How to unlock the The Tune Heard 'Round the World achievement in Shining Resonance Refrain - Definitive Guide
Every of the 7 main game charackters have 13 tunings and the 2 refrain charackters
there are a few things to do to get them all:
- When you level a tuning to 30 you get 3 new tunings. So do this with 1 tuning for every charackter.Liselotte sells a aspect (Skilled Tuning) for 40000G that make leveling a tuning faster.
- You can buy special sigils by Lislotte for 10000G each that gives you with a bit of luck a tuning as Special Reward. The sigils are Imperial Blade, Bullet Witch, Magician Knight, Shining Princess, Shining Priestess, Beowulfs Revenge, Berserker Blade, Imperial Ninja, Magiclans eys and Dragonshift (not 100% sure anymore about the dragonshift sigil because after you get the tuning from the sigil you will only get scores from it).You can play sigils in Alfriedes Grimoire.
There is a save point next to Alfriede so if you want to save some money you can simply save befor you play a sigil and if you dont get the tuning as special reward just load your save and play it again.
- You get tunings by completing Ferandos quests. heres a video that shows what to do for each quest:
EDIT: Thanks to an annoyance for rembering me on that one:
- After you are done with the main story and start the post game there are some level 100 monsters in the world. You get a tuning form every monster after defeating it. For the locations of the monsters see the guide for the Requiem for the Enemy achievement.
After you finished with all of that you will get your achievement.
In this game, weapons are called Tunings. There's 115 Tunings all together. 13 each for the Original story characters and 12 each for the Refrain's added characters. Here's a summary breakdown of how to get these things. I'll add details for items 3, 4 and 5 on this list later down the page. Plus, all the way at the end I provide a complete listing of all of the Tunings.
1) Each character starts with 2
2) By equipping a Tuning and using it to kill enemies, the Tuning gains proficiency. Proficiency is displayed as a level. When each character gets one of their Tuning's to lv 30 (max level), it unlocks 3 new Tunings for that character. This only happens the first time one of their Tuning's hits lv 30.
3) An NPC named Fernando (the bard at the fountain by the Castle) has a series of 6 quests, one quest per chapter, from chapter 2 through chapter 7. Each quest grants an item, that once presented to Lyle (the Tuning guy) adds a new tuning to each of the 9 characters. More on this later in the FERNANDO'S QUESTS section.
4) Loading from a Game Cleared save adds 7 groups of powerful foes in various places. Killing each group adds a tuning to one of the Original Story characters. The powerful foes tuning drops are character specific. More on this later in the POWERFUL FOES section.
5) Loading from a Game Cleared save adds a ton of new sigils available for sale at Liselotte's Shop. 9 specific ones, when loaded into the Grimoire, gives "the chance" to get a Tuning for each of the 9 characters. More on this later in the SIGILS section.
FERNANDO'S QUESTS
I doubt you can miss these. Given the way that other quest series' in this game work, any backlog simply queues up until you get to it. Some of the stuff he asks for can be problematic to get since it mostly is rare drops. Luckily most of his quests can be completed using rewards from other, less troublesome, quests. So here is a list of his quests in the order they become available along with some suggestions on how to fill them. Oh!... and don't forget, once you've cleared each quest, go talk to Lyle (the Tuning guy) to unlock the new Tunings.
Chapter 2: Fernando wants Goblin Kukri. This you need to collect yourself from Hobgoblins. I found the most hobgoblins in Chapter 2 in Windia Grasslands: Breeze Field
Chapter 3: Fernando wants Spirit Mistletoe. The Bratty Boy (Castlefront Street, after you get the Rescuing Rinna mission in Chap 2) gives a quest that repeats forever for killing 10x Twin Head that gives you 2x Spirit Mistletoe. Usually you can find Twinheads all over the place, but iirc, when I went looking at this point in time, the only place I found them was Windia Grasslands: Breeze Field, it might also need to be raining. As an alternative, you can farm Spirit Mistletoe from the source, Daisy, found in dry weather in Elmore Greatwood: Elmore Springs. You can also use the Grimoire for Daisy or Twinhead.
Chapter 4: Fernando wants Giant Fist. Giant Fist comes from Troll. Troll is in the same place we found Daisy, Elmore Greatwood: Elmore Springs, this time dry weather or rainy (no thunder). Troll might be pretty tough for some at this point, so as an alternative, Captain Burroughs has a quest near the end of Chap 4 that grants Giant Fist as a reward. Burroughs' quest actually fits in nicely with the story related activities, so check back with him often until he offers it to you.
Chapter 5: Fernando wants a Fallen Tear. Hopefully, by this point, you are using Steal Attack aspects. At any rate, Fallen Tear is the rare drop from Cherub in the Coral Caves. Steal Attack** will likely get it quicker than it simply dropping. Another option is a side quest from Liselotte called Technological Import which requires 3x Unknown Gear and rewards a Fallen Tear. Unknown Gear is a normal drop from the Knightgear enemy on the bottom two floors of Gaelritz Prison. One of the Knightgears is right next to a zone line and can be killed over and over easily.
**Tips for using the Steal Attack aspect (or even Rinna's Steal Dive) when you are after something specific, perhaps especially when facing a tough boss like Cherub. Steal is excellent way to get rare items. You only can steal one item per engagement, so....... Engage the enemy. Monitor the combat log at the top of the screen for the Steal. Once it pops, Flee. Re-engage the enemy. Monitor the log. Steal. Flee. etc etc
Chapter 6: Fernando wants Glacial Breath, the rare drop from Glaciar Dragon/Absolute Zero. This dragon can be found in one of the zones by the Dragon Shrine in the Logos Tundra area. An alternative is a quest from Liselotte called Beast of the Labyrinth that has you collect a Giant Axe. A normal drop from a Minotaur. Minotaurs are found in Fort Garahl and eventually in Djingharna Ruins.
Chapter 7: Fernando wants Dragon Maw Scale. Dragon Maw Scale is the rare drop from any "wingless" dragon (Salamander/Grendel/Ahsgrimm/Sturm/maybe others) or the Emperor Dragon. You probably already have enough of these things. If not, by this point you'll find wingless dragons in a few places including Clavalle Crags: Silent Badlands. Emperor Dragon is Clavalle Crags: Lost Garden, windy weather only. Good luck getting the windy weather (chuckle). An alternative to this is doing The Winged Conqueror side quest from The Talkative Lady (up by Agnum). She wants you to kill 2x Stormbringers. You might find these in the Grimoire but maybe not, but this quest is special. There is a quest circle that appears in Clavalle Crags: Silent Badlands, that when activated, calls up 2 Griffons called Stormbringers. Its pick your poison here. I went with the wingless dragons but getting some drops from the Emperor Dragon will unlock some alchemy recipes that might interest you.
POWERFUL FOES
Once you've cleared the game, you get the option to save. This save can then be loaded to continue your playing. Once this save is loaded, 7 groups of powerful foes appear in places you've previously fought bosses during the story. Killing each of these powerful ~lv 100 foes nets you a tuning for a specific character. Killing all of the powerful foes also nets you the Requiem for Our Enemies trophy. Here are the locations to find these powerful foes:
- The Glaucus Falls boss arena.
- The Djingharna Ruins' dragon shrine boss arena.
- Boss arena platform at top level of Gaelritz (dragon fight location during the tutorial).
- Boss arena library in the lowest level of Gaelritz.
- Found at Fort Garahl's boss arena.
- Logos Tundra's dragon shrine boss arena.
- The Old Castle Theater boss arena.
SIGILS
Once you've cleared the game, you get the option to save. This save can then be loaded to continue your playing. Once this save is loaded, a ton of new Sigils are offered for sale in Liselotte's Shop. The ones that matter for gaining new tunings are the following:
Magician’s Eye
Imperial Ninja
Berserker Blade
Beowulf’s Revenge
Shining Priestess
Shining Princess
Magician Knight
Bullet Witch**
Imperial Blade
When loaded into the Grimoire, they provide a boss battle against shadows of the characters that gives the chance at obtaining a Tuning as the reward. Each Sigil provides a different Tuning. The boss battle is set to your level. The Tuning that might be rewarded is listed under "Special Rewards" in the Grimoire set up interface. Oh!.. and lets all thank the powers that be that these are not Tri-Ace shadow bosses.
To maximize the chances for the Special Reward, the Dungeon Rank must be S. This goes for Special Rewards on any Grimoire dungeon. For these listed Sigil's, the easiest way I found to create an S Rank dungeon AND to obtain the Special Reward is by setting the Sigil along with a Master Egg Sigil. This will produce an S Rank dungeon. The Master Egg Sigil is available for sale from Liselotte.
If you receive a white chest at the end of the battle, you have obtained the Special Rewards. The Special Rewards will also be listed in the chest contents. Keep trying if you don't get it the first time. Team performance appears to have no impact whatsoever on the chance of obtaining the reward. Dungeon Rank is the only factor that matters.

There are four unique steps to this achievement.
1. Your main goal as you play the game will be to complete all of Fernando's quests. He will have one per chapter from 2-8 (six quests total; nothing in Chapter 7) which will give one new tuning per character, and the video below outlines how to complete each of those.
2. Your secondary goal will be to make sure you do not switch the tuning on anyone's weapons. You need to max out at least one weapon per character (Rank 30), as this will reward that character with an additional three tunings. You can use "score" items to quickly increase a weapon's rank as well.
3. After the game is complete, you will need to do the "Requiem for the Enemy" achievement for killing seven different Level 100 enemies. Each of these enemies will reward each character with another tuning.
4. Lastly, purchase these nine sigils from Liselotte: Magician’s Eye, Imperial Ninja, Berserker Blade, Beowulf’s Revenge, Shining Priestess, Shining Princess, Magician Knight, Bullet Witch, Imperial Blade. Each of these will be used in the Grimoire, and you need to get the rarest chest to spawn after completing each. Which chest spawns is completely random, unfortunately. I would suggest saving prior to using each sigil and reloading if the white chest with the tuning does not spawn. You will miss out on a lot of experience, but save a ton of money (the sigils cost 10k each). The only exception to this would be if you get a Jackpot sigil as a reward. Using this in conjunction with the sigil to spawn the boss will give an increased chance of the white chest spawning at the end, cutting the number of attempts you'll have to do down by a lot.
To recap:
- Complete all six Fernando quests (+1 per character per quest)
- Max at least one tuning per character (+3 per character)
- Complete the "Requiem for the Enemy" achievement (+1 per character per monster)
- Complete nine unique dungeons in the Grimoire (+1 per character per sigil)
— Upgrade any one weapon of a character to level 30 “MAX” (3 new weapons open) the Tune Up aspect will help
— Kill all bosses for the “Requiem for the Enemy” Trophy (they give 1 weapon to each Persian)
— Complete all quests from Fernando (bard), there are 6 of them.
— There will be grimoire dungeons in the post-game. They are sold at Liselotte. Reward: 1 weapon for each.
PS. The list is attached below. The screenshot did not fit 2 items, so please buy more yourself. The meaning will be given to the white chest. We increase the chance of its dropping by raising the rank of the dungeon to S. We kill the boss and a chest randomly drops out. We do the seeding before the dungeon. If you don’t get it, re-enter, there’s no point in spending money again
As a result, all characters should have 13 types of weapons. Excella and Jinas have 12 types
