How to unlock the The Wind's Light achievement in STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN PS4 & PS5 - Definitive Guide

Getting from A to B through the levels in Stranger of Paradise is a linear and straightforward affair. The bosses at the end of the levels however, can require a little more direction and at times, a little of patience. This guide is an explanation of the moves list that the boss has at their disposable and the best way to perform against these moves. Keep in mind that this guide is based on the class that I played which was a MONK and relied on close quarters dodging and blocking but should give a good idea on timing for attacking and defending.

All moves are telegraphed in some shape or form and can be countered or dodged. There is an attached video of my gameplay which was captured on HARD difficulty, so moves could vary on other difficulties. Also playing as a MONK, it is possible to heal yourself if extra healing is needed. The main aim of the battle is to beat on the boss until the second phase, try and build up extra MP by blocking with the 'Soul Shield' cn_B and then in the second phase, ignore the bosses HP as it will continually use its 'Regenerate' move to heal and concentrate on using 'Lightbringer' cn_LT + cn_B and using combo moves up close when the boss uses 'Breath' to whittle down its Break Gauge to zero.

MOVE STRATEGIES

FIRST PHASE
REGULAR MOVES
Stomp - Will jump straight up into the air and slam down for Area of Effect damage. Will normally follow up with a Tail Whip or a Lunge. This can be countered with soul shield easily.

Tail Whip - Will swing tail once or twice in your direction and is the easiest to block with soul shield and build MP.

Lunge - Will use one or two heads to snap at you in quick succession. Harder to counter but if notice quick enough it can be blocked with soul shield.

LABELLED MOVES
Whirlwind - Creates several Whirlwinds, Be sure to back away from the enemy until the Whirlwinds disappear. This move will be followed up with a second move straight after depending on your position and proximity to the enemy, commonly - Lunge, Stomp or Breath.

Macro Burst - Commonly performed after the enemy tries to Stomp you, get behind the enemy to perform a short combo but be ready to block a Tail Whip.

Ire of Dragons - If attacked will cause an Area of Effect counter attack, just stop attacking the enemy.

Breath - Is the best opportunity to perform a combo. Get close where the rotating beams do not hit you and wail on the enemy. Will be followed up by another move depending on your position and proximity to the enemy.

ABSORBABLE MOVES
Tempest - One of two absorbable moves in the first phase, the enemy will leap back in the air and fire down upon you which can be blocked on contact.

Poison Gas - The second absorbable move and operates in the same way as Tempest to absorb.

SECOND PHASE EXCLUSIVE MOVES
Beam moves such as Breath will include more elements such as lightning which can STUN you for a few moments.

Wind Blast - Will force a ball of wind in your direction if you have distanced yourself from the enemy.

Tri-Disaster - Normally following a Wind Blast, this move sends a beam of wind in your direction if you have distanced yourself from the enemy and can be dodged.

Regenerate - Will fully regen health and break gauge. The goal of the second phase is to ensure that the enemy can no longer regen by damaging the break gauge.

THIRD ABSORBABLE MOVE
Thunderbolt - Operates the same as Tempest and Poison Gas, however if not absorbed correctly it will stun you for a few moments so it may be best just to dodge this move.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

This trophy will pop after you complete the 6th Main Mission: "Memories of Wind" (Lvl 40), located in Flying Fortress, and defeat the boss, Tiamat.

Note: After you defeat the boss at the end of the mission and speak to Sophia, you'll get the choice between doing the Fire Crystal or the Earth Crystal first. For this guide, everything will be in the order of Fire > Earth.
