How to unlock the Combo Rift Lord achievement in Orcs Must Die! 3 - Definitive Guide
This one is trickier than it sounds as you're completely at the mercy of what levels you're able to pick for each tier. The points you earn are based on the enemies you kill, so levels earlier in the campaign such as Great Room/Side Entrance will net you less points than Close Quarters/Cliff Side for Tier 1. To achieve this:
A) Always choose the level that comes later in the campaign (refer to this: https://orcsmustdie.fandom.com/wiki/OMD3_Story_Maps)
B) Never choose Drastic Steps campaign levels, as they give very few points due to entire waves based around low-point flying mobs
C) Choose debuffs when possible that add additional mobs (Fire Lords, etc) to earn extra points.
D) I'd recommend rerolling the seed (start then quit) until you get the Tier 1 level "Cliffside" which can net you 800-900k to start, which is about as good as you can do. For reference, the level Aqueduct will net you about 300-400k.
E) Getting lucky and having access to "Order Temple" at tier 3 can net you around 3.5million by itself, which combined with good Tier 1 & 2 can get you to the 5 million early.
You can perfect each level and not hit 5 million if you don't have access to the right levels. Need a good amount of luck and persistence - good luck!

I just like to add some tips.
The best way to achieve the 5 million is through combo points. Don’t worry too much about time as u won’t get much extra score from that. As well as rifts points. If u lose done rift points it’s fine u lose 1000 points for each one u lose not much.
What me n my friend ended up doing was just setting up a kill zone by the 3 wave each time. Even if it took enemies longer to get there it was fine.
I noticed u get a lot more points by having enemies take damage from multiple elements.
So we ended using ACID GEYSER, TAR TRAPS(Enemies slow), CEILING LASERS(Electric)SAW BLADES(placed vertical on the walls.
With this setup I was having enemies die with up to 7 elements at once giving lots of points even for smaller combos.
We ended up having almost 8 mil at the end of it.

The map picks definitely helped.

Combos! Combos! Combos!
All that matters for this achievement is combos. If you can get kill streaks, that's an added bonus, but by far the primary method of scoring points in this game is getting large combos.
A combo in Orcs Must Die 3 is the result of killing an enemy using multiple sources of damage and status effects. The more status effects and types of damage you can apply to an enemy before killing them, the higher your score will be. Ideally you want every type of trap to be applying different effects, and as many long range traps as possible. So, for instance, you could put a tar trap to slow an enemy, then arcane brimstone (which as far as I know counts as two separate combo effects between the damage and stacks), a ceiling pounder to stun them, lasers after that to electrify them, a snow / acid cannon to freeze / melt them, and a saw blade launcher with bleed. All that matters is how many effects and damage types you can use on an enemy before they die. Weapons also work for this, although I would stick with one since you won't be able to reliably switch between them to apply status effects.
The highest I've seen someone get solo is 16, and in co-op the combos can go as high as 30. There's no need to go that high, though, as me and my friend were able to get to 4 million by the end of the second level just scoring in the 5-10x range for most kills. Once you past 5 million points, you can let yourself lose and the trophy will pop.
Now, since you want enemies to actually get hit by all these status effects, it's worth noting that you don't want to kill enemies before they can get into your killbox and actually get hit by all your traps. You also don't necessarily want them to die *too* quickly, so the debuffs that give extra health can actually be a boon for this trophy. Similarly, I would prioritize more mana / trap cost type buffs over damage up buffs.
Besides that, it shouldn't matter too much what levels you pick. Later levels in the campaign tend to have more enemies, so I would prioritize those, and if you build a killbox using regular traps war scenario maps can be quite lucrative. Drastic steps introduces flying enemies which are not great for combos, both because they're hard to hit and don't give many points, so those maps are out. If you own the DLC, Cold as Eyes maps also mostly have fliers, as well as shamans who can disable your traps, so I would avoid those. The Tipping the Scales maps are generally better, having mostly ground enemies except for two maps.
