though sometimes items in your inventory can be selected multiple times at different times throughout the game.

Hey man, I've got a 'perfect' run (i.e. nothing additional) save halfway through chapter 6. Can I still get the 1000 dialogs achievement if I go and visit every area and click everything? Please respond through an on-site message direct to me, as I don't get an alert when someone responds in a solution. Thanks.

A great piece of advice! I made a save at the end of chapter 6, and reloaded from there. Hit 1000 dialogues early in chapter 8. +1 from me.

*Missable*. In Gray Matter, a “dialog” is any text said by a character that gets noted down in either Sam’s notebook or Dr. Styles’ diary. So this can come from conversations with characters, or either playable character’s thoughts on items etc when examined. There, examine everything and anything possible in the game. Pressing select will display “hotpoints” i.e. objects that can be interacted with, examined, or locations to other places. Many objects will produce more than 1 dialogue either after immediately viewing or after something happens in relation to it or the story. Examine characters after talking to them, objects after use, objects in your inventory after collecting them, and look at everything when you’ve “zoomed in” on them.

It will take a while to get over 1000 dialogues, therefore it’s not a good idea to go for this achievement and Fast Play in the same playthrough. The time when the achievement will pop will differ depending on how much you examine etc. For me it popped during Chapter 6 as I was completing the second half of C Railer Swool, so by following the walkthrough posted above and this advice, you’ll get it either here or later in Chapter 7. Then feel good about not having to spend so much time looking at everything in the game, unless you like listening to Sam’s voice I guess.

By "listening to dialogue" we mean more than just speaking while communicating with characters.
Everything is taken into account, every click on an interactive object/device/character.

If you actively explore the environment, you will receive the Chapter 6 trophy.
