How to unlock the Ryo's Record 10 achievement in Need For Speed ProStreet - Definitive Guide

If you have trouble to hold a fully tuned car on the road (like I did), make a Toyota Supra with all level 2 upgrades. It will be more stable on the road and your time doesn't to be under 2:10 then. You'll break the record with the Toyota Supra when your time is around -50 of the target time.

Edit 24 January 2014: Be sure to set your difficulty to "Casual". Credit to SixSticks

This is the best method.

Buy a Toyota Supra from the garage. Costs about 26,000.

Equip it fully with level 2 parts, best body kit and spoiler and you're off.

Thanks for this! Worked like a charm, first time.

I only wish I'd read this before playing through the campaign to dominate all race days....... All the Nevada ones took me ages, especially these tracks!

Great solution! I tried a number of times w/ my Zonda maxed out and totalled it everytime! Your solution is much better!! I struggled winning w/ level 2 upgrades but finally got it after buying level 3 nitro. Thanks!

I'm not usually one to write many solutions, but I used something that was FAR easier than the Supra solution: use the Porsche 911 Turbo. This thing is GOLD. Put the max level 3 upgrades on it, along with the best body kit, and you'll notice the time to beat is still around 3:09, if I remember correctly. The 911 is agile, quick, and it's doable keeping the level at casual for most of the race. I did turn the assist level to KING around 85%. I tried the Supra around 25 times, then tried the 911. Took ONE TRY.

Around 47 seconds under the time, and I did not run anywhere NEAR a clean race, so there's plenty of wiggle room for mistakes. Please try this, it helped me so damn much!

Hope you all like it!

PLEASE TELL ME WHY IF YOU DOWNVOTE. I am SICK and TIRED of downvotes with no explanation.

Only solution that helped me, pretty hard to believe you got this on your first try, it took me like 12 tries. So yeah nice solution, 1+ for you.

Didn't have to switch to King, just switch to Racer about the 50% mark (that is if you have at least a 10 sec lead on the other cars).

This is absolutely the way to go. On my first run i only got about -30 seconds and I got about 400 points under. But on my second run I got -47 and turned king on at 80-85% and got 400p points over.. Both runs I got the no damage bonus too. The real win with the Porsche seems to be that it actually stays on the fucking road.. every other car just flies all over the place and every hump in the road will give you massive air time. Thumbs up!!

I have got No damage and -49,90 seconds but I am 10 Points short. You need -50,00 seconds and not -47s

I had level 4 engine with this, got it first try. Target time was 3:14.88 and I got 2:28.96 (-45.92) w/o damage and got 9,712. Only used 2 nitro boosts (beginning and end) I used casual to 100%

ok this can be sumwhat anoying and most info is hard to follow so do it like this

Toyota Supra

Stage 2 for all engine, brakes etc
NOS STAGE 3!!!!!

I assume everyone is playing on casual, heres how you do it no problem.

1. start on casual get a huge lead 13 sec or more lead on 2nd car by 60% of the way.
2. pause the game go to assist set it to king, this makes u go faster because on casual u go slower cause the game
3. MAKE SURE YOU GET NO DAMAGE ITS KEY!!
4. do it like i sead i got 10.193 points.

hope you like plz vote up

Why would you advice to start on casual. By starting on King the huge lead will be much bigger than the paltry 13 seconds lead on the 2nd car by 60% of the way.

Your advice should be as follows:
Set the driving assist to king. You don't need any assist since you only have to accelerate and steer. The level of driving assist won't affect the target time of the race. However king setting will prevent the AI from doing any kind of braking.

"MAKE SURE YOU GET NO DAMAGE ITS KEY!!"
Maybe you can elaborate on what you mean with this. Getting a clean race with no damage will only yield you 500 credits. Why would 500 credits on a total of about 10.000 be key?
Of course it is nice to do a clean race. But I think you exaggerate the importance of doing so.

Doing the race quickly is key in my opinion. The reward for a quick finish is key!
Giving advice about starting on casual is wrong.
Doing a clean race is nice but not crucial.

1. If you start on king its much harder to pass cars and gain 1st place + you will more likey weck.
2.Your wong try it and watch the, casual uses auto brake, and can slow you down random on bends, king doasent.
3.Damage is key -.- you need like 9.300 points i finished in 2.28- most ppl finish 2.42 so damage is key if you dont get good time.

1. Racing on king only influences how the AI handles your car. It does not influence the other cars. Thus it is not harder to pass the other cars at the start. And the likelyhood of crashing is not increased.
2. I do not know what I am wrong about. If you read the manual then you know that the casual setting makes the AI slow your car down. YOU are telling people to start racing on casual. YOU are telling them to race with a setting that makes them race SLOWER. YOU ARE WRONG IN DOING SO.
3. Where did you get your data. How do you know most people finish 2.42. Damage is not key because it is only 500 credits you gain. By cutting a few seconds off your time you will easily earn more then this. Like I said: it is nice to do a clean race, but it is not crucial.

My final points are 1st palce 4,500. Light Damage 160 (would have been a clean race but a car hit the back of my car) Time Bonus 5,327.Total Score 9,987 =)

Look at the number in the quoted comments and tell me again why the 500 clean race bonus matters.
Like I told you before: A clean race is nice but is is hardly crucial.

I did make a solution. It is the one above yours.

I am not trolling, merely pointing out what I know is really wrong. I'm sorry I make you feel like I'm trolling you. That is not my intention.

Anyway, enough of the namecalling and back to the topic at hand.
Could you please give a normal response to my previous post?

ps. If you correct you solution then I am inclined to delete my comments. Since they would not be relevant anymore.

That's fine. I do not want you to change it. I want you to explain it.
To be clear I do believe you about doing the race with your method. However you also indicate your method is very critical. I make this conclusion because you indicate it is not possible without the clean race bonus.

If you agree with the above then I want to proceed with stating:

You know that driving on casual makes your car slower. (You tell us to use this inferior setting for 60% of the race.)
By driving on the king setting for 100% of the race your time will improve.

If your time improves then your margin increases. This means you do not have to depend on the clean race bonus.

but the POINT im trying to make is with the SUPRA you have to start on easy so you can get passed them try it on king as i think its a z06 the 1st place uses and its near inpossable and going back to what you sead

its. 9430 and i got 10.193 so i only just made it.

I understand the point you are trying to make. And I understand it is tempting to think the casual setting makes it easier to overtake the other cars.

However this is not the case.

I tried to explain this before. Look again at these quotes from my earlier comments:
- "The level of driving assist won't affect the target time of the race. However king setting will prevent the AI from doing any kind of braking."
- "Racing on king only influences how the AI handles your car. It does not influence the other cars. Thus it is not harder to pass the other cars at the start. And the likelyhood of crashing is not increased. "

And I can even prove this to be true.
- Go to the menu where you set the driving assist. Read the description which accompanies the different settings. Those descriptions are only about the AI handling your car by activating the brakes.
- Driving assist does not influence the other cars. (RTFM)

In effect you are trying to overtake the other cars with an extra handicap. This is why your time is so critical.

omg...
i never EVER SIAD it AFFECTS the time

i qote * YOU WILL GO FASTER WITH IT SET TO KING*
as the auto brakes slow you down all so it makes the AI Easyer to pass.

AI On King is much harder to pass than casual -.- & you run the risk of geting damage ! where as if you set of on casual pass then all get a good lead then put to king AS apost to setting off on king.

Hello "dude",

I did just that. I bought the supra for 25,000 credits. All stage 2 upgrades and nitrous stage 3.
Did a couple of races on casual then some races on king.

Gues what ... no problem in overtaking no. 1.

Why do you find it so hard to pass the other cars? Maybe you do not time your nitrous right? Maybe you do not see the opportunity to pass the other cars? Your performance on king is not good and you"translate" this as the AI is improved?

OK, I have given you a few days to calm down and regain your composure. I have no idea what you mean with "idc" or "shh".
When you feel a bit upset you should consider the positive side of things. You get a lot of attention from someone who wants to help you.

I'm only trying to understand your solution. When I make a remark or ask a question you respond with a challenge for me.
- write a guide
- make the car and try it on king.
And sometimes I come up with some "hard" evidence like quotes from other players or the ingame manual. Then your response is not related to that evidence at all.

At this moment all your challenges have been accepted by me. I did your challenges and beat them. But what has been the gain?
I have given you a lot of evidence (quotes, manual). All of which you chose to ignore. Why are you doing this?

In your guide you say "most info is hard to follow". Well, I guess you know what I could say about your conversation - skills.

Yes, I tried it and it seemed like the other cars were going a bit faster then on normal. Then again your car is faster too and the net result is zero.
Overtaking car #1 was no problem at all. I consistently had overtaken him before the first major bend in the road. .

It got me mad when you said "most info is hard to follow". Implying that my guide is be unclear is not something I appreciate.

You do realize you owe me something. After all I went through the trouble of buying and upgrading the Toyota Supra.

To make up for it you can send me a friend request. I can then send you the blueprint of my car, the Porsche.

THEN you do Ryo's record 10 with my Porsche and let me know which super duper time and reward you make.

Now it's your turn to test my car.

I saw how many racing games you finished. Surely you're not scared to test a REAL car. ;-)

Wow you guys were so not helpful posting this arguing over the internet.... I had the supra and the highest score I got was 9200.
Also casual difficulty definitly helps getting to first place. It's just that you gotta switch a lot sooner to king in order to beat the score. It just sucks that for me sticking to the road is very tricky on king setting. Too bad casual helps but also draws back on the achieved time.

Anyways I'd like to see some specifics on the car setup.

Oh wow. Talk about provocation. This solution works and gets results, so why Theo Boots feels he needs to be an a$$hole is beyond me. Maybe it's not the best, I don't know, but I do know it works and that's the point isn't it? Some people consider boosting for cheevies as bad form, but that works too doesn't it?

Yup. Tried to get this several times with a Ford GT, no damage, destroyed the competition, super fast finish time and all i got was around 5700 - 6300 each time. WHAT GIVES!?
Used this method and got it on first try. 9800 +. Only switched to "king" in the last 50 meters too.
Big thumbs up!

I was able to get this by using a fully upgraded LP640 Lambo and I had to set my assist level to King.

I found that if i had the assists setting on "Racer" it was breaking too much and stopping me from getting a time quick enough to get the bonus needed to beat Ryo's score of 9430.

It took me a couple of attempts at king just to get the breaking / power right. Use a nitrous at the start to get upto speed quickly, a dab of breaks just before you crest the jumps to stop you flying out of control, and let of the gas a touch round a couple of the corners and you should get it, you are basically going to need to get zero damage and a time of around 40 seconds below par.

I got this by using a fully upgraded porshe 911 turbo, I read all the other guides and couldn't work out why they were changing assist difficulty I kept it casual throughout the whole race, finished and got the achievement on my first try with a score of 10,000 granted it's not the best score possible but it was an extremely easy way to get the achievement and the other cars were not in my way. Also if your wondering I got -50 seconds if that helps.
